Ok i know its so early in it with it only just entering its 2nd phase after a rough start, but man zi-o is really reaching the point of completely winning me over cause its so damn fun now. Its now moved away from cameos of past riders and has moved into the concept of facing future kamen rider series that dont actually exist, its such a fun and playful concept to see all these protagonists from not real series get this cool moment to shine and they are putting a surprising amount of work into their transformations and designs and everything despite being minor one off characters, like look how cool the one off rider is[0]=68.ARCfGNM5ntBHlpxBF62k8b_xCKbcD2lYcbKBmot2biuyF8EyAqWsDkSLtice4uyagsod71-zpdvitP9i0r1_T9bsXaOJIv9qoTXHBiEdDxhpMQcSAJqNH24btfZ0QYqmZSQftsvtPzVa3aOVJY-Nche4lh5PKEFmpSJ3QPJS_kNgMFdhy9WvvCdBVV_konfbMWroPQXwPWDn4YIAMMT9HVEEN8xS85H-177d6B7XOHcgKDdH8fAkHwmG-OcAVOa-wsGLRbxzzlc609ybhVRUwmTim3If4cRgIp8bIcaHbxOLvWPi9cPrYrLXoJgkAf_HD2CDChVC8wgf6GYeRgkq-DZKzv0TgLfc&__tn__=-R

oh so how was hibiki anyway, does it deserve the negative hype it gets?
JizzyHitler Jan 1, 3:51 PM
Gotta say kuuga's final fight really highlights the effectiveness of simplicity, it was literally 3 minutes straight of 2 people punching eachother in snow and its somehow the most memorable part of the series for me, im a sucker for that setting in a fight and the simple brutality of it all just made the whole thing intense as hell with how damn bloody it got, again lending itself well to how much i love snow as a setting cause blood setting on the white snow is just so fucking aesthetic, every punch seriously had loads of impact.

But if im being honest, ending a series with a good ol fist fight is like my big weakpoint especially when the series up till then is more reliant on other aspects like weaponry or some type of suit to carry its action, its why mgs 4 has like the best final fight in all of gaming cause its a series about crazy over the top cybernetic soldiers with crazy superpowers and giant mech weapons, but the way it ends is just 2 old people beating the fuck out of another, kuuga is kind of the same boat for me in that regard cause i love that these 2 borderline gods just finish their conflict with simple fisticuffs.

ooo i think is the most jovial entry other than fourze but its just got fantastic character interaction and a pretty unique dynamic between the main character and the deutaragonist.

Also it will be a good ehile before i ever get to kabuto but ill definetly talk about it when i do.
JizzyHitler Jan 1, 4:58 AM
Oh Im fully aquainted with tendo, kabuto was almost my first kamen rider cause of how much of an egotist he is. I know kabuto is ny friends fav rider series so i do look foreword to seeing it with friends. Right now we are watching ooo though, that series is a ton of fun and probably the funniest of the franchise ive seen so far.

the rumor was it wasnt meant to be a kamen rider at all and was caught between toei indecisiveness on where to take the series after blade's harshly negative reception. There was a series made by the original creator whom passed away that was meant to get a reboot that was rumored to of just been forcefully turned into a Kamen rider entry last minute when it was more meant to be a replacement.

So interestingly enough, kamen rider heisei almost died at blade which would of been insane. I feel bad for blade too cause i hear it was suffering from a absolutely abysmal production out of the staff's control and was met with just absolute terrible reception for its entire first half because of it, but when the staff actually got control over the project again the 2nd half is apparently really good and has one of the best endings in the series.

Hibiki last i saw was actually considered one of the worst in the franchise and was rather infamous cause the main rider was an actor who always wanted to be on kamen rider but the production for hibiki was so unenjoyable all around that it soured the whole thing for him. Interesting that your enjoying it so much.

Also apparently those really really bloody moments in ex aid i saw were mainly from the sequal movie trilogy which are pretty hardcore, the original show is apparently still one of the bloodiest in the franchise though considering the main character has his face grinded into a garbage bin full of broken glass in one fight midway through the series.
JizzyHitler Dec 20, 2018 8:56 PM
Also got to say ive seen a couple clips of ex aid, I didnt know it was so hardcore, like holy shit its pretty violent from the looks of it, im sure its spaced out bit still it was way bloodier than even kuuga that i really wonder how the fuck it got by.
JizzyHitler Dec 20, 2018 10:07 AM
build's pacing was insane cause so much happened in just 15 episodes, and those could still be considered the slower part of the show. The middle point of the show was so fucking endgame tier in stakes it was crazy.
JizzyHitler Dec 20, 2018 9:38 AM
Blade i sadly got a few spoilers about but it seems like its a fairly strong show overall. Faiz i know im really looking forward to, their episode in zi-o isnt super amazing or anything but it got me interested in the characters for sure. Zi-o is just a show that has an unfortunately really rough start having to combine both its own plot and throwback cameo episodes of past riders, and as a result they all suffered sadly especially since they had to be at the mercy of the returning rider's availability, for example the gaim arc barely has the main and secondary rider due to scheduling conflict where as the ghost arc the main rider was totally available and was there the whole arc (despite being one of the worst riders that tribute episode was actually the most fun of the bunch).

The series just starts to come more into its own when it started getting more time to focus on its own plot and characters which actually has some really interesting things going on now, before it was sort of just standalone arcs with very sluggish plot development but recently its been full focus on its own world as a centerpiece. The suppossed main villain is a future version of the main protagonist, theres a possibility its an imposter but recent episodes have heavily pushed it in the more interesting favor that the main character actually does become a horrible dictator in a well intentioned extremist type deal for morallyy grey reasons so hopefully it keeps going that route.

Decade actually has double the pay off too, cause he actually ends up being a major character in zi-o as well as a major antagonist atm, hes the only previous rider to last more than 2 episodes in the show and hes just overall raised the stakes of the show alot. The actor apparently just adores the role so much so he ended up being caught at a completely unrelated event for garo carrying around the kamen rider decade card prop from the show which he takes everywhere apparently.

I hope it doesnt take a turn for the worse but that is always a possibility for zi-o so ill let you know how it keeps going, but so far since around episode 9ish the series has just been on a role and getting better with each passing episode, ep 15 actually has one of my fav fights so far in the franchise (granted ive only watch fourze, kuuga, and build so not super high praise) cause it was just such an intimidating curbstomp battle that really sells the conflict as being way more serious than the jovial tone of the series before it implied

kamen rider zi-o has been killing it these past 6 weeks, really coming into its own in a very good way.

on another great note, reuben langdon, dante from dmc's mocap and voice actor randomly appearing in the music video for the op
