I'm here one more time to make a review of the best anime. Well, Natsume Yuujinchou is the most heartwarming anime I've ever watched. I only watched 4 episodes of this season, but I already know it'll be great as always. Natsume Yuujinchou never disappoints me.
Story: 10/10 - Like every season of Natsume Yuujinchou, it's about Natsume, a boy who had a tough childhood, lost his parents and now lives with the Fujiwara family. One day, he found the Book of Friends, a book that owns the names of many youkais, so Natsume is trying to give it back to all of them. The episodes
can be massive sometimes (even more to people that doesn't like Slice of Life), but I must say that I enjoy every episode, some of them are really heartwarming, some episodes are dramatic, some will make you tense. If you're expecting for a big drama, this anime is not for you.
Art: 8/10 - The art style is a little bit simple, but it's beautiful, without exaggeration. Characters well-made, great sceneries and the youkais are very cool too.
Sound: 10/10 - Natsume Yuujinchou's OST is just marvelous! I think the OP of this season has become my favorite, and the ED is also great, but the most important are the background musics. They are awesome, and very calm too (just like in every season), they match perfectly with the situations. I have downloaded every OST of Natsume Yuujinchou, including this new season. It's a good OST to listen to when you want to relax.
Character: 10/10 - Most episodes are focused in other characters, like Nyanko-Sensei, Natsume's friends, but especially in the Youkais that appears asking to Natsume's help. Every character is very well worked.
Enjoyment: 10/10 - Like every season, I enjoyed very much this 4 episodes I've seen. I'll come back here later to add more information when I finish the season.
Overall - 10/10 - Well.... It's Natsume Yuujinchou, it's always 10/10. I totally recommend everyone to watch it!
To be honest, in just 4 days, I finished watching all the 5 seasons of this anime, oh boy no regrets. Probably the only anime I binge-watched all of its seasons religiously, even though I'm a pretty busy person because of work, I HAVE to find time to binge-watch this show because it's just amazing and heartwarming.
This anime is one of the greatest animes ever.
I know that this season is not finished airing yet, but I know, like its previous seasons, the story will be amazing. No, the story is not repetitive, like what the other people thinks. I'm one of those people
who detest repetitive plot or cliche plot or predictable stories; if Natsume Yuujinchou series is like that -- I already gave up on the show and proceed binge-watching something. Well, I didn't stop and yet I'm asking for MORE!
Every episode you get to explore different youkai's story and personality, you get to love Natsume and Nyanko-sensei more, you get to appreciate everything around you, and every episode will make your heart so warm you always want to cry because it's so beautiful.
After each episode, your wish that you want to live with Natsume, the Fujiwaras, be with Nyanko-sensei, and Taki and Tanuma just goes out of control. If you guys know the memes on the internet asking if you want to live in the anime world, which one do you want to live in? It's definitely the world of this anime.
The animation is just everything in the show, it lives up to the heartwarming tone of the anime.
One of the reasons why I freaking loved this anime so much is because of its soundtracks. Every OP and ED of this anime is just so gooood. And just like the previous seasons, the music of this season is gooood too. Whoever's behind the music of this show, thank you so much.
I love every character in the show, I mean even the villains. Omg what is wrong with me.
Me smiling and crying so hard at the same time because of this show? Yes and thank you so much for making me feel this way.
It kinda sad that unlike other airing animes, Natsume Yuujinchou is not that popular. It deserves all the hype, the love, and the attention from all the anime fans (even the non-anime fans). But I actually feel great because I'm not one of those people who is missing out on a very amazing show.
If you're looking for a sign to watch this show: THIS IS THE SIGN! Watch the show NOW! Of course, watch season 1 first up to season 5 -- you're not going to regret it. Enjoy! :)
Hi, this is my review for the 1st 6 episodes of the 6th season of Natsume Yuujin-chou, I read the manga so I already know how this season is going to go still I will only address the episodes I have seen so far.
If you are new to this series (why would you read this review then because this is the 6th season), Natsume Yuujin-chou is an anime about a high school named Natsume Takashi who is able to see youkai (Phantoms), Natsume's parents deceased when he was a child, and his ability to see youaki led him to be passed around from relative to
relative, by the start of the show Natsume has settled into the Fujiwara household who are distant relatives of his father, which happens to be in the same town his grandmother, due to an incident where he released a powerful youkai named Madara (who is "stuck" in a fortune cat form and adapts cat-like mannerisms.). He discovers his grandmother could also see youkai and he inherited the "Yuujin-chou" a book which contains the names of the youkai she made contracts to put those youkai under her control, which gives Natsume the power to control them as well, which causes youkai to now haunt him for their names. Brace yourself for a school life anime in which Natsume tries to return all the names of the youkai his grandmother captured.
The story in Natsume really isn't the focus of the show, it adapts a "youkai of the week" type of ordeal with some short mini-arcs here and there but there is barely any substance into the overarching plot. Instead the show takes more of a character driven standpoint in which it looks into Natsume trying to balance his interactions with youkai between his friends and the fujiwaras while not telling them he can see youkai.
Takashi himself is a very good protagonist, he is likable, relatable and all around fleshed out as a character, dealing with his tragic past and some traumas due to him being haunted by youkai as a child led him to be a shy, timid not really sociable person, in the course of the show we see Natsume becoming more open with other people gain friends who are both youkai and human. Meanwhile most of the side characters balance Natsume out as well, we get the likes of Madara a condescending selfish and prideful youkai who gradually warms up and becomes friendlier with Takashi, Natori a man who can also see youkai and works as an exorcist who ideologically clashes with Takashi but still becomes friends with him, and my personal favourite Tanuma unlike Takashi, Tanuma cant see youkai but can sense and see vague shadows of them, he is a rash but intelligent kid who wants to help Takashi but because of his lack of ability to clearly see youkai he often worries Takashi who does not want him to be involved because he is afraid he might get hurt, which leads to a great insight into both of them and helps them expand as characters. Interactions with all different youkai lead to some fun and some challenging experiences for Takashi to explore and think about through out the show.
The character design in Natsume for the most part is really bland, that's mainly because the manga it is adapted from really has quite sub par art.
youkai can look great like Misuzu who is a giant flying demon horse with long white hair and purple kimono and he is a rarity, for the most part it is just bland looking youkai who tend to just have masks or white cloth on their face or worst case scenario the river god, who is just a young kid with gray hair. The scenery in the new season has improved, no longer does Shuka reuse assets like in go and everything looks detailed and good enough on its own, while not lacking in variety. I must say Shuka (Formerly part of Brain's base) really one-upped themselves this time in the animation department, lack of still frames that were common in the earlier seasons, more detailed and smoother animation lending to a much better visual experience, which led to the show be lighter on exposition and tell the story more visually.
The sound design in Natsume Yuujin-chou Roku, like all previous seasons is really hit or miss, at times its off sync and does not lend it self to the situation, sometimes it corresponds and really blend's in with the scene leading to a really powerful feeling, I also like how they do not recycle the same melody for every scene that is supposed to invoke emotion in you like *cough* angel beats *cough*.
Overall, I like Natsume Yuujin-chou Roku and I think it is the anime of the season so far, but it is nothing revolutionary for the show or it's genre. Its a good character driven anime that explores it's characters emotions and develops them consistently and it does it well, and I would recommend it to anyone who digs those kinds of anime.
