Training on the beach!

McQueen and Gold Ship still has their usual silly arguments loll. The horse girls in their suits looked absolutely gorgeous so it's no surprise the other girls reacted in a fangirlish way. (even Special Week!)

Nice mood this episode especially the pretty fireworks. Suzuya is impressive in that race!

Well it looks like Suzuka is seriously a though opponent to beat if Special Week wants to make a chance she will have to train hard.
Since El Condor Pasa could not beat Suzuka this means that both Condor and Special Week still have some training to do.

It was a bit sad for Grass Wonder tho seeing she tried so hard but could not obtain what she wanted.
She just recovered from her injury so she isn't at top condition yet which makes me wonder how she will perform at top condition.

As usual, the sports part is by far the superior part of the anime, intensity is off the charts.

I really felt for Grass Wonder coming back from an injury and wanting to close up again. Good on her coach to comfort her after that painful reminder that she isn't 100 percent yet.

Suzuka was untouchable there.

If Spe-chan joined that food eating contest, she would've won with eating 3 whole plates of donuts.

Lol,seeing some of the girls binging doughnuts was quite a sight.

Seems like Hana has the hots for Trainer xD

Suzuka destroyed the competition.

Is her vision going bad or was she just distracted by her teammates not to notice the goal? I have a bad feeling about this.

Back to the horse girls yo~ having fun and soaking in the atmosphere...

So pretty much it's between Team Rigil vs. Team Spica for all the competitions going forward...

This time we have Rigil's Grass Wonder and El Condor Pasa vs. Spica's Silence Suzuka...AND YET UNDEFEATED!!! Suzuka's basically the diamond cut...

Grass Wonder still reeling in her injury, yet receives encouragement from her coach even if she lost the race, a good reminder of her stubbornness to give her all during the upcoming races.

I got the impression that Suzuka is just becoming more and more fast to the point that she has less competition.

I wonder is the way Gold Ship act towards McQueen also a reference to real life.

Expected some amount of horse racing fans to show up at the festival, but not a single one was seen. The donut eating competition was surprisingly cute.

I believe Suzuka was just too happy running on grass after seeing Special Week cheering for her so she kept running.

Oh, so that's how they're going to handle the Silence Suzuka dilemma.

Another good episode, I am really glad they do not focus on the idol bit much. This might push to an 8 for me if it keeps this up.

I wonder if the combination of Suzuka's weird eyesight/goal overrun has something to do with her out-of-country plans. Things could take a sad turn.

Poor Gold Ship still can't get away from injuring one of her eyes once again, just like last week. ^_^

The whole festival was pretty fun, from seeing butler horse girls to the entertaining donut eating contest and Special Week's adorable smile to Silence Suzuka. However, the best part of the episode was the race, of course.

El Condor Pasa is one formidable horse girl, but even at her maximum output, she tastes her first ever defeat at the hands of Silence Suzuka. I do sympathise with her, but most of my sympathy went to Grass Wonder. It's always tough to get back to full fitness after recovering from an injury and from the performance she gave in the race, she has some ways to go before she regains her full strength.

Hana's reaction at the end of the episode is typical of a prideful person, acting annoyed and vowing to come back stronger. As for our pervert trainer, he acted like a bad winner, cheering loudly after hearing Hana's words. XD

My only question remaining is why Suzuka want to race abroad. My guess is that she wants to take on a tougher challenge and the only way she'll find that is going abroad. I just hope she doesn't have any regrets with her decision if she does go abroad...

There's nothing wrong with her eyesight. She was just so happy thanks to Spe-chan's cheering for her she missed the finish line.

For El Condor and Grass Wonder, I can understand the pain of finishing as a runner-up instead of first place, especially for Grass Wonder, who wasn't even at 100%. They'll get their next chance for redemption, though.

This episode was abundant in cute and funny moments, and still had time for a very enjoyable race at the end. The only downside was the raising of the injury flag. It makes sense that something has to happen with Silence, given the history of her rl namesake, but I hope they don't try to get serious with it. Currently it's working very nicely as a light entertainment anime, and trying to go a shade darker wouldn't really suit

Pretty fun start to this episode, they got another member, good to see Suzuka with another win, Special Week has a giant carrot for a pillow.

Wow that was a lot of donuts to get through, no wonder they both got so fat after eating them.

That festival was a lot of fun.

That bar scene was pretty funny.

What a great run by Suzuka, she lead from start to finish, no one could catch her at all, great win.

I was unimpressed at first, but this series is growing on me. In particular this episode I liked the attention to details, such as when Special, Suzuka, El Condor and Grass were having snacks during the fair. I kept getting distracted by the girl in the background at another table eating her own pile of food.

Seeing Mejiro McQueen and Gold Ship's interactions, I just had to break my promise not to read about the real-life horses (too many spoilers!!)

So... Mejiro McQueen is Gold Ship's maternal grandfather. Also, Gold Ship was known to be an unpredictable horse, a troublemaker of sorts, winning big sometimes and underperforming in others. So this depiction of a random troublemaker, trying to get her "grandfather's" attention with her antics seems way too accurate.

For more food for thought: Silence Suzuka and Special Week are half-siblings (same father), as well as Gold Ship and Daiwa Scarlet's uncles, these last two are cousins. Also, Vodka, Gold Ship and Daiwa Scarlet are descended from the same great-great-grandfather. Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet had a real rivalry of sorts. Simboly Rudolph is Teio's father.

Oh right, Mejiro McQueen was also Spe and Suzuka's father's best friend.

Aaaaaand, unfortunately I ended up spoiling me to the next races' outcomes. FML. DON'T READ THE WIKI!!! All the races so far have been pretty much exact copies from the actual races the real horses ran on. But well, at least I understand the relationships more.

Oh, although judging by TV Tropes, the show is already beginning to attract silly yuri-fans who see homoerotism in absolutely any interaction between the two girls, I'm glad that until now the show is more focused on the plot and the development of the characters, rather than on fanservice or moe.

Apparently, the transfer this title to P.A. Works with their melancholic chastity, not some Doga Kobo or A-1 Pictures, really was the right decision.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, the authors confirmed that this franchise is also related to real life as KanColle. In a sense, portraying of real relationships between "characters" as romantic friendships or soulmates in the show and more. At least, the injury of the Week is almost a direct quote from her real biography.

There's nothing wrong with imagination.
It's only wrong when it turns into reality and then somebody suffers a loss bcs of it. Even then: 1. There's a minimum limit of how much loss, and what kind of loss, and, 2. The imagination itself is not wrong. It's the action that is wrong.

Also, apparently you have a very rigid definition of moe. One that is conflicted with social stigma.

Watched episode 6:

This is now the best racing anime I've ever watched. Didn't expect Suzuka to be so much faster than them, I thought El Condor would be able to close the gap in end. Anyway, Suzuka was running scary fast. . I remember how the trainers talked about accidents earlier in the episode. Got nervous that Suzuka might slip or some thing.. glad that everything turned out ok,

Obviously looking forward to next week!!

I have no problems with yuri or moe. God, Doga Kobo is one of my favorite studios. But I get annoyed by two things - when the authors try to cover up the bad development of the characters with fanservice, and when people start attacking me, if I do not share their interpretation of the plot.

lol horse tummies from all those donuts, those 3 faces were real funny.
Goldship & McQueen ship well. Good designs from those two new Suzuka fans & rivals.
Something's wrong with audio compression in some sounds but not all.
Feelsbad for Grass just returning from rehab. The race was very hotblooded and showed how Condor & Grass were thinking while Suzuka was so focused with her Devilman run she forgot the goal.

First time I've seen an anime combine a beach episode and a school festival episode together.

Anime.. anime.. I dunno what I'd do without your logic. Everytime a female warrior powers up.. she wears less clothes, shows more skin despite having a higher armour rating... this show.. you pile on more clothes when you race. What's with El Condor Pasa's huge coat!?!?!?!

What nice way to relax and have fun after that intense race but to join the festival and see horse girls in a donut eating contest.

Already know that El can't beat Suzuka. She's leagues above her.I'm glad she's in team Spica now.
