As always, thanks to everyone for participating from the very beginning to the finale. Many expected rounds, eliminations, problems lol etc; overall, it was a really interesting tournament compared to my other hosted tournaments. | Neon Genesis Evangelion's iconic opening honestly deserves this title. Iconic tune and visuals, respect given by both older and newer anime fans. Simply a very solid opening that can connect a lot of its enjoyers together, no mather their taste in anime and anime preferences. That was fun! Thanks a lot for hosting the tournament, @nirererin. It must've been rather time-consuming to keep with all the votes, double-checking them, announcing every round's results and the round itself. :) Thank you for the info regarding the next events. I can't wait to participate in them. π |

| Thank you for hosting and for your hardwork. It was nice to watch so many great OPs. It was a real fun competition. Despite questionable voting sometimes winners are decent. Evangelion is one of the best one so deserving 1st place. Looking forward to the seasonal ones good luck. |

| Thanks for hosting the thread and tournament. Unfortunate that I missed a few of the rounds, but I found some excellent OPs from the nominations, like Arknights and Kiznaiver, so it was well worth checking out. Looking forward to seeing if there are any more great EDs out there in the next tournament! |

| Thank you for hosting the tournament! I've come to know many different openings from the nominations and it was a fun experience! Just a thought as the top 3 are the iconic openings, I guess many users (including me) were more biased towards voting for the more 'iconic' and 'well known' openings among the nominated openings, as a result the 'lesser known' openings were turned a blind eye and got eliminated in the first few rounds. I think the match should have been 'the best anime openings from each decade such as from the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s' or 'the best anime openings from each genre' or 'the best instrument only anime openings' or something like that. I think we might have gotten a more fair and accurate result. |

| I'm pleased with this result! These are all finalist selections I can live with. Out of the three, I'd choose Lain, as indicated by my voting record, but all are aurally pleasing with the auditory side well-matched and well-balanced with the visual. As far as Neon Genesis Evangelion goes in terms of the series as a whole, despite my not giving the series an awful rating, it's actually among my least favorite anime series I've seen due to a number of reasons and I definitely am not in line with the praise and popularity it receives, but the OP for it has always been one of the only things I've ever really liked about it (as well as the characters of Rei and Gendo), and definitely a well-made and classic one which would deserve its due and recognition even if it were entirely divorced from the series it's attached to. But yeah, I find any of these three reasonable as top three choices, even if they wouldn't personally be my own top three, let alone any serving as my own #1. That distinction, my own top favorite OPs, would go to Higurashi's OP1, which I nominated for this contest. Followed by some others which were nominated by others, like Inuyasha's OP1, Elfen Lied's OP, and Ergo Proxy's OP; and some which were not and not included at all, like Inuyasha's OP2 and Shiki's OP1. It was also a pleasant surprise to see some others nominated and even actually initially do well enough - ones which I couldn't nominate as we're naturally limited to one per individual user and I was wedded to Higurashi's, but which I was shocked and gladdened to see appear at all, like Arknights' OP1. One of the best OPs of the past five plus years to me which came out of nowhere (same with the series itself). I offer the firmest expression of appreciation and nod of acknowledgment to the host nirererin, who conceived of the competition and invested laborious effort in addition to time on his own part to set it up and conduct its running. |

| That was fun and I overall like the top 3, classic lineup for this type of stuff. And yeah I don't think that highly of Cruel Angel Thesis as a song, but if we just take the opening version and see it as an opening, combined with visuals and all, yeah, very few things are close to it in my opinion. |

| Thank you nirererin for hosting this, was fun. I'm glad to get exposed to OPs I would have never heard of. Shoutout especially to the one who recommended Railgun. NGE is a timeless classic that has been a hit for 3 decades. A great OP to hoist the gold. Hope to not miss the ED tournament whenever it comes out. Might participate in the other tournaments, we'll see. Happy New Year in the meanwhile. |
