I try to watch shows from a variety of genres, as I think good stories can be told regardless of setting.
I tend to value the impact the story, writing, and characters have on the viewer over art and other production values.
A rating of 10 indicates absolute enjoyment. A rating of 5 indicates neither enjoyment nor revulsion (perhaps apathy, usually boredom), and a rating of 1 indicates total revulsion and dislike. You can fill in everything in between.
On a letter scale, ratings could approximately correspond to:
10: A+
9: A to A-
8: B+ to B
7: B- to C+
6: C+ to C
5: C-
4: D+ to D
3: D-
2: E
1: F...
What differentiates a 10 from a 9 is that a 10 show will impress me in some very specific, special way. A 9 show may be very fun to watch or be particularly memorable, but a 10 will usually be both along with something extra.
You will rarely see ratings below 6 since I avoid watching shows or movies I think will be a waste of time. I also do not assign scores to anything that does not contain a coherent narrative, which includes most things like music videos or experimental shorts. If they have no story to evaluate, I do not judge them. Titles like Pokemon, Digimon, and Speed Racer which I watched in my childhood are not scored either.
After graduating from college, I decided to join the military, seeking to broaden my life experiences. I currently serve in the United States Marine Corps. I am a big statistics and data nut, so MyAnimeList helps me keep track of what I watch and discover new shows.
I got into anime after randomly developing figure collecting as a hobby. Aside from shows like Pokemon or Digimon that I saw as a kid, the first real title I got into was Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, which I binge-watched in one day while I was in a holding platoon in my MOS school.
Aside from anime-related things, my interests include art, video games, and exploring different types of music. I also enjoy reading about American politics/foreign affairs/international politics.
These are anime that I think are noteworthy or memorable for some specific reason, even though I don't give them a 10.

At first I liked the anime's ending but later on when I watched it again I swapped to the manga being better. The manga had a much better buildup to the ending than the anime.
Pop Team's heavy 4koma / segmented format makes it pretty easy to watch, I also only watch the first set of voice actors so the eps are only ~12 minutes long. Definitely not a great adaptation, though.
Ehh I mean it can only get better from here and I still have faith in Trigger, but I generally hate this kind of pointless cheap symbolism. It's like yeah okay I get it, almost everything in this show is a sexual reference, but that doesn't automatically make it good. And in the show's own context it barely even makes any logical sense, like why do you really need two people in a doggy style position in the cockpit to pilot a mecha? That makes absolutely no sense. You can hide behind excuses such as "mental compatibility" but it's just as forced and unnatural nonetheless. Idk it just feels like they care more about getting a certain message across than actually making sure it fits well to the story itself. But there's still plenty of time left so hopefully Trigger can give me some somewhat satisfying explanations to why they're doing some of the things they're doing before the show's over
The manga is slightly better though because 1) it has glorious Yabuki art, and 2) it has uncensored nips
