| My absolute favorite anime with bad animation is Baraou no Souretsu. Very little animation (definitely not enough budget for 24 episodes), but I loved the dark and shoujo-esque aesthetics. Last season's Human Bug Daigaku was pretty interesting too, despite being quite ugly and having less animation than some visual novels. |

| Maybe Space Brothers or Kemono Friends, but the aesthetic of Kemono Friends really grew on me, so I wouldn't actually consider it bad. Space Brothers just had completely average and flat animation all the way through, despite how amazing the story was. I don't know if there was a single cut of particularly good animation. That's what I've got off the top of my head, but there are probably others if I check my list. |

Backstreet Girls. Everyone hates on it so much because it's limited and crude but because it's a comedy and quick paced it works so much better then if it had a more generic functional animation to it. | KareKano continues to somehow work even when they run out of animation budget entirely and have an episode of paper cut-outs. Kodocha and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei also do wonders with quite limited animation. |

| The first season of Higurashi doesn't look all that well, howver the amazing story makes it easy to ignore that problem. I think Kagewani is pretty decent despite all. Chitose get you!! is another short show that get trashed for it's animation that I found quite enjoyable. |

| DearS - it has submissive girls in it. Slave romance rather than hentai, kind of. One of its kind as far as I know. Animation is bad for 2004 standards. There are also animation flaws in Grendizer, Speed Racer, Space Captain Herlock but these are very old shows. Back in the days they all probably looked like that. However bad shows of that era are long forgotten, most of them not all of them. Those that are not forgotten, are remembered for good characters and story. Kaiji only has unique unconventional art style. Its animation is actually good. Tatamy Galaxy is half way between unique art style and ugly. |
