THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Looks like the episode takes place around the mid-terms. It's no wonder students get busier in the show.

I'm actually kinda impressed on how Touko is able to manage her role as a student council president while also doing her studies. Felt like a slower paced episode but quite realistic in terms of the real life atmosphere at the school.

The scene in Yuu's room could be more erotic...

They are spending more times together now. Things are moving on huh. Even if in a slow pace. Nice episode.

I have to say that this show doesn't even skip a single dialogue from the manga lol. It's so loyal. Well, things will start getting interesting from here on out. The show has covered 9 chapters of the manga in five episodes so if I do the math correctly the show should cover about 24 chapters. So a sequel would probably appear in 2020 probably, but it would be nice if the author could speed the pace of the chapters. They come out monthly.

The way Yuu reacts its so like me, she's on doubt and trying to understand it before she could come out with "the answer"

Although my case is way more difficult than hers, I do understand why.

I wish I had a cupid that would tell me that when I need it the most, lol
Just give them a pair of over sized breasts and a happy ending and they'll oink for more every time

I really liked this episode, it was without doubt my favourite one so far. I love how slow paced the show is, and how every episode we get incremental info on the characters.

We clearly got to know Yuu isn't feeling anything more than duty, and a slight affection towards Nanami. Yet, there is an evident desire to start feeling something, and she clings onto her presence in hopes her heart will finally rush.
On the other hand, Nanami is more into you by the day, and she clearly won't stop trying to make Yuu get feelings. It was such a lovely scene, when Yuu was staring onto her, and she was completely flushed. Not only for the fact Yuu in younger but, also cause she purposely did it to make Nanami feel uncomfortable.

Can't wait for the next episode :)

I think the final scene of Yuu holding onto the planetarium shows that she feels more for Touko than she is willing to admit

Oh, I love this show so much that words are not enough. I really like the scenes from Yuu's home, with the family. Also, it is honestly refreshing to see an anime where half of the family isn't already dead too.

Yes, super cute way of expressing that without words. I was on the edge of my seat when Touko was in her room. "When will she see the planetarium?!"

if yuu didnt come into her room any sooner, nanami would've probably sniffed the entire bed.

This episode seemed to highlight something I remember reading about the series somewhere. A criticism pointing out Yuu's lack of agency in most of the story.

When she's laying in bed she says 'I hope my heart will decide." Almost as if she were to finish that sentence as "I hope my heart will decide for me."

Hopefully she will begin to take a more active role in events to come?

I do also hope that she discovers her own experience of love may differ from that of her shoujo manga, but is still valid! I love these characters and want to see them happy and together.

I love to see Touko blushing, Yuu knows how to tease her senpai.
The first few minutes of the episode was fun, Touko's reaction to the content of the book was very nice.
It seems that Touko is a little jealous of Maki, she must believe that he loves Yuu.
Yuu still doubts about what she feels for Touko, she tells herself that she is with Touko because she is very fragile and needs someone to take care of her.
Yuu wants to make an effort in her exams, but nobody wants to study with her, but Maki gets her a study partner, Touko.
The study sessions were very good, quite close, Touko is happy to spend quality time with Yuu, the way she caresses Yuu's head is so adorable.
The studio session at Yuu's house was the best part of the episode, Touko's surprise reaction when Yuu invited her was the best. Touko was very happy in Yuu's room, that moment when she rests her head on the bed, Touko is very beautiful, Troyca has done an incredible job in the animation, the details, the color and the lighting. The moment where Yuu tease Touko was the most beautiful, when Touko thought that Yuu would feel her heartbeat touching her chest I laughed a lot of her reaction. Yuu is still confused by her relationship with Touko, she thinks that more support than love, but I think Yuu does feel something for her senpai, only that her feelings are still very weak.
Rei, Yuu's sister, seems to know what's happening between them, she shares the recipe for the cake and sends to Touko a photo of Yuu sleeping, Touko's reaction is so pure and innocent.

Enjoyable episode. Their relationship is making progress while there's no real progress, if that makes sense, lol.

Oh my god, I loved this. So much fluff, it's like all those yuri doujinshi finally come to life. XD

So many adorable reactions from Nanami this episode, I absolutely loved the part where she was blushing when Koito got close to her and the final reaction after seeing the picture on her phone was priceless too.

Looks like Koito's feelings about what she's feeling are wavering again, why do feelings need to be so complicated right? Seems to me like she's kinda dismissing her apparent feelings for Nanami as just her being a nice person who cares about people who need someone to care for them.

Koito's sister is awesome, I hope there's more interactions like the last scene with Koito's sister giving Nanami a goldmine of Koito material. xD

Two days ago, I got curious and read this episode's content in the manga. Luckily, it didn't ruin this episode for me.

Yuu knows that Maki is using her for his own entertainment. lol.

The boyfriend looked kind of creepy. Why were his eyes drawn like that?

The episodes feel too short!! I'm pretty sure I'd think they were short even if they were 40 minutes long.

I really am liking the Yuu and Nanami dynamic.

They actually made many scenes happened in different way from manga. They also add in some new scenes to make the story flow better.

I'll start my comments by the lines from todays episode;

Nanami (senpai): "you are the only one i want to be with but i know you dont feel the same way about me"

Koito: "its true that i dont have any special feelings that drive me to stay with you"

THE LINES BEING THROWN AT EACH OTHER JUST SHOWED HOW ONE SIDED THEIR LOVE AFFAIR IS FOR EACH OTHER, as Nanami (senpai) always wants to be with yuu (koito), but koito wants another person to be with while studying for their midterm exams. Nanami (senpai) realized it but its ok for her since she love her...

Next line;

Koito: "...person who seems to need me the most is you nanami- senpai"

(Note: nanami senpai is happy when she have heard that lines from her)

Again the above mentioned lined just made things clearer that she is only accompanying nanami (senpai) is just simply because of PITY!!!

I love this episode very well... but please do not let yourself be involved in a ONE PARTY LOVE AFFAIR!!! in the end you will be the ones that will be hurt badly... well all deserved to love and be love back...

I loved this episode, I kept happy sighing while watching it. I love how Nanami isn't forcing herself on Yuu and how she's respectful of her feelings. The scene of her reacting to Yuu's sleeping pic was SO cute. This series is definitely my favorite of 2018 (for the opening alone!!). Even if they end up as friends at the end of the series, I don't even care. It's just so lovely and makes my heart feel full!! This is the shoujo ai I've been craving: light, realistic, NOT RAPEY/FORCED/Ecchi. I can't wait for the next episode!!!

The slow-paced development works really well in this show, it helps you understand more about the characters. I just wish that their interactions were more realistic, Rei and Hiro talked to each other like robots even though they're supposedly dating.

Not all couple likes to call each other as darling or should've acted all touchy to make it seems realistic. If anything, that seems more unnatural for Rei and Hiro. It's not like they haven't been dating since high school. All those awkwardness had gone by now because they're used to one another. Certainly, when you kept seeing that person you're into after a while, it is pretty ordinary to act like those two. Heck, just gotta see how my mom and dad are interacting with each other after 20 years of marriage to get the answer.

I'm not talking about them not being touchy-feely, I mean that their conversation in the kitchen was so stiff. It's more to do with the presentation than the script. The dull voice acting for Hiro and the awkward pauses after each line remind me of a couple of 5th graders reading out lines for a school play. The camera angle doesn't help either.

This episode was really enjoyable. Sure, the pacing is slow, but that type of pacing really works well for this show. There's a lot of time to properly develop the character chemistry between Nanami and Yuu, as well as some of the other characters, too.

Same goes for the soundtrack. I really enjoyed the songs that they've used for the show so far and this episode, for me, is where the soundtrack really did an excellent job in fitting with the feel for the show.

Not to forget, Nanami's constant expressions, along with Yuu's deadpan-like facial expressions while they studied at Yuu's house was really funny. It's those scenes that always put a smile on my face. =)

The next episode can't come soon enough! XD

For a person who has no problems with a lesbian relationship, Touko is too naive when she thinks that the romance with the title "Garden of Lilies" and without a male love interest on the cover will be about heterosexual relationships, lol.

Sometimes it seems to me that the characters in the yuri / yaoi manga intuitively understand what genre they are in, and therefore they always quickly realize that main couple are more than just friends.

I'm not sure I understood you completely, but I tend to agree with Afezeria that their exchange looked quite natural and realistic.

Touko blushing has become one of my favorites things to see in this world.

This episode was filled with quite a lot of fluff to make me really warm inside. Any more and my heart might just burst and I will end up dead and gone.

The pacing is nice and slow, and I like that. A slow ride lets you look and take in things better than a fast one. The fact that it stays incredibly accurate to the manga in nearly every single way, is impressive, but I do wish that there could be a few original scenes.

This is so amazing. Touko was so adorable this episode; I just couldn't stop smiling. This series really takes me back to my first serious gf. Everything Touko says and does is just so damn relatable. Thankfully for myself, my SO was not like Yuu in the earlier stages. Even so, I love Yuu as a character and can still relate to her on some level.

Wow, it's like the writers read my post from last week.

"Oh, this kid thinks this is like the Disney Channel? What if Touko accidentally buys lesbian porn and admits she gets wetter then the front row of SeaWorld when she's around Yuu?"

...Respect.

This anime's Episode 5 really made me learn to some of the lifestyles of Shoujo Ai logics. This episode has more thrill if I watched the next one at the same day. Unlike other airing Shoujo Ai animes, Uchi no Maid and Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san, has a comedy that I can disagree that they are both Shoujo Ai animes. Maybe Episode 6 would be much of a climax yet, I guess.

Oh boy, Touko was incredibly adorable during the whole episode. From the initial scene with the book with rather "suggestive" scenes to her reaction when she received that photo of Yuu while sleeping. I really, really like her character and her embarrassing side is always fun to watch.

This episode was more calm but still enjoyable. It was lovely, being honest.

So, Kanou was writing a part of her novel in the previous episode. It seems interesting and I want to know Yuu's opinion about it although I don't know whether this will be some kind of sub-plot or not.

Also, I liked Yuu's attitude while they were at her room. I didn't know she was such a tease xD The conversation was both cute and entertaining to watch. Not to mention that Touko's embarrassed attitude made the scene even more adorable.

All in all, it was another episode I highly enjoyed. Yuu still doesn't feel anything but I think that her situation is slowly changing. She just need to be fully sure about what she feels for Touko. So I'm really looking forward to seeing when the realization hits her.

Great episode! A bit more calm and slower compared to the last!! Everything is the same from the manga. They only added that last scene with Touko studying and Yuu's sister sending a pic of her sleeping.

Everything else remains the same, same with Yuu sleeping with the planetarian lamp.

Next episode is going to be great!

This is really adorable if you ask me, Yuu really is teasing her Senpai well. Like I love how Yuu complained that Touko was too close at some point and now Yuu does the same to her.

This is just way better than Citrus.

This is so good that I am already really sad that it will end (like all things do in this fickle world). Is the manga long? Does it seem to continue for much longer than what will be shown in the anime?

It's currently 36 chapters long and is published monthly. The anime will cover at least 25 chapters.

Really, this show is something. I can't wait for more of the manga to be adapted, as my favorite parts are still to come. I'm so happy every week when I see a new episode.
