I agree. There aren't many shows that run so long but reset their characters and have so many stand out. Some shows go 300 episodes and struggle to have multiple good characters.
It's close to the goal so that's good enough. I'll probably always stay with forwards with a 5* weak foot. It's a mental thing at this point. I was invited to Ultimate Team 20 Beta and after playing five or so games... there is very little difference. Main things I noticed are that players turn quicker and finesse shots are bad. Same. I don't really watch football much anymore but this transfer window was very crazy. Most of my investment is from fantasy football nowadays. I was impressed that Utd turned down Dybala due to excessive wage demands. Never thought I would see the day.
I remember how they kept releasing Skyrim on so many different platforms and then announced Blades for mobiles. I thought it was funny they didn't call it what everyone thought it was. It's an annoying practice. FromSoft haven't put it into any of their main games yet, so they will keep it going... Hopefully. I like Cyberpunk as a genre so I'm hoping the game is good. I like the idea of the game, but the clips we've seen so far haven't shown me much of the RPG/Open World aspect. If it's more a shooter with the other two used less then I'll be disappointed. I'm sure CDPR will embrace micro transactions eventually.
I played XIV a while back when it started improving but it was hard to get into. I understand what you mean. Not many new players coming into XIV but the same bunch of people continuing to play it.
JoJolion is still a ways away yeah. It could possibly be the final JoJo, since Araki is old now and the anime series could catch up to the manga. Artwise it looks like I would expect it too. The art in the manga is a little bit more detailed. This next episode will tell us how well the action set pieces and violence will be. The manga is supremely violent so I'm expecting them to tone it back a bit. It looks like they will cover the whole of the opening arc in this season, so I'm glad for that.
RT. I've not used an attacker with less than a three star weak foot since Podolski was at Arsenal haha. I do concede some crazy goals to weak foots but I guess if you force someone to the weak side, eventually they should score... Even from 25 plus yards. That's sad to hear. I can't imagine EA would be very popular on there considering their choices and responses to FIFA points. I would hope Europe bans FIFA points but we will see. I saw the XP reveal for Ultimate team and was hoping they took a page out of Madden and were going to allow players to get boosts for accomplishing certain feats but nope.
Nice. That's the one I went with too. The third evolution typing made my mind up for me. Using it on the train? That's bold. Must be confident of not getting robbed. I don't think anyone would do that here. I hope they actually reveal Bayonetta 3, but part of me thinks it has been cancelled. So many Nintendo exclusives to look forward too. I liked how RDR2 took so many things out of Breath of the Wild, though.
Was never a fan of Wolfenstein, so I wasn't sure why they put so much effort into it. If I remember correctly the recent games were panned for being short. I'd like to think they'll learn from these mistakes for Elder Scrolls and Starfield but Todd Howard is a snake oil salesman at heart. Bioware and Bethesda are doing their best to alienate their fanbases... Although I think everyone has given up on Bioware now.
I agree. RPGs coupled with adventure games are ok and even action is fine but making the action the main focus is such a detractor. I would like to see what would happen with a Witcher 4. Every game in the series became progressively more action oriented and people loved that. You know a genre is in dire straights when Japan is copying the western market. Pour one out for turn based games. I even enjoyed the brief return of strategy RPGs with Wasteland 2 (let's ignore 3) and Divinity, but I guess sales numbers put them out.
Basically all the shows that I'm watching too. I'm also watching that dumbbell show too, though. :P JoJo is top tier man. There's still so much to come. Steel Ball Run and JoJoLion are going to be so good. Yeah, I think they realised Stardust Crusaders was too long so decided to condense future parts. I'm a big fan of the Vinland manga, so I'm hoping the anime does it justice.
Was the same for me too. Every FIFA I always need a striker who can do everything. It just makes the game so much more bearable and gives you alternative attacking options. The pace and strength upgrade for defenders really changes the game around this time of year. I've always wondered if there is some hidden mechanicb that gives guys with 2* weak foots a much better strong foot or something. I stopped playing around the time Aouar came out, but I'm sure he is immense. Looks like a more well rounded TOTS Fekir.
I get that about teams with Silva as the defensive mid. The lack of defensive positioning should punish people more. I think short and weak wingers are just so hard to use. They get bullied off of the ball so easily. Bale was immense for me. Terrible to dribble with, but rapid and dominant in the air. I wonder what player will be similar to him next year... if any lol. Very true. I'll probably always keep playing FIFA, even when I dislike the game haha. Are the forums still going strong?
Classic Activision. A lot of these MMO type games have been getting bad press over the last year or so. I guess if they leave something out for long enough, they should get the formula right. What starter did you pick, if you've started the game already? They are really going to cripple the 3DS to help the Switch lol.
That's very true, but I can't imagine anyone was surprised to see Fallout 76 was bad. People were super hyped for Fallout 4 and it was breaking sales records. I remember when the Pipboy edition was reselling on eBay for almost £300 and now it doesn't even sell for the original retail price lol. I hope Bethesda realise that RPGs made them big and not action focussed games, but they'll just look at the sales and decide for themselves. When they reveal the gameplay for Elder Scrolls 6 and it looks even more dumbed down, I'll probably give up on Bethesda.
That's smart. I need to update my list for the shows I've seen over the last two years, but I can't be asked lol. Are you watching Vinland Saga? :P
That's a nice team. I missed out on the FB Alves and Juanfran cards early in the year. Would have made the early game a little better. It took ages for a solid RB to come out in the game. How is Rivaldo? A lot of people made a big deal about his weak foot. TOTS Goretzka. <3
TOTS Messi is a dream card to get. My pull from the Ultimate TOTS was Suarez. I thought I'd get back into the game to try him, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'd get Ronaldo, if you plan to do the SBC. Him and Eusebio are essentially the same, but the height difference is a game changer. Autodefending is such a dull experience. They need to punish people who leave things to the CPU. Human error should be punished but making it so you don't even need to attempt defending yourself is ridiculous. I'll be honest, I've never played the Destiny games. I'm just looking forward to Borderlands 3 now.
I probably am. I finally finished Assassin's Creed Odyssey so I may start to get through games in my backlog like Nier Automata and Yakuza now. I was going to get Ultra Moon/Sun, but then I found out it was a lazy update of Sun/Moon, so I avoided it. They've been living off of that Emerald hype for years. Game Freak really killed my excitement for Sword and Shield with some of the decisions they have made. The Mad Max game really struggled with the barren wasteland setting too. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are probably still the best wasteland settings I've played. I was hoping Fallout 4 would be a step up but I was wrong lol.
Yeah the anime is much better than what the manga was. I think condensing the series has helped it massively. Diamond is Unbreakable was OP. The episode with Joseph and Kira as the villain were just so good. Yup. Can't wait for Steel Ball Run. I'm so excited that it could begin within three years.
Lol that's true. Think it had been almost two years since I last logged in.
I'm the same as you. I got back to grind towards getting some of the higher Tema of the season players but never got them in my rewards. If league SBCs weren't a thing, I don't know how I would have played it for so long. This is the team I got to, before I gave up during the La Liga TOTS. https://i.imgur.com/k2ItM4G.jpg I'm holding the game is balanced for FIFA 20, but seeing how lazy EA were with gameplay fixes this year, I'm not expecting much.
You'd have to look to things like Pokémon and the recent Digimon games to get turn based games from Japan now. I ended up buying Persona, but still haven't opened it lol. I'll need to beat a couple of games before I get around to it. I still haven't beaten the first chapter of Red Dead 2 haha. I've heard a lot of good stuff about God of War. I fell out of love with the series, after 3, but maybe I should give this one a go.
I hadn't heard good things about the Fist game. The trailer mostly focussed on mini games, so I guess they just threw in a bunch of them to extend the playtime. I wonder if they just phoned it in thinking the Fist of the North Star brand would sell on its own?
Long time no speak, Low Ki. I hope you have been well?
I think it says a lot that the last time we spoke FIFA 17 was a topic. I'm in the same boat as you, in regards to not updating.
I find trading to be more fun than actually playing FIFA nowadays. Gameplay is just so tedious.
I've had an unopened copy of FFXV for over a year now lol. Congrats on finishing Persona, not sure I'll ever get around to it. With work, I don't think I can play an RPG like that again. Have you gotten around to any games recently?
I'm actually waiting to watch the rest of it haha. My friend and I are doing a contract, so they gave me Gintama and I gave them Erin from my favourites (and I'll give them more), but I need them to finish YYH before then so we can start this adventure. LOL
I really enjoyed the 8th episode, for whatever that is worth though. The comedy was on point there.
A little late, but yeah, you should go through the Slam Dunk manga, especially if you enjoy the anime. I really like a few of the series I listed back then, so let me know if you ever watch any of them. :)
Still haven't bought Nioh yet lol. I hope it isn't too much like God of War. A very one and done game. Nier also has a trophy for staring underneath her skirt, so you know it is good! Went through Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs and Syndicate. Platinumed two of them, too. Got through the opening sequence of MGSV and haven't gone back to it. I'll probably go through both Yakuza games at the same time.
FIFA has been lacking for me for a few years now. Pretty much stopped playing after a few weeks. I remember trading at work when it first came out. How many coins are you on? :O Also, what's your current team setup?
I'm always right about Mass Effect. ;) I might get it when it is in the bargain bin, but looking at gameplay videos doesn't make me very excited for it. I'll always say that Bioware has been lousy since Origins and Mass Effect 1. I've heard good things about Persona 5, so I'll probably get that when it's on sale. Not sure I'll bother with Horizon, though. How long is Persona?
Of course. It's amazing that HxH has sold so many copies despite the awful way it's run. Yeah. Level E isn't that good. YYH is probably my favourite out of his shows.
Definitely. It's probably my biggest gripe with most manga. Very few endings feel organic, because they end up prolonging it to sell more volumes. It's a good thing Gundam The Origin was based on something that had all ready finished. No one for that to fizzle out lol. That's why JoJo is the best. No chance for it to fizzle out, because Araki can just kill all of them and start with a new cast. Very Original.
It won't be hell on my wallet. XD Gueriila Games have never made anything that I've liked and looking at Horizon, they still haven't. I might get Persona, though. I'm tempted to get Nioh, Nier and Yakuza. All 3 look decent. It sucked that South Park got pushed that far back. I was looking forward to it. I guess I'll have to hold out until RDR 2. Sleeping Dogs was on sale on PSN for £4 a few weeks back, so I've gone back to playing that too. Such a good game.
I agree. Diamond is Unbreakable is better than Stardust Crusaders. I think you might be mistaking the numbers. :P
Nice. Slam Dunk is pretty excellent, even if the anime couldn't cover all of the manga. Have you started reading the manga now? haha yeah a lot of the shows this season aren't very good. Tiger Mask at least has that lame wrestling charm going for it. Needs more Stephanie and Mick Foley backstage promos, though.
It was good in places. Araki definitely loved Fist of the North Star. It's especially obvious in the first part. Thankfully he makes something more entertaining out of it all. Old anime wouldn't be anime without recycled frames.
I won't say hidden gems, but they are slightly more obscure stuff. If you want you can check out: (can't see these on your list)

lol more than a few actually but I thought those shows were pretty good/great.
Yeah. Togashi is known for working when he wants. Lots of hiatuses. Plus, who wouldn't want to live off of their wifes paycheck. Sudden/Rushed endings are ridiculously common in manga, unfortunately. Too many series overstaying their welcomes and people lose interest in them forcing a sudden end as the series gets cancelled. Harvey Dent was right.
Yeah. I got to about the end of Mad Max and stopped playing lol. Seems like it'll be an easy platinum. Haven't even tried Deadpool lol. Syndicate is pretty garbage, but thankfully it's better than Unity and Black Flag. I don't think that's possible. Mass Effect is better than Assassin's Creed (but both are a shadow of their former selves). I'd like if Ubisoft made proper Splinter Cell games. :P
I think you've got your JoJo list wrong. It's 4 >= 2 > 3 > 1. Fingers crossed Part V is soon, but I wouldn't expect too much from it. It's probably my least favourite of the 8 parts. Kira was too good. Love how it ends for him. Mona Lisa is great. Yeah. That day was pretty stacked and Bungou did improve over S1.
That's every new season nowadays, although with fewer best stuff. :P
@Fist of the North Star, yeah, the story for it is all over the place. Not even worth following for the most part. Japan obviously has an inbreeding problem. I think some people just gave up on the story and watched the show for it's ridiculously over the top action. That Yuria part was cringe.
I'm certain people call it great because it's such a crazy series. His tatatatatatatatatatatatata... never gets old. XD Yeah. S2 is garbage. Jotaro does not doff his cap to it.
Yeah. Keeps me optimistic that there'll be more collected editions for it. I know what you mean. While not an indy, I was super annoyed when Sojourn was cancelled. That was ridiculously good. Weirdly, I read Southern Bastards Vol 1, but haven't bothered with Scalped. I'll note your recommendations and check some of them out. I have read A Dark Night, and it's pretty great.
I didn't know he was paid per word. That explains why the dialogue is so long. Ah I see. That makes sense. Wouldn't want to hurt sales... they have Civil War 2 and it's after effects for that.
We do. I'd much rather play an RPG that tries to be an RPG, but nowadays the last thing an RPG game wants to be is an RPG. Just look at Fallout, Final Fantasy, Witcher, and Mass Effect. More focused on action and simplifying the rest of the features. It's pretty disappointing. Combat was definitely better than Mass Effect 1, but having pretty much every quest focus on combat in 2 and 3 was pretty lame. The ending is garbage, but I don't think Mass Effect 3 was a good game even if you ignore the ending. I used to like Bioware and since Dragon Age Origin's they've disappointed me release after release. Nice. I'll be picking that Yakuza up then.
I started Ground Zeroes, in anticipation of Phantom Pain (picked up the Collector's Guide on clearance too lol). I'd feel bad for anyone who bought GZ new. Game is ridiculously short. I thought the ops would be on different maps, but it's just different variations of the same thing. Got Mad Max, Deadpool and AC: Syndicate, too. Didn't expect much from Syndicate and got even less.
Yeah. It's good that JoJo has so much source material, that it never feels like an advert for the manga. JoJo's situation is probably most similar to Durarara. A series that's probably more popular in the west than it is in Japan (although JoJo is popular their too). I'm quite confident that they'll get to SBR. It should be even more likely if they can finally get the blu ray's released outside Japan.
I've only ever heard his Miles Morales work lol. Never watched Community :P. haha Keaton could pull off Kraven. I'm hopeful that they'll have Kraven in one of the sequels. He has to be. Kraven's Last Hunt, is probably my favourite Spidey story.
Good to hear about YYH. It does get a lot more shouneny after that part and you can tell he took inspiration from DB for some of it. He fixed some of those things for HXH, but I didn't like many of the characters as much as I did in YYH. It did peak lol. :(
I think there are like 6 or 7 volumes out, but the hardcover sets combine three volumes into one set, so I guess that release will be a very slow one. It won't get cancelled. I just took a quick look and the first print for every edition seems to sell out really quickly.
haha. I just don't like how all his characters seem to be given dialogue that makes them sound like they live in the countryside. Sounds like something I should try. I could never bring myself to subscribe to the WWE Network. I dislike their product too much to support them now. That 6 month gap in adding stuff sounds ridiculous, though. They must have a lot of stuff if that doesn't need to be shortened.
I've ordered the game, so I'll probably play it soon. Might finally play Ground Zeroes, since I downloaded it almost a year ago from PS+. That Metal Gear Zombies seems like such a random thing for them to do. I bet they saw that garbage game The Last of Us and saw how well the sales were and thought they'd like a piece of that. hmmm I'm not all that hyped for Kingdom Hearts 3. Same goes for Andromeda. After the letdown that was Mass Effect 2 and the abomination that was Mass Effect 3, they'd have to pay me to play that game. It's even worse when they advertise the game as "taking the role playing out of RPG" *rolls eyes* Red Dead Redemption will be good, though, I'm looking forward to Styx Shards of Darkness, myself. The first game was a pretty solid stealth game and hopefully the next one improves on it. Zelda Breath of the Wild looks really good, too. I haven't played a Yakuza game in ages, so I might need to pick up the ones of the PS4 (if there are any).
Definitely. The worldwide sales for the JoJo manga are really good, so that alone should be enough for them to put out another part. I'm almost certain they'll be able to adapt all the parts up to 8.
Prowler was my second guess and it could probably be the character he plays. Not sure who he'll play, but I'm hoping Kraven gets into one of the future movies, although I'm sure they'll go the route of building up to a Carnage/Venom triple threat.
Yeah, you're pretty much right about it. I've seen that Marvel and DC have pretty much started releasing collected versions of these events along with "companion" editions. It's easier to read these events well after they've finished then it is to read them as they're released. Ah I've heard of Saga. I was waiting for them to release a hardcover version, and I just saw that it sold well enough for them to release a second volume, so I'll be picking that up soon.
Frank Miller's run with Daredevil is probably the best superhero comic run I've ever read. It's just so good. Ah. I can tell you like Claremont (I don't lol). I was a fan of those stories, especially there animated iterations, but it's so hard to read the collected editions for them, since back then events weren't released chronologically. It's so weird seeing stories that go back to the narrative after several months have passed in the story.
I was never interested in Aaron's Thor story, but I've heard that Unworthy Thor started off really well, so I might go back and follow what led to that. Original Sin was pretty weak.
Yeah. Your reply is already long enough. :P
I know you like MGS so I'm not surprised that you enjoyed the new one. I've heard that quite a few fans were let down by 5, because of the open world setting not complimenting the heavy story from previous entries. In a game that gives me stealth as an option I never bother with run and gun, I just restart the mission if I'm caught lol, but it's good to have choice. Noted. I'll be sure to keep the pretty much naked mute with me. Yeah. I was pretty stoked to learn Kiefer Sutherland was voicing Snake, but it's disappointing to know that he hardly has any lines. Witcher 3 is another game I need to get around to. I dislike the gameplay, but the narrative for it is pretty damn good. Deus Ex is the best. I only wish they'd do what Thief did and add options where if you kill some or get caught you fail and the game forces you to restart.
You do. The guy is built stronger than John Cena. They are all really good. JoJo 4 is on the verge of ending, so fingers crossed for a part 5 reveal. Yeah. That's what I like about them too. Other long running battle shounens seem to be too long with too much time spent on arcs.
It was. I'm not a fan of RDJ's overly sarcastic Iron Man, but that final shot with Spidey and Iron Man flying past the screen was hot awesome. They have Michael Keaton, so I'm hoping he is atleast a threat, but Marvel movies have taught me to not expect much from Marvel villains. What's your theory on his role? I don't think his age will allow for the Miles Morales Spiderman, so I'm thinking he'll play the Tinkerer or something.
I get what you mean about creating a massive event and using all those series to expand it (or in most cases make sense of it), but it essentially locks people out of understanding what happens in the main event. I know Infinity has a ridiculous number of side stories that explain quite a few of the different perspectives, but unless people were following it all from day one, it'd be pretty hard to get it. I know quite a few people just use wiki to get a decent idea about the plot points in these stories. I absolutely despise the Inhumans vs X-Men story that's currently running. XD I've recently read the Marvel Zombies and started Spiderman: Kraven's Last Hunt (So good), what are some of your favourite stories from Marvel or DC?
They do. I remember MvC2 had like 50 characters and MvC3 had a smaller cast and had one or two DLC characters. Fingers crossed the awful reception Street Fighter received will make them change, but the Marvel license will probably be enough to get solid sales. Don't forget Phoenix's recolours from 3 and they didn't even have a Dark Phoenix skin. XD
Arkham Origins is indeed better. It has the best boss fights in the whole series coupled with the worst voice acting. The Deathstroke part is what annoys me most. He's pretty much Batman's equal (probably better) in combat and they decide to go the route of a stupid stealth tank fight. I don't even know what genius came up with the idea of tanks and stealth?! I've been liked some of the game, but I've disliked quite a lot too. I reckon I'll anger myself more and finally play MGSV (since it's £10) and I really need to play Mankind Divided. Stealth games are so good!
Cool. I guess your mind is exhausted from Kenshiro not winning. Hakusho is too good. Probably my favourite battle shounen... oh after JoJo of course.
It totally is. I generally detest Marvel's big crossover stories, since they always have poor characterisation and end in the most unsatisfying way. Secret Wars wasn't anything different, but a Dr Doom focused story is never bad. I don't know, it's Capcom so I'm sure they'll find a way to do something stupid like make them all DLC characters. Ha I actually got that Doom statue for £40 which is much cheaper than what it's worth. :)
Yeah. They'll want to give Vader a cool moment. Wrong. The best scene is when emo Harley Quinn takes her shirt off. It'll be great when Aquaman tells Batman to save his dad from drowning.
Nice. I know what you mean. It was hilarious. The early episodes build up their fight like it's the biggest event ever and now every person he fights is on another level to Shin. XD
I've gotten to the Arkham Knight fights. Such garbage. It's all so unbatman like, except maybe the part where the Knight is perched on the sniper spot and you have to get to him.

Have you been watching JoJo 5? :P
I really enjoyed the 8th episode, for whatever that is worth though. The comedy was on point there.

Apologies for taking so long to reply lol.
Also, that Spiderman trailer hnnngh
