| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Heh, same OP song but with different sequences compared to the first season. Kinda figured... But overall good episode and nice intro to some of the main characters in this arc especially with the ones coming from America. This is one of my favorite arcs from the manga so I really hope they adapt this well. I got a feeling they will though with this setup already and with Eiichirou's training session. Marcia's quite an interesting girl. |

| Great start. Already liking where this arc is going. Marcia's pretty cute too. Love during the opening how Maruo signs a camera screen like pro's after a match, hope we get to see that too! |

| Been a while since I heard the Op song, nostalgic. This is a good episode, with the pacing as well as showcasing the difference between a Pro and an 'Amateur'. As a manga reader, I can't wait for the next few episodes...super excited. Overall, entertaining and I'm glad Baby steps anime is back ^_^ |
| I'm glad they didn't change the opening song, it's such a good song, not to mention it fits the show so much. Good start to the season, can't wait till maruo gets much stronger. |

Glad they keep the old OP, I've been wondering what kind of OP they'd be using since the theme of believing yourself is much more relevant for the 2nd season. | OMG IT'S BACK! I didn't know it would make me so happy to hear the same OP song again! This is so going to be my favorite series of the season. I couldn't stop grinning soon as the OP started. I'm so grateful that Studio Pierrot is willing to make a s2 this soon! :') And I feel like the quality improved. |

| So glad Baby Steps is finally returns and start Florida arc which might cover at least between 5-10 episodes and looks like the animation is a bit better than season 1.Can't wait for Ei-chan to improve himself and i notice the beach scene with Natsu in the opening <3 .... |

| Apparently everyone in america is fluent in Japanese, I don't blame them, its hard to find good american voice actors in Japan but they just didn't even try and show that they were in america. They instead just repeatedly told you they were in america and showed an abundance of characters with blonde hair and blue eyes. Good episode all-in-all though! |
| Damn, been waiting for this season for a while now. Glad as hell that it's gonna be a 2 cour that will definitely keep me interested :3 First episode was good. Very interesting introduction and I like Marcia too. She's cute ^__^ Will be fun to see how Eiichiro will improve by playing abroad |

In the anime, you can somehow deduct that they actually speak English because Maruo sometimes make a confused face with question marks around his face. That well yeah, they should have made it more clear in the context... |

| Not exactly sure how I feel about them not changing the OP, although I still do like it. In other words, apparently now, everyone in America can speak perfect japanese, guessing they did it to prevent the voice actors from speaking in Engrish. Good start overall. |

| Ahhhhhhhhh it's back i'msohappyyyyyy ;;; What a perfect start to the Florida arc. And it only gets better from here! For anyone curious, everyone in Florida speaks English in the manga. Even Eiichiro. (His struggles are the realest.) His Japanese friend translates for him from time to time (as does Mark), but most dialogue is legit in English (and GOOD English). It's great. Obviously, it"s a bit difficult to hire that many good English voice actors and have it still be an enjoyable watch, so Pierrot went with the logical all-Japanese route. |

| Great to see this show return! Somehow, I'm not disappointed for not having a new OP song. Believe in Yourself is so fitting for Baby Steps, it deserves to stay for the series throughout. New characters are quite awesome, especially Alex with Kamiya Hiroshi's voice. Marcia is pretty cute too! (I sense brocon in her. Won't be surprised if she takes interest in Eiichiro though). :3 Takasaki is concerned for her bae Ei-chan; e-mailing Souji to look after him. I can't wait for the romance segment! >.< First match against Alex didn't go too well for Eiichiro, but that's only the beginning. Pretty excited to see what strategy he comes up with! Solid start. I still think this show is underrated. All that Hypekyuu!! completely overshadowed Baby Steps last Spring. |

That well yeah, they should have made it more clear in the context... Yeah, one of my biggest issues concerning the anime adaption of the Florida arc so far. They changed a couple scenes too. Like when Eiichiro was protesting and wanted to play Alex, the coach was actually there to translate the issue in the manga. Ei-chan only knows basic/easy English, and that's fairly clear in the manga because there's usually always someone there to translate for him (the other Japanese guy or Mike) or they talk to him in simple English. The diversity of characters and effort to do that in the manga is commendable... as for the anime, not so much. I noticed they also cut some minor details... which overall doesn't affect the series much, but it makes it seem that Ei-chan is able to develop on his own... in the Florida arc the amount of help he gets from everyone is tremendous, and he learn a lot from his 2 weeks. For example - the 2 step instead of 3 step thing was actually brought up by Ei-chan's coach in the manga, not suddenly realized by himself like they showed in the episode. Such spoilers in the OP lol. I'm kind of glad they kept the OP song, since it's so befitting the series. I'm spoiled about what happens because I read the manga, but I'm sure I can enjoy the adaptation too. But if you all get the chance, read the manga. ^^ Also, I don't know how I feel about Kamiya Hiroshi as Alex. XD |
| Believe in Yourself is such a fitting and catchy OP, I'm glad they kept it. I remember how I kept replaying it over and over when the full song came out, and I still listen to it pretty often. The animation in the OP was quite fluid, and I love the camerawork. Hopefully most of the budget didn't just go to that :P But yeah, I feel like they upped the quality a bit this time around at least. As for the episode itself, I enjoyed it very much. I felt a tad confused when they jumped right into the arc, but that wasn't much of a problem. It was fun seeing Ei-chan be surprised at everything, heh. It's definitely a whole different world, not just the cultural differences, but how it really is like a tennis town. Everything for tennis! Also, Ike. Love that guy. So happy to see Baby Steps back~ |

| I missed that catchy OP, so I don't really mind that it's back. Good start to the 2nd season. Marcia is really cute. And Megumi Han is the best. So glad she's in three shows this season. |
| Woot, Baby Steps is back! :D And it retained the first season's opening. ^^ Very enjoyable start. It's always amusing to see the reactions of new people when they see Maruo taking notes. Gotta love how he's soaking up every opportunity to learn. Kamiya Hiroshi has found his way into this series too. O.o Haha, well that's pretty rad. |
