I'm a lazy, unsociable piece of junk IRL, and as a result, have ended up on MAL with a wonderful community. I'm chronically on my laptop either writing, watching anime, reading manga, or inadvertently sleeping with math homework on the screen.
I'm open to anime recommendations, so if you'd like to share something nice with me, feel free. Manga recommendations will be turned down in some cases, simply due to the reason that I don't spend as much time on manga as I do on anime.
I accept all friend requests, unless it's from a bot. Feel free to comment on my wall or send a PM, though I can't guarantee a response all the time. I try to respond within a week or two for longer messages, but it really comes down to whether I have the energy to (and whether school plans on enslaving me).
If you think I rate anime too harshly, you can think of some of the lower scores as a point or two higher. That's what I like to think if my ratings were mostly enjoyment-based, anyway.
Oh, and one more thing: the comments on my lists may contain spoilers.
Anime I'm likely to start next: GetBackers: Dakkanya, Tsuritama, Akame ga Kill!, Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon, BANANA FISH, Black★Rock Shooter, Samurai Champloo
RATING LEGEND:
tl;dr:
10 - CAN I KISS THE ANIME
9 - Absolutely love it
8 - Shit's fire
7 - Love it
6 - Really like it
5 - meh-good
4 - meh-bad
3 - really dislike it
2 - shit sucks
1 - tie me up, beat me, burn me, and threaten me to commit suicide with a gun to my mouth,
you won't get me to rewatch shit because i already pulled the trigger.
My ratings are given out based on subjectivity rather than objectivity.
That said, I still take objectivity into account, albeit on a much smaller scale. I also obviously have biases, such as towards certain genres, studios, adaptations of games I've played, etc.; this rating system is only rudimentary and not exemplary. Manga ratings are much more relaxed, and do not follow this system!
10 - Best of the best! - A 10/10 is something unforgettably great and almost, if not completely, perfect. There were little to no flaws at all; this work was exceptional in every aspect you can think of. And if it did fail at something, something must've MAJORLY made up for it. A 10/10 truly paints a wondrous and worthy image of the anime medium, and I have the biggest respect for it.
9 - GOATed - a 9/10 does an exceedingly well job in most, if not all aspects, and is in every way a work to be looked upon for inspiration. It exceled in nearly all intelligence, creativity, or whatever it may be—it is always at least unparalleled in one way. A 9/10 is almost always free of flaws and problems, but it is not a near-perfect experience for it to earn itself a 10/10.
8 - Wonderful! - An 8/10 is amazing in what it does, and most of the time even surprises me. Majority of it had great impact and was definitely memorable. Very strong writing, creativity etc., and practically perfect in execution. Usually, no 8/10 has any major problems, and is mostly ever just dull in some aspects. Some 8/10s currently reside in the latter half of my favorites list.
7 - Amazing! - A 7/10 is well-made and well-thought-out, with many great aspects and a strong vision and execution backing it up. The writing, creativity, etc. were remarkably well-done, and never let down. Of course, not everything was fulfilled, and there may have been a few pitfalls in aspects, but overall, it was strong enough to not be completely tanked by such things. A 7/10 is a close hit as a favorite, and are a definite must-watch.
6 - Great - A 6/10 is a notably well-made work that has strong aspects backing it up and a small bit of impact. It surpasses most expectations, though of course, there are flaws and problems that were not accounted for that impacted my score, such as the writing or execution. While other great aspects hold a 6/10 up, some bring it down a bit, but not so much as to significantly hinder enjoyment.
5 - Good-ish/don't care - A 5/10 is generally an okay or mediocre experience, but with enough marks missed to disqualify it from anything higher than a 5. While some aspects were strong-standing, others were completely weak and brought the whole thing down a little. There's plenty great going for it, and there's plenty bad too. A 5/10 is—despite the lash of words—still decent, though decent to me doesn't necessarily mean entirely good. To me, a 5/10 is more something that lands smack-bang in the middle of the fine line between good and bad.
4 - Shoulda watched something else. - A 4/10 is something that fails to check too many basic boxes for it to deserve a 5 or above, and sometimes is fundamentally poor. A 4/10 is unable to surpass most expectations of a 'good' anime due to multiple problems I had with it and a few flaws, or it being just incredibly ordinary and forgettable. However, it most likely wasn't breaching 'offensive' territory, and it's definitely still at least great in some aspects, which I didn't ignore.
3 - Blatantly bad. - A 3/10 is a work that irked me in many ways by failing to do most things right, often resulting in messy writing, broken ideas as a result of terrible execution, and other poorly-done aspects of the like. A 3/10 can also be a purely forgettable nothing-burger that had such little impact, enjoyability and creativity—basically anything that could make it stand out—so as to not deserve any level of recognition.
2 - Just... no. - A 2/10 has next to nothing even remotely good about it, only ever having very insignificant and poor execution, writing, etc. It's something that is unbearable to sit through, due to the vast amount of major flaws blatantly noticeable throughout it. There were basically zero redeeming factors that played into trying to salvage even the smallest bit of good. A 2/10 is given to anything that crosses the 'offensive' border, and to things downright insulting.
1 - I̷f̷ ̷i̷t̷ ̷w̷o̷n̷'̷t̷ ̷d̷i̷e̷,̷ ̷I̷ ̷w̷i̷l̷l̷. - FUCKING BURN IT.
A 1/10 is the worst of the worst the anime medium has to offer, and is absolutely to be viewed with and given the lowest level of respect. Nothing of this score should be treated as anything more than a tragic spawn, because there is quite literally NOTHING serving as substance to it. It performs zero marks in all departments, and therefore is a fucking joke, because it's actually so unbelievably hard to achieve such a terrible status. Only Kuzu no Honkai may be excused from such harsh words, but every other anime I've given a 1/10 is a sickening, hellhole of an experience. A 1/10 disgraces the anime medium as a whole.
I'm a little dumbo and don't know how to get this thing working properly so it's most likely outdated. :P
Looks like MAL added a feature where you can see your statistics just like the MALgraph shows, so there's basically no use for this now other than for it to look cool. (i already ruined it with the big X but can't be fucked to remove it now)

Oh man it's been like;;; ages, sorry for the super late reply! A lot has happened this month, but I'm going on holiday tomorrow so I figured I should reply right now because if I don't then it'll be may by the time I have free time to reply.
I suppose being able to sleep anywhere has it's pros and cons, I'm the opposite, I can't sleep anywhere except in a bed, and even then it takes me a solid few hours to fall asleep aswell. I guess I'm just a night owl in general though, I heavily relate to it being 3AM lol, my sleep schedule is all kinds of messed up too. I always try to go to bed a little earlier than I usually do when I have work in the morning but knowing myself I'd just be laying there wide awake anyways. It's a curse lol
I believe the new Pokemon series is still under 50 episodes long right now, actually! I wanted to pick it up too initially but knowing myself I'd start having commitment issues around 20 weeks in and then not watch it for ages and then have like 300 episodes to catch up with (which I'll never get to), so I decided to just not watch it for my own sanity. Pokemon is super episodic yeah, I believe they air them out of order here on TV too so unless it's a two parter, I don't think it matters in which order you watch it. There's a ton yeah! Luckily they're all pretty short and I can just put them on in the background while doing something else, Pokemon is one of the few series I prefer watching dubbed (not because the dialogue is so much more outstanding or anything, just for the nostalgia).
I know right 😭 It amazes me that this thing was even approved at all, and that its a TV ANIME- Like, this thing aired on TELEVISIONS? Imagine being some Japanese person turning on their TV to see that dumpster fire airing, I would've immediately turned it off again. I gotta give credit to those who watched it from start to finish though, I don't think I could handle that. My brain would melt.
LOL I can relate, every season there's shows that I end up not watching that I initially wanted to watch and then the entire season I have an imaginary fist fight with myself whether I should or shouldn't pick it up after all. I felt the same way about DunMeshi initially yeah, it definitely wasn't in my "i will most definitely watch this seasonal-lineup" and it did take me a few episodes to warm up to it. I can definitely see why it wouldn't be some people's cup of tea though, hell, I didn't think it'd be MY cup of tea. I was gonna pick up Yubisaki to Renren aswell but eh, I'm not really into the romance genre, and I agree the art style put me off a bit aswell. Might still check it out in the future though because I do find the premise interesting, it's nice to see a show with a disabled protagonist.
Hunter x Hunter I need to seriously check out! I have a few friends that love that series, I just need to get over myself and my fear of long-running anime lol. I think it'll still take me a while to get to that though, I'm currently slowly but surely making my way through Monster and I think after I finish that I'll want to watch a few shorter series again before I delve into another 70+ episode show xD I kinda relate to your friend because it took me a whole year to finish Cowboy Bebop and that's not even 30 episodes long.
Time HAS passed that fast, I can't believe it's been that long since Chapter 2 either. They're working on Chapter 4 right now as far as I know, I just hope Toby doesn't overwork himself lol, I'd be happy to wait a long time for new updates to the game, quality over quantity. I've used Ebay a bit in the past and I've never had any bad experiences, as long as the seller seems legit enough and has good reviews they probably aren't selling anything shady, though you never know on online marketplaces lol. EA is where I absolutely have to draw the line when it comes to owning stuff, I've already given them enough of my money! I bought the Sims 4 base game before it became free for gods sake! And all they gave us was some dumb kit, dammit EA!
I am oversimplifying, but yeah, basically when he pointed out that I "always" do this (which I didn't cuz I knew how sensitive he is), I said "prove it by showing me chat logs/messages". He obviously couldn't, so he blocked me instead.
Yeah, I mean it was really stupid, but then again, I can't tell what a person can or cannot get triggered over. I'm a practical person, so I don't entertain the "special snowflake" mentality much. I'd rather steer clear of such people.
Talking to them is walking around eggshells anyway. Why bother?
You remind me of someone I used to talk to. He would get to the point in the most roundabout way and when I pointed it out to him, he got angry.
You don't know what can trigger people these days.
I prefer short conversations because they're easier to respond to, but if you're someone who likes to take time to respond to comments, and that too with longer comments, I'd understand if you're not interested in this conversation.
I think many people are like that, including ambiverts. We just choose the people worth our energy, and are simply polite to the other people. Do you have difficulties maintaining even small talk with people who aren't your friends?
Haha. I'm not bad with people - I just think they're tedious. If I have to mingle, I will, but I'd really rather lay in bed in front of my laptop and waste my time there.

Nice to meet you...
Have a great day 😁

I'm guessing MAL is easier for you to interact through? But I don't see you talking to anybody else here
