Togusa's such a dedicated member of Motoko's group that's why Batou got all riled up and emotional seeing his pal get clobbered and beaten that way.

I thought those people were very cold, no one seemed to mind that Togusa was bleeding to death! No one seemed alarmed or surprised at the sight of a wounded man walking the street.

Yeesh! Poor Togusa! I hope he'll be okay. Those DEA guys weren't fucking around. My subs cut out for the last few minutes of the episode, so I'm not too sure who the guy in suit or the old guy he was talking to are.

And why does no one call the cops or ambulance when they see a guy lying on the sidewalk bleeding to death? What the fuck, people?

We're back at The Laughing Man plot... Man I can't contain my excitement!

Fucking mule passer-bys can only look one direction. Can't anyone have the freaking initiative to do something? The sad truth is that this doesn't happen only in fiction.

That was a great episode. I'm liking how the cameras are all focused on Togusa now, he's such a great character. I wonder if he will have the most impact in the solving of The Laughing Man case? (If he survives godamnit)

When you live in a society filled with lies and fear, most people would be afraid of doing something that could disrupt their daily routine, even if it meant helping someone. GitS has a lot of fiction, but it also has a lot of truth.

that's the biggest reason that i'm hooked on GitS; it's an eye-opening series that not only provides the viewer with a futuristic reality of a cyberpunk setting, but showers us with OUR reality, presently terrorizing streets and behind the scenes where the public eye is nowhere to be found.

it's quite disturbing, but also refreshing to see in an anime

People may be cold-hearted, but I find it hard to believe that no one would bother to call the police when seeing something like that.

Anyway, this happened in Psycho Pass too. It must be a future thang!

Stake spectacular, the plot begins to take again a winding path, which also inlcude LM in appearance. Plot full of anxiety-producing elements, which make the narrative explosive. We note also a component of action and violence degnie of GITS, do not have any illusions violence makes her masters in certain contexts. Drawings excellent, fascinating dialogues, it's finally time to Togusa. Curious to know how to manage the result of the bet.

Really love how the show fully exploited GITS theme in the end. Just look at what society has become. Fear, apprehension, uncertainty, ignorance...technology affects highly on the social level. This reminds me of PSYCHO-PASS, on how the people have been living so peacefully due to the Sibyl System, that they do not even know what to do when crime occurs. The human nature, and I believe it is the main theme for GITS: SAC. I believe that "Warai Otoko" isn't an individual, but the whole incident is caused by the mass hysteria, panic, and fear the civilians had.

I hope Togusa doesn't die, I like the human look he bring in the squad. But the wound seem dangerously close to the heart, but if it had touched the heart, he couldn't have made this far.

Here's my guess on the situation : the Dr. Murai developed the vaccine. But a medical lobby didn't want the vaccine to go viral because it would make too much financial loss. At the same time, they were using the vaccine to cure important people who must have paid a lot to have access to it. So to resume, you have the middle class who need to use the medical process, which is less effective, to cure the disease, and the wealthier that pay the high price to use the vaccine.

It's sad to see that a whole attorney association was wiped out because they poked their nose into something too big for them...

It seems that now the fun begins, the main plot started to move the narrative is as always in these cases is quite compelling and raw.
Togusa receives a further stage in this episode, in which to show his talent.

So what is the eventual goal of the Laughing Man? To expose this scandal- or is there more to it?

The Sunflower logo looked very similar to the Laughing Man logo.

I liked the inclusion of diffusion of responsibility in the end. It's awful, but that sort of thing is common even in the first-world countries of today. I hope he doesn't die.

So it seems that the Sunflower Society are behind the laughing man or are supporting him in his agenda ?

Very interesting and intense episode.
