Forceful main girls, and both have a vulnerable sides. They also can't stand a certain guy.
report Recommended by underMebius
Both main characters go into show business and have to over come many challenges in order to act well. They both have trouble finding out how to act out characters as well.
report Recommended by keymoriah
It has funny moments as well as serious moments. The characters aren't just crazy and hilarious. They all have backgrounds that aren't really that happy. The main character is also sort of thrown into a world that she isn't used to. There are also many cute guys.
report Recommended by keymoriah
Both animes have atypical heroines, especially for shoujo, with a "dark side" that lends towards humour. The Wallflower has more occultish elements though.
report Recommended by Breezie-D
Somehow, I feel a similarity to this both the female main charcters (mogami, kyoko and nana) have been pushed aside by their mothers, and the whereabouts of the fathers are unknown. Another thing is that both the female main characters are trying their best to enter the *Celebrity World*. Skip Beat is somewhat more of a comical version and Nana a more serious version. But there definately is a similarity in both Nana and Skip Beat!

Two funny shojo things with strong entertaining female leads, romance and lots of fun
report Recommended by as3
Both are fun loving comedy type anime's that involve the main character trying to become a "Star" basically. Each finding her own way to becoming famous while going through bumps in the road.
report Recommended by Jdawg557
both anime are very similiar. both main character are boyish and very dense and blockheaded about love. both main characters has a hot looking guy loving them but they dont notice it. there both funny and cute . both contains hot looking guys

1. Both heroines start off with a love interest that betrays them deeply which causes them to resent that person and act on revenge, vengeance. 2. Both heroines start off weak and slightly annoying and then by the end of the series, they are both BAD-ASS and awesome! 3. Not a whole lot of romance in both, but just enough to keep you watching the next ep. 4. Second love interest is disliked at first, but then the main character grows to like them. Skip beat is about showbiz while Aka no Yona is slightly historical and more action-packed. BOTH AMAZING!!!

Full moon is gentler/sweeter than Skip Beat, but both are really great stories! If you like show-biz anime with humor and romance, watch these two!
report Recommended by as3
Although the art and plot are different, both animes are about a girl, who is surrounded by bishies, trying to make it in the world of show biz. Although the humuor is different, if you liked one you wil like the other :D Also, even though, its kind of irrelevent, both animes have weird and excentric caracters as the ones in charge of the school (uta no prince sama) / show biz (skip beat)

Despite the fact that their reasons to enter the entertainment world are the opossite, they later discover that the entertainment world it's not as easy as it seems and it's not just about wanting to be there but that it also requires a lot of hard work. The two of them are funny and if you like this kind of shoujo, romantic, comic and idols stuff you might enjoy watching it.
report Recommended by karlala
Similar premises where the protagonists navigate through the entertainment industry in order to seek revenge. Skip Beat's direction of revenge is of the basis of romantic connections whereas Oshi no Ko focuses more on familial ties but with an extra element of an emotionally charged mystery. They'll meet peers that will mutually challenge each other to grow in the industry as well as facing challenges that will test their talents and emotions.

They are both shoujo titles based off very popular manga with one girl and two good looking guys. However Skip Beat has a more atypical shoujo lead, in a good way -- it's a refreshing breathe in the monotone repetitive world that is shoujo. Fruits Basket, though, has more interesting characters (other than the main female lead).

A girl who tries her best in making her dream come true while she is part of a love triangle between two childhood friends. Chihaya reminds a younger version of Kyoko:)
report Recommended by Orulyon
The protagonist is voiced by the same seiyuu, and she is a tomboy girl who always tries her best. Also her love interest is someone from her past that she saw once but now she doesn't recognizes him. Same vibe overall.
report Recommended by Orulyon
overly energetic female protagonists, having huge mood swings (from hating to loving the guy, or vice versa) so over the top strategies to achieve what want. old school predictable storyline, and similar humour.
report Recommended by sugarplumfairy
I'd say Paradise Kiss is a more abstract version of Skip Beat, honestly. There are a few differences though. An example would be that in Skip Beat, the protagonist is an aspiring actress, while in Paradise Kiss, the protagonist is an aspiring model. As for the similarities, both protagonists originally have no interest in what they eventually begin to pursue.
report Recommended by Em_Leingod
The main characters both share the past and meet again, and they relate with a charm stone. One is a famous actor and other debut with high attention in their career.
report Recommended by ikkiek
Both protagonists are ambitious, goal-driven, capable, and resilient. If you love female protagonists like that, I recommend: Skip Beat!, Claymore, Hana Yori Dango, Kaichou ha maid-sama, legend of Basara, Seirei no Moribito. Out of the list, Skip Beat! and Kaichou ha maid-sama is more light-hearted.
report Recommended by hello_moto
Both anime focus on hilarious comedy with lots of chibified scenes. Moreover they tell a romance shoujo story. Both female leads are very funny and the male counterparts are no idiots. Those two shows are not your usual romance comedy anime but truly something special.
report Recommended by Forever
Same theme of Revenge but Masamune seeks to break the girl's heart while Kyoko aims to become better than the guy. Both love aspects are done very well and if you're looking for a fresher love story you might like MknR. Skip beat is a bit funnier though.
report Recommended by Caimthehero
This animes are way similar, the difference is that the two male characters are actors and the girl is between them just like this anime.
report Recommended by zzshcl
old school cliched predictable storylines. overly confident/energetic female protagonists, turning to hate male protagonist. some character development, and romance. comedy slice of lifes, with similar humour (slap stick kind).
report Recommended by sugarplumfairy
Both have a strong female lead moving towards stardom or surrounded by it, cool guys, romance and comedy- though the stories approach the idea in very different ways
report Recommended by as3
Doesn´t make much sence at first, but hear me out. Comedy in kamisama hajimemashita and skip beat have the same vibe in it, i found it very similiar. Both female lead are strong, overcoming obstacles, and have real character development. Maybe, give it a try? :)
report Recommended by _Ivana_
The heroines have the Same personality and the way they express themselves, even a very similar voice actresses, and of course the romcom are shared.
report Recommended by Remuresu
Both feature female leads who are very determined into making it in the respective industry that they are in as well as elements of romance and a focus around fashion as well too.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
Both deal with being in show business and working under a company that trains potential stars. Rivalry becomes more predominant from both show to prove who can come up on top. Has it's own comedic moments and a hint of romance amongst idols which is forbidden in the industry. It'll sure to entertain especially to a female audience!
report Recommended by IchiroEX
The female leads are both semi-delusional adding only to their unique charm, plus they have very similar comedy styles and transformations that occur in the female protagonist (to varying degrees of success). Although Kuragehime's plot seems a little unpromising in the overview, I'm sure after the first two episodes you'll see a strong connection between the two and love Kuragehime, too.
report Recommended by navyvelveteen
The main characters are very determined talented girls who only have eyes for one guy... obsessed/devoted to them. They go into showbiz in the pursuit of said guy. They both have a romantic triangle going on, the second guy came into the picture because of the first one and in both cases the guys are possessive and competitive as they are in the same line of work. Skip beat has more comedy since Kyouko is angry and wants revenge but it still manages to be more realistic. Nino is a bit of an airhead which makes her cute but the story is more cliche with some  read more

The mood in the stories is different - La Corda is much more shojo-ish, but both are fun to watch, comic at times, entertainment-related and have romance. Watch them!!!!
report Recommended by as3
Both are interesting shojo stories with strong, interesting female leads that are cool and inteligent
report Recommended by as3
They are about the main character doing something in order to get revenge on a certain person and both anime have a good balance of humor and seriousness. But the plot, setting and characters are nothing alike.
report Recommended by Addicer_xx
Both characters go after something that they end up doing and find that they have come to love doing what they do. :) Plus they go trough similar trials in starting off. Where people are very disbelieving.
report Recommended by Chuniru
These two anime: -show that they have a goal of becoming a top idol. -have someone they look up to/rival. -both have protagonists who try their best no matter what conditions. Skip beat deals with a large range of things including music. Aikatsu is more entertaining and full of music, dances, etc... I doubt that you will not love this!
report Recommended by luvanime030999
They explore trust (in oneself and others). The dynamic is a wave between tension and moving moments. The main characters start a career for silly reasons and have their own way to it.
report Recommended by Iqux
the storys are completely different but they both deal with revenge
report Recommended by thunderus
Something about the comedy of maid dragon made me think of skip beat! where you sometimes can just laugh and enjoy a good anime.
report Recommended by jere169
I think skip beat also shows realistic development of love (aka not insta-love). Although I Kyoko the main character in skip beat I feel is much stronger heroine, she does share a very naive view of love deep down, which is similar to Tsubaki. They both learn about themselves and recognise their immaturity and mistakes in given situations. The hero's Ren and Kyota both have histories that are unique and they contribute a lot to the story rather than just being eye-candy. I strongly recommend reading the manga of both series as well as watching the anime.
report Recommended by chikachoo
The plots revolve around the leads trying their best at something new and growing as people in the process. If what you enjoyed in one series was the tenacious main character, give the other a try. Kyouko went from working at an inn to living in the city while for Ohana it was the other way around. Still, they both had unconventional circumstances in their upbringings that made them driven characters. Moko and Minko also share similarities. Skip Beat! focuses more on romance while Hanasaku Iroha focuses more on friendship among girls, but both elements are present in each series.
report Recommended by flyingdolphin
It is similar because two people used to be in a relationship of some sort, one says or does something to make the other feel betrayed, and so that person gets mad and decides to break up, but then later they get reunited after being in the same line of work (SH it's manga editing, SB it's entertainment). What's different is that in SH, Ritsu coincidentally meets Takano, but in SB the girl follows him to get revenge. They're both really good :)
report Recommended by PotakuCat
Romance comedy with similar female leads.
report Recommended by mneav3
Both stories involve a single girl or a group of girls that gain experience in the world of show business, learning about the ins and outs of it while slowly becoming more and more famous. Skip Beat, however, has romance, while Carole and Tuesday has more of a science fiction element. If you like hearing about celebrities, idols, and show business overall, you'll like either anime, because both feature characters who are thrown into the limelight!
report Recommended by donut_jelly
The two series are set in the show business world, with a focus on the "behind the scenes" of the acting world. They have strong female leads who are determined in chasing their dreams in the entertainment world. They also share male leads who hide the "ugly" sides of their personalities in front of the cameras. Last, but not least, both shows combine themes like romance, introspection, comedy and self-growth in an entertaining way.

Both are about femcell otaku girls who are tryna make it in the world, both are similar though Watamore is a lot better.

shoujo romances with personality
report Recommended by fawn7
Both are shoujo romances with strong female leads that don't (generally) abide to typical shoujo stereotypes
report Recommended by Short_Circut
Both shows focus on the behind the scenes of popular forms of media, as well as center around an eccentric female protag. They both also explore the negative side of the entertainment industry and how ruthless they can be at times
report Recommended by Short_Circut
In the beginning, both series are about a girl developing some fighting spirit due to cirumstances, and the protagonists go through a number of trials. Also, in both the heroine has some trouble with represantants of the other sex. So if you like that, you may find both titles similar for the first episodes. However, then they diverge more and more. Very generally speaking, I think Skip beats puts more emphasis on the development of the main character, and Hana yori Dango more on the drama between the characters.
report Recommended by Estefan
They are completely different genres, but I see quite some similarities between these series. In both titles, the female protagonist suffers a bitter humiliation right at the start. After some struggling, she takes on the fight, for her career, against a hostile world, making allies and rivals, who may turn into allies and vice versa. The leads also actively pursue a romance with a dark haired guy. And in both titles, there is a blond abusive sleazebag as main antagonist. However, the heroine overcomes the difficulties and progresses as a person and in the world by her own capabilities. If you want to see female protagonists who are actually  read more

Shokugeki no Souma is about food and Skip Beat! is about show business yet both main characters are confident in who they are. The characters believe in themselves and strive to get to the top and are hard-working to show all those who didn't believe in them how amazing their talent really is.

basically tsuruga and yozora are almost the same. both are childhood friends that's very precious to the protagonists and they reveal their identities at the end of the series.

A young girl ends up involved in the world of the pop idol while dealing with a despicable boyfriend.

Kodomo no Omocha's lead character and Skip Beat!'s lead character both have a firey attitude and seek revenge (Kodomo no Omocha's lead character eventually stops seeking revenge) of a male character. Kodomo no Omocha's character at one point says, "If I don't get revenge on him, I'll go insane~!" while Skip Beat!'s lead character has her little Pandora's box of hauntings. They are both also in the show biz world.

Hitohira is about a girl that doesn't know anything about acting, Skip Beat has the same harem and also has the same storyline.

How it is similar? #1 a beginner actress, many claim her amateur, though she is really talanted #2 Romance with an older man. Very similar thing, i don't want to tell you any spoilers ) Difficulties with understanding these feelings #3 difficulties with revealing one's true self, when one already has created a fake personality to support some person #4 you feel that some great story is starting here

Well, Skip Beat's atmosphere is very energetic, while on the other side Kobato's atmosphere is very sweet. Althought: - both main female characters (Kobato and Kyoko) are very positive and cheerful and want to realize a dream/reach a goal. Kobato wants to fulfill her bottle in order to reach "that place", and Kyoko wants to become famous in order to take her revenge on her ex-boyfriend. - but during their adventures to reach their goal, both girls meet a main male character and will, little by little, develope love or anyway strong feelings for those. - both series are romantic shoujo genre. With love triangles and love rivals this anime will teach guys to not underestimate a girl's will power!

the same kind of animation, and same kind of ignorant girl personalities (very energetic) who falls for guy and gives everything towards him, whilst he is an extremely bad choice. some development, and no doubt happy endings at the end, quite predictable

Two great stories about becoming a successful entertainters (show-biz/ice-skating) with the guidance of a memorable male lead .

Rehashing the first season's recommendation; Oshi no Ko & Skip Beat share similar premises where the protagonists navigate through the entertainment industry in order to seek revenge. Skip Beat's direction of revenge is of the basis of romantic connections whereas Oshi no Ko focuses more on familial ties but with an extra element of an emotionally charged mystery. In retrospect with the second season of Oshi no Ko and namely the second cour of Skip Beat; it significantly emphasizes the elements of 'acting' as well as the exploration of the implications of expressing story mediums from one form into another form and the challenges that  read more

report Recommended by AngeloKun
Well I think mostly the male characters show some similarities. These guys all have this "gentle and loveable" image on the outside with fake smiles but can be total teasers to the female lead! I think Kyoko from Skip Beat is a bit more "agressive" than Erika from Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. Still both are lovely and kind of unique shown female main characters! Both animes have great comedy, romance and shoujo elements. And I'm pretty sure that if you loved one you'll like the other as well!

both anime have strong female characters, who are very alike in their behaviour; both have some kind of problems & are ready to do a lot for the chracters they love; they also have some kind of an enemy
report Recommended by KamiDesu
Both have energetic, determined main characters who want to make it in show business. As well as Comedy, and romance (romance is a bigger part of Gravitation, than it is in skip beat though, since the characters are a lot less dense)
report Recommended by foreverr
Both involve girls trying to become idols and have a company help them achieve their goals. While idolmaster may focus more on them getting jobs and how they complete it, Skip Beat follows Kyokuo revenge and how she plans to make it to the top. Either series is very enjoyable
report Recommended by NNNooonnneee
both are romantic comedies. but unlike those too much mushy mushy senseless & mindless romances these two actually make sense and really very good to watch. the protagonists are strong characters & the side characters are as good. these animes depicted the human emotions quite superbly. while Tora Dora is all about the high school life and the teenage feelings nd hardships the story of Skip Beat is revolving around the entertainment industry. I love both the animes and I'll recommend them both :-)
report Recommended by RizaPiu
Different genre's but same characters. Kyouko from Skip Beat is basically the same as Yako. They both have the same hair style and character. Also both Heroine's seem to be abused by the male protagonists.

Both anime are about female friendships and trying to excel in show business. Skip Beat is lighter and more comedic. Kageki Shoujo deftly handles serious issues. Both have fabulous audition sequences.

both are Slice of Life about people wanting to achieve some sort of ultimate goal, in Skip Beat! the main character wants to become a superstar, in Bakuman the main characters want to become the best mangaka. Both have romance as a sub-plot.

A girl who has a natural talent is scouted, and although she's a complete amateur she's really good at what she does once she's learned a few things. In Skip Beat, she is trying to be an actress, and in Yumeiro Patissiere, she is trying to become a... patissiere... Both girls get a lot of feedback and advice whenever they are trying to do something, and they use that to their advantage and become even more skilled.
