| Killua's mother is a quack, her voice is gentle yet sounds very desperate/on the verge of insanity. I really like how fast paced this series is compared to other longer running battle shounens, they got the training done without spending 4 episodes emphasizing the power of nakama and believing in yourself. Good to see Gon's arm is healed up and looks like it really did get stronger since he was able to destroy that stone post with it. |

| Kind of a slow paced episode, i noticed they extended some of the training regimes and they omitted the part where Leoro opens the door after training for 2 weeks. I am actually happy they did, it didn't really fall into the right context of time in the series. Cause it would indicate that they been training for 2 weeks, almost a month and how can that be when killua has been in the mansion locked up and all the other recent events that been transpiring. I was always confused they did that in the manga. Gon is just relentless, like a 12 year old boy should be i guess. I will do WHAT I WANT and there is not a damn thing you can do bout it. But honestly he really needs to prove his observational skills, some of these situations could get him killed because of him being ignorant and arrogant. |

| So they finally open the gate. I think it's become obvious how badly Gon doesn't want to fight, but I'm not sure if his strategy is the best. He could get himself into a really bad situation like that. This isn't the Hunter Exam. He could genuinely die if he doesn't watch himself. Still, it was a bit heartbreaking to see the servant killed the second he won her over. I wonder how they'll get past the mom and sister. I don't think there's any chance of them getting by them through force, even if Gon was willing to use force. Looking forward to the next episode. |

| Gon has great character arc, despite being a shonen mainie. He's not overly strong either, which makes him relatable. But that face tho. I like that music they play when he gets hit. |

Even small moments had fluid animation. I'll definitely give it a go after this one. Seems even better tbh. |

| Yeah, I certainly have my issues with the '99 series but they executed that scene really well. It's probably because I have gotten into the late material of this '2011 series, but I much much prefer Han Megumi as Gon. |

| I think the voice acting for all the characters was overall a bit flatter in the 99's version, so I guess this explains that. And you're also probably biased because of Megumi's performance the later episodes hehe. I should really get around finishing the 99 version, tho. That scene you linked was executed significantly better than in 2011. |

| Majority of veteran fans not affected by "counter feedback" say 99 adapted most things much more gracefully and was overall better. If it's anything like that link always, then it's right imo. |

| I already stated my love for the 99 version. There are many things it did better imo like that scene, of course there are things it did worse but I prefer the 99 version till GI arc. |

| With all these minor changes, I feel like this falls a bit short compared to the original ;/ Like what ppl have already stated, Leorio needs his early spotlight of opening the gate. Esp since he's one of the few hunters that weren't necessarily qualified to be a hunter given his lack of skills in the 4th phase. Don't get me wrong, I like that Leorio passed and is a hunter, but I'm just saying. That's why it'd be nice for him to prove himself by being all badass opening up to the 2nd gate on his own. Merp :3 |
| The training montage was definitely interesting. However, the part when Gon repeatedly cross the line which that servant. Those scenes are RUSHED. It felt like the pacing for the second half of the episode was unnatural. On the bright side, the first half is great! |

| Yea the progress or at least the pacing seems a whole lot faster than in the original. It might just appear so though as I don't remember exactly how much episodes it took to get to this point, but it did feel a whole lot longer there! |

| Leorio and Kurapika's dedication towards opening the Gate of Trial without Gon's help for his own sake was inspiring but the moment he finally chimed in was what finally opened the doors to the Zoldyck Estate. Gon's "fighting" style of getting so beaten up that you'd feel bad about it is definitely a very effective tactic. Even though he got so damaged, his will stayed strong because of the purity of his intentions and made the likes of that apprentice and even me tear up. It's too bad that Mama Zoldyck killed her like that so suddenly since she was shown to be a really kind person. |

| I did not consider torture a way for disciplining a family member, it seems these assassins do leave to their name. I liked the apprentice servant, I hope she's not out of action. |
