Most probably not coming. The LN is ending soon. Vol 13 is the last volume and I don't think they have enough content for a 3rd season.

Not a chance, Frozen sold 1.5 first week and 2.3 million after 6 months. Frozen was not expensive (3800 yen for the pack BD+DVD) and it's much more attractive for the pre-teens who are the main buyers.

It's pretty funny. They could have finished the second season at the same time as the novel, but they still turn it into advertising.

Somehow, Kimi no Na wa's sales hasn't exceeded my expectations. Considering how many copies were shipped to retailers and its initial hype, ~700k isn't too far off. Anyways, 630k+ is outstanding and it won't be very long until the total sales hit a million.

Well, because anime is exist a medium for the source material advertisement. Honestly, no surprise there.

638k for first week, not bad. But considering that Frozen sold 1.5 million in its first week (with similar results in theatrical release), its not that spectacular to be honest. Of course this number might not be precise - its possible that in reality the actual shipments are twice as big, since Oricon doesn't report everything.

As much as I am not a fan of Frozen and love Kimi no Na wa, it is still an anime and no anime can ever even hope to match the commercialism that Disney films have (much as I am not much of a Disney fan even).

Worldwide - yes, that's true. But Japanese people usually prefer domestic creations over imported ones, especially animation, and you can see that from annual box office results. Frozen was an exception, even tho Your name finished extremely close to what frozen did. (Your name - 19.30 million admissions, Frozen 20.03 million admissions, which is fairly close)

it's in Japanese tho, and I don't know how accurate it is, but I think it's pretty accurate.

With 638k copies in only 1 week, it's already the 19th best selling anime movie in Japan (this includes "cartoons" like disney movies aswell)

YES! 639 k for Kimi no Na Wa. Well deserved.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

I think you might be under the wrong assumption. Saekano season 2 stopped at vol 7. There are 5 more volumes (vol 13 later this year to wrap up the story) plus 2 side story volumes left to adapt, so in fact it has too much material to cover for S2 in any case, even if it was a 2-cour. If they want to make S3, they will have to cut some materials.

Vol 13 is indeed the last vol, but they only covered up to vol 7 with S2, so in fact they have too much content for a 3rd season or even a 4th. They can probably squeeze everything in S3 if they decide to cut some less important chapters. Judging from the strong sales, I doubt they don't even consider a potential S3.
