First felt felt a little slow imo but the final battle with Ouma and the others was worth it.

The ending had a climatic feel to it although it was rather predictable as well. Lol, of course they had to play some flashbacks of the fun times they had before the final battle as well. Gotta keep those memories~

Well it was a nice ending tho i do agree with @Rorek that i want to see more of this.
I want to know what happens to the characters ones they arive in Efidorc or however it's spelled.
In any case it was a nice anime, shamefully PA works got destroyed so it might be a while before we see something else from them...

Well they need at least 3 months to repair the HQ so i guess Uchouten Kazoku s2 will need to wait for a while lol.

Yeah, a bittersweet ending. I think that was the first big smile we saw from Kennosuke in that film they made. Almost made me shed a tear right at that moment.

I hope we will get at least an OVA too, for a better conclusion. It was unfortunate that they rushed the ending. It still worked out, though, but it could've been a little bit better.

Kuromukuro was probably my favorite spring show. Criminally underrated and highly enjoyable. I can't ask for more.

10/10.

Just like the other said. A bittersweet ending but I do enjoy that ending and seeing them grow up especially Koharu.

Anyways hoping for a OVA or a movie where Ken return to Earth.

Wow, they really manged to make a decent finale for this show. I can't really believe it.
I dunno If I'm still up for a sequel, but I might watch it. Well that's if they gonna make one of course.
Anyway, I'm gonna rate this anime a 7 (or 8?) out of 10 score over all.

at this rate, screw portraying conflict of efidolgs, i just want portrayal of kennosuke marrying yukina & my dream is concluded

just give me another time skip after efidolg total defeat OVA

one of the better anime of previous spring, it does need to be watched in 5 episode since this anime is rather hard to gather compared to the rest of its competitors, and early 4 episode doesn't give good judgement how main character interact with each other

and good to know rita survived, kinda dissapointed & happy about it, hope there's more coma patient of them efidolgs slaves

and camera dude twist is an asspull i can't even begin what to think of it, didn't hate it much
he's still useless, so is his one dimensional dissection addict dad
i wonder where kaya dude even live with, probably his dad

Went and watched it raw. Not disappointed. I found the writing clumsy thorough but it all held up rather solidly in the end. It could have been better but also way worse. Totally up for a eventual sequel.

And so draws the conclusion of another one of the sleeper hits from Spring into Summer. It's ashame to see it end because I was really hoping for there to be more but hopefully we get a season 2. Otherwise we are left with an open ending.

I really liked this open ending. Everything is blended perfectly, and I can say that the ending is very satisfying despite it being open for continuations.

One of the most underrated shows of 2016, glad I picked this up. I probably won't get the same experience as watching this show. Bravo P.A. Works...

8/10 Great start and really climatic ending, some episodes were quite meh but still the show was able to polish everything nicely.

It's a bit cringy when Yukina chase after Kennosuke before the time skip, but otherwise, being a mecha anime, it is pretty good.

Imagine if Kennosuke really take Yukina to space.............. along with Kaya...

[After Time Skip]
Mika became a reporter.
Akagi became a soldier as a trainee.
Kaya became a traveling explorer.
José became a scriptwriter?
Graham went back to UK.
Tom became a GAUS trainer.
Liu Shenmei went back to China.
Yukina, along with Sophie and Mozumi, went to space to look for Kennosuke.

Basically this.

A very sweet ending, though lack of a true conclusion does hurt it a bit (P.A. Works did make a movie for one of their series (Hanasaku Iroha) before, so its not impossible for Kuromukuro to have one for that last battle). Very underappreciated anime in my opinion. Not the exact best at anything it does, but it does everything pretty damn well, and it offers the elements of what I like from P.A. Works shows without any nonsense or boredom.

Usually I can't enjoy mecha Anime because of shitty shounen direction and characters. This one was totally different, exactly the PA Works style which I love.

Good last episode. Whole show was 8/10 most of the time and the last episode fit. Neither super bad nor super great but it was a good last episode and I like if stuff is shown that happens a few years later (like at the end of the episode). I can safely stay with 8/10 as final score.

Not a great show but it was good and entertaining all the time - better than most other 2-cour shows. Nowadays it is 1 cour (with maybe a 2nd seasone some time later) or split cour most of the time and the 2-cour shows are getting rare. And if there is a 2-cour show it tends to get boring often - especially the middle part.

Kuromukuro did not have this problem. (Maybe being original work without having to adapt a boring source material helped here.) Also I liked most of the chars. Main chars were nice and the side chars nice as well. (Usually I don't like main chars - most of the time they are made boring in other anime and the side chars are more interesting.)

Might not watch beach bonus episodes/OVAs but if there was more story progression with a sequel movie/OVA or even a 2nd season (maybe 1-cour then - would be enough) I'd definitely watch it.

This is easily one of my favorite shows from 2016, if not my favorite. At this point I would say some sort of a sequel is confirmed for sure. Maybe it will get a movie sequel, like Hanasaku Iroha, since that was P.A. Works's 10th anniversary project.

Even if this never gets a sequel, I'll be fine with that.

10/10

Criminally underwatched show.

It was satisfying finale, everyone realizes their destiny yet it was still open enough to leave the door ajar. The series had very rough edges that weren't smoothed over throughout but I can't deny it was a fun ride.

Fitting ending for Kennosuke though, his role was always to fight forever to save his clan and now the world.

I really do feel that this was a good ending since the U.N hated kennosuke, muetta and zero. They couldn't live in earth as prisoners since they were feared. At least this way since they left to fight for not just the future of earth but also other planets it feels like a really good open ending.

Not sure why anyone would want a season 2 of this show. The soul of the series revolved around the interactions between all the characters, but with this ending, even if you were to get a sequel, you'd only have 6 characters in all (Yukina, Muetta, Sophie, Kennousuke, butler-kun and Demon-bro) fighting in a war against the rest of Demon-bro's universe. This would literally become another Star Wars or Macross wannabe, with just a handful of characters and a plot about pure war zone shenanigans.
Where's the fun in all that?

The ending here, what with the implication of war continuing in a far off galaxy, seems legit the best way to go. Yukina having the option to go after Kennousuke after 5 years (plus the fact that she can tell he's still alive) indicates hope for the world and for their relationship. No bittersweetness here at all. This would be the perfect point to end things on a high (or would you guys rather the Effidolg war?).

All in all, they made it as realistic as they could, and I for one approve. Top it off with the fact that the setting was in Kurobe, a place I have fond memories of, makes this show all the better.

Having finished it, I'm really conflicted about it. I think the anime it most closely reminds me of, in terms of overall aftertaste, would be Cross Ange. It's a mishmash of some really dumb ideas that manages to be entertaining at times. I found myself laughing at a few parts while facepalming at others. If I were to summarize it in one sentence, I guess it would be, "this might be really stupid, but at least I had some fun." The ending was a bit disappointing and I was hoping for more resolution, but I doubt PA Works will make anything afterwards.

A nice open ending that felt a little bittersweet.

I found it funny when Sophie told the camera kid what everyone here has been saying for so long now. "You're lucky to have survived for this long". But despite that, he still was determined to go with Yukina to join Ken and the other, but alas, Tom prevented that from happening.

Ken, Muetta and Oni made it and with the 5 year time skip, Yukina, Sophie and Sebastian are ready to join them on a VERY long trip. If any sequel, be it a second season, movie or even on OVA, is made, I wonder if it will continue where the show ended? The ending what very satisfying personally, so although Kuromukuro is P.A. Works' 15th anniversary project, making any sort of sequel might be a bit tricky.

Overall, Kuromukuro is one of the most underrated titles of 2016. Great character development along with a stellar soundtrack, lovely art and very good animation in both 2D and 3D, it's a shame that Kuromukuro isn't viewed of talked about here more than it is.

8/10 is my overall score. =)

Better than expected ending. Not quite a "happy" ending, with the 3 outsiders leaving Yukina behind. I would have preferred it had ended there.

OMG grown up Sophie <3

4/10 (below average) So many inconsistencies between scenes. A bit of story proofreading might have done some good. This series could have been gold if it had better drama like a lot of PAWorks other stuff. This was lacking as a mecha series and lacking in drama.

Long live Yukina x Kennosuke!

Its always hard to say goodby to a long anime that you followed from the ep1 ;|
This episode was cool, only that 5 year shift felt a little rushed. if they could have cut some stuff from the slow paced episodes and made the 2ed part of this episode, a full final with a few more minutes in the 5 years later part, its would have been much better imo.
Overall i really liked this anime and same as others, hoping for a S2 or a movie. Ill give it 9/10 :)

It looked like the ending could be pretty bad and rushed, but it felt really satisfying. I don't think we need a second season, but a movie about the war would be welcome.

Overall, pretty satisfying mecha, maybe the best I've seen from the recent five years. It had some SoL moments that dragged longer than they should, but the characters were pretty likeable. I kind of like that it ended with Kennosuke and co going to Zeru's planet rather than fighting a huge Efidolg fleet on Earth, because lets be honest, there's no way they could beat an entire fleet on Earth. They would have to pull out some Yamato tier asspulls to win that fight.
