THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
They got some silly technology this episode imo

Pacing felt slow but I think the mystery thickens more with what they are trying to discover with the recent murder. Magata's messages feels cryptic in regards with the mysterious events happening. Oh that cliffhanger :o

Interesting. So Dr has 2 other personalities... only thing is.. judging from the mirror convo she had in the bathroom, i really wonder which personality came on to the man
Honestly i thot it was Magata before this, didnt expect it to be her other personality...
With regards to who the killer is.. really cant get any theory out yet, especially since he/she/it managed to evade Deborah when getting up that roof.

I actually start to enjoy the pacing as long as they can wrap it up decently in the end.
The mystery/suspense-aspect is really well done so far. I really wish there were more Anime like this.

So we got a view into Shiki's personality but it only made the mystery more complex.
It looks like she was killed somewhere else but the text she made on her computer suggests she knew her death was incoming.
This suggests she was killed by someone close to her.

Personally i like Sakurako more but this anime is very interesting.
I think this anime and Sakurako are the best anime this season, most anime this season are mediocre and way to much harems.

I still have no leads on anything but I think I'm just stupid. Well, there's Magata's sister who I assume is playing both herself and her sister but idk.

Well, it seems that Magata was even more messed-up than we were led to believe. Not only does she have seven alternate personalities, but it seems that she was the one forcing the issue (as it were) with her uncle in the past. Her room (more like an apartment really) was quite unusual as well; the blocks and the stuffed toys struck me as particularly odd, but they do make this theory someone had about Magata having a child seem slightly mre plausible. That aside, what does Everything Becomes F mean? And why is purple so important?

Wow. After a pretty lacking episode last week compared to the first two, this one really came out strong. I absolutely loved the tension and suspense of it and was completely engrossed in it. Lots of cryptic stuff expressed in this episode. The color purple, and the number seven being the loneliest of them all. I still cannot figure that one out. While the pacing in this is slow, the writing and the vocal interchanging is pretty swift. Swift to the point where I can almost not keep up with it. What I'm gonna do now is take my free time and re-watch the first four episodes.

Multiple personalities. A doll. All I can say is that the coming episodes are gonna be really interesting.

Oh and this definitely is being a step ahead in terms of the suspense every week than Sakurako-San. Yesterday was a great episode of that, today of this is even better.

The first episode of the series that I'm gonna rate a 5/5.

Sakurako has only better art, everything else is way better in Subete. And Subete has continuous story which is ALWAYS better than episodic. I HATE episodic (or pseudo continuous with tons of fillers like in FMA:B) anime and TV series in general.

@up
And I don't know if I would put Owari before Subete, even I'm big Monogatari fan.

Now that part of the title, "Everything becomes F," has finally been mentioned, I'm eager to learn what that means. And also the significance of purple. This is becoming more and more interesting with each passing episode.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

...dunno why, but from how Nishinosono reacted when she was asked if she remembered her parents death and stuff, I sorta get this feeling that maybe, she perhaps killed them. Because it doesn't seem like shes shown any sort of fond memories of them, and hasn't talked about them whatsoever in the show. So far.

This episode was really great. Finally feels like ur good old mystery giving us clues to start theorizing and solving it ourselves.

The multipersonality thing was interesting. Damn how the hell didn't that creep the guy out? Hearing a little girl preparing herself to have sex with him talking to herself in the bath like that. Too messed up.

Magata's dead face is just way too creepy tho.

Plus...Title drop

Great thoughtprovoking episode. Finally, we are getting bunch of clues clues. Severed hand to open the doors, robot to mimic her voice, chairs for two people.

Anyone noticed how Moe staggered for a sec when getting to Michiru's name like she was surprised when reading otherwise memorized text? Kurimoto Kishio? And Sasaki Suma? So she has multiple personality disorder.. Shiki being the doll without body while Suma is provoking one and Kishio wise-one. Did all three of them (out of ten I presume) talked to Moe or just Kishio then?

Still, I think the purpose of all those clues is just to make them think it happened in this way while in reality someone made everything up to cover the truth. For all that we know both Magata and pilot can still be alive and using props and fake blood.

Well, but it was very funny how they all went to sleep when the killer could still be somewhere around.

And the man with Shiki in the end... was he really Moe's father when she had dreamt about him?
He kinda look like younger version of Souhei which could be also viewed as a hint that girls like boys similiar to their fathers (in case of Moe).

Anyone summarizing all clues already?

We got more elements to think about with this episode. Personally, I feel bothered by the tribal statue in her room...
it seems seriously out of place, even more than the stuffed toys; also, the recurrence of "7" and "purple" (i think it's something related to the corpse?). But i think that Shiki (or one of the other personalities?) is involved in all this. As Saikawa pointed out - why make a robot (called like one of your other personalities) who can lock/unlock a door, but not open it?

Anyway, I absolutely love the ending theme

Also, a vital clue: Anyone noticed that there were 2 chairs in the kitchen.
Theory: Magata had a child while inside that cell..which is actually huge, is practically a full house.

If Magata's daughter is the one behind the murders, then, the question is "What does F stand for?"

This anime is doing good, the first episodes were slow, but, it got interesting for sure.

that's pretty weird since nobody is allowed to enter her room besides her and also how clean her room is , how is that even possible she got dismembered yet there's no blood in her room . I'm really digging the mystery in this one every time something happens i'm like "how the fuck is that possible ?" so i'm really looking forward to some explanations , who's the killer ? why ? etc..
and of course what does " "Everything becomes F" mean ? this anime gets better every week imo

We've tried this 'Magata had a child' angle before, judging by the sheer size of that apartment it actually makes it possible.

Am I the only one who finds the split-personality thing a bit of a cop-out? In real cases of the condition, the distinct personalities are not conscious of the others' existence so they do not 'talk', the scene with Shiki talking to her other 'selves' might be creepy but is quite a deviation from the thus far realistic tone of the show.

With that said, I am enjoying it greatly.

About the cutting off the limbs, I've seen this done in a murder mystery and I wonder if the justification might not be alike. Unnatural Causes by P.D James,
. I doubt it's the exact same thing going here but I bet the amputation has a purpose or at least a meaning.

Could it be that being limb-less has something to do with the whole 'doll' deal? After all, dolls gets their limbs removed all the time.

And as they were poking around the garbage chute, I kept wondering if the limbs were stuffed inside the teddy bear.

Another slow yet thought provoking episode.

I hope the protagonist starts to have a role in solving the mystery instead of mostly sticking to the sidelines, but it's only the 4th episode so I'm sure he will.

Since the second episode I was thinking she had a daughter and that might had even been the reason she was isolated or something. So now it really looks she didn't live alone in that place or at very least she was visited by someone, the thing is there were like many toys.

Dunno why i got the idea that one of her personalities killed herself, like some sort of weird suicide... It solves a lot of problems imposed like where is the killer etc...
It's just an idea though, there is still the problem with the director's death. And I hope they dont pull something like 2 different killers, it's such a lazy way out.

Seems a bit odd for smart characters to miss the clue at the start; they make it clear that to open the inner door you use your handprint. So how come the p1 and torso are in the hallway? With no limbs in the flat?

This is getting really interesting. Love how they're letting the mysterious and complex atmosphere sink in with the slower pacing. It creates a lot more suspense

7 personalities(That's what I believe) seems very interesting. Perhaps she was not born as Magata Shiki but as one of the other 6? But eventually made the Magata Shiki one the image she would show to world. So Shiki would be the only doll since she was the medium through which the world told her personalities what to do.
