The fight between Keiji and Rita was good.At the end, Keiji have the surname Killer Cage. Next is the movie with Tom Cruise, but I don't think that it will be good like the novel or the manga.

Killer Cage sounds pretty cool. RIP Rita.

It's going to be sad seeing this go. I felt like these 17 chapters flew by quickly. All in all, it was a good read, I wonder what the movie is going to be like...

That was quite a sad ending, I felt for Keiji at the end, losing Rita like that must be painful. I really enjoyed this manga though, although it was short, it had an interesting story and great art, I'll probably read the novel sometime in the future, but I do wonder if the movie will do it justice.

Anyway, this manga was like Muv Luv Alternative, take two (muv luv alternative alternative :v)

If it wasn't for Obata's art, I probably wouldn't have liked this series. It was a fine series. Nothing special about it, except for Obata's art which is beautiful.

Pretty much agreed with above - art was realy amazing, manga was entangling and ending, well, it was realy predictable that keiji would win based on chapter 16 and how he told he knew everything about rita's battle style.

Got an overall 8 for the art and enjoyment from me, but I agree that the story and development could get a bit extended with details from LN.

The characters weren't that bad, but the story and concept by itself are pretty cliche by our time.

Well this was a pretty decent adaption of the LN. They left out the explanation of where the mimics came from, and some other stuff that works better in a novel anyway.

I'm not sure how accurate the official English translation of the novel is, but I'll always be a little disappointed this didn't have the line "You want some exercise? Then find some pussy to bury your dick in."

Very sentimental ending kinda "the sky is blue and so are you".
But I expected Kiriya to die, honestly.
In any case, Obata's art was good.

I have not read the LN so I didn't know that ending was coming, but I sorta predicted it anyway. She had been trough more of a hell than Keiji so it was a bit of a "I'm going ahead" ending which I really liked!

It's a shame that this was so short. I understand that it didn't want to stretch since the LN isn't very long, but I could look at Obata-sensei's art for many more months to come.

I am so happy I read this. This will be on my favorites list for a long time to come.
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

The story felt really rushed at the end and having
was too abrupt so I didn't really care. 3/10, don't hurt me pleaseI think I would have enjoyed the whole thing a lot more if they just slowed the series down a bit.

^Yeah I think that's why it wasn't as good as it could've been because it did in a way feel a little rushed. But the again, the LN is only one volume long???

Still, I was quite invested in the two characters by the end of this short manga. Looping is always quite painful, and is a lonesome experience for any character in a story, and though I haven't really read/seen many stories with looping, I think this one is particularly tragic because there are two characters who have experience looping, and were able to have their one moment of happiness talking together...but it was kind of a false hope for happiness at the end. I did like how sentimental it was at the end too.

What an ending!...

I liked some details in this chapter, like how Keiji's eye expression changed dramatically after seeing a fatally wounded Rita and that towards the end, the number 160 from Keiji's hand was fading away. I recently read the Graphic Novel adaptation, but the manga was by far better, especially in art and pacing. I'll also check out the Light Novel soon

So the LN felt rushed too then, right? That's kind of what I meant, that it might've been because the source material was rushed too. But of course that doesn't mean an adaptation can't make it better...

No I mean even if the LN is short the manga adaption is still rushed. The LN never really felt rushed just short.

Oh I see, so it's solely the manga's fault in its execution of the plot then. That's unfortunate.

I really liked it, I really like the ending even though its not much of an ending. Only thing that really bother me is 2 things, 1 is that i dont really get how rita could tell keiji was in a loop that time she talks to him on the battlefield, and 2, i dislike how we didnt see keiji fight off the mimic after rita's death, it could had been pretty epic had we seen him destroying them all on his own after what he went through.

I give the series a reluctant 8, but still an 8. It may go down in the future but i enjoyed the read.

Yeah, the novel didn't cover it either, it just told us Keiji was so filled with rage he didn't even remember killing so many Mimics after Rita died and people had to tell him how many he killed.

See thats just badass, its a total waste of a really memorable moment to not actually show us that. Also i just got back from seeing the movie, Man this ending is 20 times better than the really standard ending the movie had.

This is how you write manga.
"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

Is it for sure that there will be no continuation? The ending seemed like a direct lead into a sequel. I know the story was all about getting out of the loops and what not, but there is still a war going on. We still know nothing about the mimics other than a little about how they work.

A really solid manga. Glad I stumbled upon it's existence after watching Edge of Tomorrow.

9/10, for sure.

Though much more bittersweet then the movie adaptation, I felt this ending was much more realistic.

I am so confused. There is still SO much that was left unexplained, and I don't get why it had to be him to survive. Then he fell in love with her after a day. Like, what?

Good series. I would have given it an 8/10, but since I was left so confused, I'm giving it a 7/10.

Edge of Tomorrow was SOOO much better...

Unlike the movie, this is very rushed, there's several things that are simply not explained, while I don't mind Rita dying, I do mind the way they rationalized her death.

I mind how they don't fully introduce Rita until the second half of the story and we're supposed to feel that the Main Characters develope a love connection over TWO chapters??

WHAT?!?!

In Edge of Tomorrow we understand the romance because the MC gets to fully know Rita over all the times they train and try to complete their mission.

At one point Tom Cruise's character tries to do the mission on his own because he's tired of watching Rita die....it affects him in a big way.

We don't get that here....hell we barely get any interactions between the two characters.

We don't know what the Mimics are, why they are here, and what they ultimately want.

The art is Sooo good, and I liked the characters, and the story....

But the execution is lacking.

Well, this turned out better than expected, I mean as a whole, superb artwork and really interesting premise, this chapter alone was just ok however, the battle was great but I don't really like the reason why one of them had to die, feels pretty bullshit, just to get an emotional impact in there at the end, oh well.

Also, ending wise, I don't think either the movie or the manga had a really good one, but as a whole, the movies was better for me, had some dark humor in there, I felt the romance made more sense and plenty other little details made the movie more enjoyable to me. Will rewatch the movie, I doubt I will read this again however, maybe the novel.

Well, I knew it wouldn't end on a happy note. Though I can't say I was expecting that. I do feel like this could have been better if it was a bit longer. I know it was based off the novel, which I haven't read. Yet I feel like they could have done a fairly good job at adding more to the story, while it still being a rather faithful adaptation. Which I'm unsure if it was a faithful adaption or not. All in all a 3/5, ending felt way to abrupt and it didn't feel like an entire story to me. Wonderful artwork though.
