Hi all, As you would expect my hobby is anime. I like this site because I can organize all of my media more effectively. I have lists and documents I used on word pad for several years during my teenage years, but this site is a lot more efficient, has more features and it gets updated periodically by many fans and mods, so your usually never out of date in trying to locate material.
I decided to turn my attention to filling up my anime entries on this site. A little about me: I am 33 years of age currently. The time of this writing might not reflect my current age because I wrote this when I was a teen and have since updated it throughout the years. However, I was born in 85, so you can figure it out mathematically. I have been into anime for about 25+ years. My first anime I ever watched without realizing it was "Serendipity the Pink Dinosaur" also known as "pink dragon". It was a child's cartoon and I watched it at a friend’s house when I was 4 years old. I also watched other similar child cartoons during the late 80's like "Scamper the Penguin" and "Little Nemo Adventure of Slumber land". Of course, during this time, the thought never went through my mind that these were actually anime, I was only 4-5 years old.
When I reached the age of 12-13 years old my first real exposure to this diverse and wonderful medium was Dragon Ball Z as is the case with most people that are in their 30's now which probably had there start watching much of the classic anime which aired on toonami or adult swim broadcasted on tv networks. Similar examples include stuff like inuyasha, yu yu hakusho, rurouni Kenshin, Gundam, tenchi, But I didn't really get seriously involved into the hobby until a friend of mine introduced me to a series called Evangelion.
That's when I realized that anime existed elsewhere besides just on tv. This particular series was more adult oriented and explored more mature themes. Some of my first introductions to emotional character drama and didn't just center around action and fighting like in the case of most shonen. EVA was the first anime I watched that incorporated more of a physiological and even philosophical layer to its story telling and underlining themes presented in the series. It opened my eyes to a wide spectrum of possibility in storytelling, my imagination at the time could not comprehend. Eventually I started renting and or purchasing anime media at one of my favorite stores in the mall called Suncoast. I also picked up alot of different anime at my local videotape rental store, obviously during this time, the BOOM of the 1980’s OVA explosion was in full bloom and a lot of interesting anime was on VHS.
Eventually I figured out that I can Download anime on the internet. First with my dial up connection I would only download AMV's (anime music Video's), because music interested me, and I loved seeing some crazy anime scenes mixed with music which became one of my little side entertainment hobby’s. Obviously it was a bit of torture not being able to download full tv shows because it would take a week for the downloads to complete, but eventually the dial up era ended.
Once I got high speed I would Download Consistently. Ever since then I was hooked, and it became one of my permanent hobbies. I'm also a dedicated gamer, mostly rpgs or action/adventure titles. I have been into gaming since I was like 8 years old prior to me being exposed to anime. I currently right now own quite a big collection of games from different genres that I love. You can always leave a message on my MAL profile, and I will try to respond promptly. If you managed to read this boring interlude of my life story, then thank you all the same. I love discussing anything relating to anime, games, and pretty much any kind of nerd culture. :)
#10 Outstanding, a truly elite title that is nearly perfect in every way. This score is giving out very rarely and indicates an anime series that should never be missed. Even fans that do not consider the genre to their liking will find that a series of this caliber to be excellent and above and beyond what they would expect. Because the story, the production, the execution is so cleverly crafted.
#9 Superb. This score is high recommendation because the anime reviewed is head-and-shoulders- above its competition.
#8 Very Good. A title that indicates satisfying elements and pure enjoyment but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This rank indicates their are many good things to be had in a particular series.
#7 Average. The anime's shows great potential but is nothing that casual watchers have seen before. A decent anime from beginning to end.
#6 Limited Appeal. Although there may be fans of anime who find this some what enjoyable, many will be left yearning for a more rewarding experience.
#5 Flawed. It may be obvious that the anime has potential, but its most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience.
#4 Bad. While some things work as planned, the majority of these titles either fall flat or is so dull that the anime falls short of as a whole.
#3 Painful. If there is anything that is redeeming in a anime of this caliber. Its buried beneath agonizing viewing and uneven execution in its elements or themes presented.
#2 Broken. Basically unwatchable. This anime is so flawed, so insufficient in execution that any value what so ever would be derived among extremely small audiences. Most fans would find an anime of this rank to fail in nearly every conceivable way.
#1 Disaster. Some may call an anime of this rank to be so terrible that 5 or 10 min in, you feel you lost precious time. Some even redeem a series of this rank to be so bad that its the new "ranked worst anime of all time"
Below I am going to list, banners, clubs invites and all my favorite listings using individual tags.

NARUTO IS TRULY HEADING TOWARDS THE CLIMAX. OVER 10 YEARS I BEEN FOLLOWING THIS SHOW. SINCE THE DAY I FIRST WATCHED SUBBED ANIME. REMINDS ME OF DAYS AS A CHILD GROWING UP WATCHING DRAGONBALL Z. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE SEEN MUCH OTHER ANIME i FEEL LIKE PART OF MY SOUL WILL BE LOST WITH OUT NARUTO :( LETSHOPE KISHIMOTO GIVES IT A FAREWELL BANG
I’m not sure if you remember me, but we had a discussion about Naruto some time ago. I just finished watching Shippuuden today, and I have to say, you were right—Shippuuden is much better than the original series! The highs of Shippuuden are phenomenal and incredibly engaging. I loved the Pain arc and the unfolding of the Great Ninja War; I was so hooked that I watched 20 episodes a day! The more I watched, the more I appreciated how both sides in the conflict were striving for a perfect world, albeit with vastly different approaches.
I really enjoyed Shippuuden and now understand how essential the original Naruto series was for setting the stage. Thank you for the recommendation!
I'm Not Familiar With Leiji Matsumoto Works Not Yet , I Will Watch Them Whenever I Have The Time And A Clear Way To Watch Them.
I Searched In MAL For A Watch Guide Couldn't Find Any That Makes Sense Searched In Reddit And Found This One Ultimate Leijiverse Watch List So I Just Copied It Into An Interest Stack.
I Was Planning To Make It Unlisted But Changed My Mind Maybe It's Gonna Be A Big Help For Someone Out There.
I'm Sorry If I Caused Any Confusing.
Hey old friend, wow you now have watched 863 days of anime? It would be over 2 years of anime if just played back to back as you know. that would be a good perk in heaven. Hope you doing well lately.
First of all, please excuse the very late reply, but so much has been going on in the last 2 - 3 months that unfortunately I often missed out on replying to messages. Still, I hope you're doing well so far.
Regarding the first episode of One Piece this year, all I can say is that I was absolutely not ready for the events shown there. I would have expected a lot, but the section with Imu, Lulusia and Sabo in particular had a real shock factor that gave me chills.
In general, the Egghead Arc is so incredibly fun to experience. I can only imagine how manga readers must have reacted to a lot of the information we've received so far. Long-awaited questions are answered and at the same moment new ones immediately arise. Even though I'm obviously always hyped for good fights, the mysteries and secrets are a special aspect to me that I love so much about One Piece. So I can hardly wait to see what the next episodes have in store.
How do you experience the implementation in the anime so far?
I can't promise that I'm ready by any means. Although I am aware that countless pieces of the puzzle still need to be solved, it will still be a strange feeling, at least for me personally, to know that One Piece will actually embark on its final saga.
Obviously, over 20 years ago I wouldn't have even begun to believe that One Piece would accompany me for such a long time or have over 1000 episodes lol.
I am extremely excited to see what Oda has prepared for us from now on. Since Punk Hazard, the next direction point has always been predetermined. Now with the conclusion in Wano and the victory over Kaido and Big Mom, of course all sorts of speculations arise in my mind.
When you even say that developments, revelations, and major plot moments from this point onwards become almost normal and could possibly change my own perspective on certain episodes, that only makes me more curious. I guess you can't wait to see anime only people's reactions to upcoming events.
In my experience and what I've heard in general, most people have problems getting into Gintama because after the first few episodes it probably doesn't necessarily meet their expectations, which can lead to a possible drop.
So it's great that you gave it another chance. Gintama has a deep, serious story and, in my opinion, one of the best MC's in anime (yes, I'm biased here), which is not necessarily noticeable at first glance, since, as you say, a wide range of other shows are often parodied or references to certain people, places or times are unfortunately not always understood because the necessary background knowledge is missing.
What often amazed me about Gintama was the fact that even in a humorous or parodied episode, an underlying message is often conveyed. I can't remember ever seeing it done like this in another anime before.
Oh, you've changed your name? In the very first moment I didn't realize it was you, but I like it. Also great new profile picture. Gintoki is life, Gintoki is love :D
I'm not sure if you've seen this yet, but this was such an emotional and wholesome video. Especially when Oda shared that he's glad Iñaki was born to be just like Luffy. Likewise, I loved Iñaki's shared feelings about One Piece and Luffy as a character. Putting on the straw hat at the end, just like Shanks did with Luffy, was the icing on the cake. I'm not really a person who would fangirl over someone, but in Oda's case I would have the exact same reaction as Iñaki. This is also one of the reasons why the One Piece-Live Action is such a success.
Absolutely. This phenomena is also something which caught my eye over the last weeks and months. On one side I liked the coziness, but as you say it can't be a bad thing if One Piece rises in popularity and more people are able to explore the wonderful world One Piece represents :)
I hope my hotel has a good internet connection available as I will be on vacation from tomorrow until the 28th. So I will only be able to watch the next episode on my phone.
Nevertheless, this episode was a real firework and as always I can only marvel at Megumi Ishitani's talent. Truly a successful conclusion to this long-lasting battle. The aftermath will be extremely interesting and what impact it will have on the world.
I would definitely say that Gear 5 is already one of my favorite power ups in the anime, as Oda not only found a perfect time to introduce us to Luffy's newfound power, but also took a huge risk with the cartoon elements. However, this second step was extremely worthwhile because it simply fits Luffy's freedom-loving character.
Btw, 1074 was just amazing. As you already pointed out in your quote, some people seemed to see the initial scene with Momo as a simple flashback, even though it had so much more meaning. An illustration of what the country of Wano, its citizens and tirelessly fighting samurai and of course Momo, his family as well as Kinemon and the rest have had to endure over the last 20 years. And I loved the final moment where Luffy reaffirmed to Momo that he trusts him as he launched what is by far the craziest attack on Kaido I've witnessed in One Piece so far.
So it doesn't surprise me that this is supposed to be Luffy's strongest attack, at least so far. I'm so excited to see what this will look like later.
I love Gear 5. I re-watched 1071 and 1072 and it's such a ridiculous power that it's almost breaking the game. There's doesn't seem to be any limit outside of Luffy's imagination which is insane. He randomly grabbed lightning in such a casual manner that's almost feel sorry for Kaido. So far Luffy only keeps evolving and Gear 5 will be no exception. The future fights are going to be nuts, that's for sure.
Really? Megumi Ishitani is directing today's episode and we're also getting a new Opening? Damn. Now I'm even more excited what kind of song they chose and what the visuals will be.
I am sure that the fight between Luffy and Kaido will have a spectacular ending. It almost feels unreal that we're almost at the end of Wano given its length. Nonetheless, I'm hyped.
