We get it, we get it, we'll recycle and save power and reduce our use of technology

This was amazing. Kaiju and robits and interesting metaphorical concepts. I'd watch a full length movie based around this premise and setting.

Seriously, though. Imagine how far they could take this around the setting of technology bogging us down and they could twist into a "commercialism is ruining us" story, all disguised as the story of monster battles and moral dilemmas concerning the portrayal of the robot and the people behind it being antagonists with good intentions rather than nefarious ones
srsly tho
fund it trigger

Indeed, the symbolism. Kind of had the Godzilla vibe as well, especially as the gigantic monster awoke.

Rather enjoyable.

That was pretty good , really nice setting definitely wouldn't mind seeing a full movie based on something like this.

Song at the end was pretty lovely as well

Well, at least we're back to short films again rather than self-indulgent bits of wank.

"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

If only those character designs weren't hideously boring and out of place.

Good stuff, except maybe for the robot. And where did it come from? Kaijuu and pet kaijuu were cute. I also like the simplicity of the last sentence.

Damn, that direction was perfect! The pacing, the camera angles, the cuts were briliant. This is on a level we normally don't see in anime outside Eva/Ghibli. Animation itself was decent and the message was clear. Only thing I disliked were the lazy character designs for all the people except main girl but that's not that much of a problem. Easily the second best after ME!ME!ME! at this point and it could've been even better if it had more time to develop a story.
In 9/10 cases, the worst thing about an anime is its fandom.

Could not look away. Kept me interested the whole time. Nice symbolism too. I don't care how dumb the mecha looked (or that it just had to be there).

And there's the Yoshiura song.
It's some conspiracy I tell you.
Everything he does has a good ending song or something.

Seriously.
He should just do SF SoL. His works as of late no longer have the same charm as his earlier works.

That was actually really good, didnt expect a power supply to be a dragon like creature, the fight against "technology" - it being a gian robot was alright.
The symbolism though ...

This kind of kaiju action makes me yearn for a Godzilla anime, or at least a translation on some of the Godzilla manga.

Godzilla vs. Robot, not very original, but enjoyable for the 5 minutes it had to present the story. I found the idea of harnessing great monsters for electricity rather interesting and animation was quite impressive. Good use of CG. One of the better shorts so far, though not among the best.

Oh crap, Trigger has arrived.

Okay, I'm gonna have to be careful here, as this a short that's seemingly begging to be analyzed. You have monsters that can power a city. It allows people to go about their daily lives, wearing stuffy suits that does who knows what. However, that same monster is capable of both destroying the entire city, just as it's capable of getting up and walking away. Is it referencing our current reliance on unsustainable, limited energy sources? Is it referencing how constricted lifestyle?

That aside, I'd like to highlight a particular aspect of this short that I didn't realize was missing in a number of recent anime I've watched: weight. There's something about how the robot and monster fought that felt extremely impactful. These are massive entities, and seeing them wind up for simple punches becomes a grand spectacle. No, each step they take already rock the ground, and seeing their movements remind me of watching an incoming tidal wave. It looks slow, but that's because of its massive form. It felt like the entire short was just for the monster's single punch, which was a sight to behold in and of itself.

This time we get a Godzilla spoof with a hidden message. The monster and robot design is something else :o

The humans have started to depend on energy greatly and technology is on the verge of consuming them. Our Kaiju buddy then saves the day, destroying the robot and freeing them ningens from the shackles of a tech-driven society.

When we first saw the dragon thing, I was like "where the hell did that come from?" Then I realized that it was the actual mountain looking thing that they were using as a power plant. It was enslaved for the power it could provide.

Until is said to hell with you assholes, I'm leaving!

Really nice episode.
