Akame ga Kill!

Night Raid is the covert assassination branch of the Revolutionary Army, an uprising assembled to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, whose avarice and greed for power has led him to take advantage of the child emperor's inexperience. Without a strong and benevolent leader, the rest of the nation is left to drown in poverty, strife, and ruin. Though the Night Raid members are all experienced killers, they understand that taking lives is far from commendable and that they will likely face retribution as they mercilessly eliminate anyone who stands in the revolution's way.

This merry band of assassins' newest member is Tatsumi, a naïve boy from a remote village who had embarked on a journey to help his impoverished hometown and was won over by not only Night Raid's ideals, but also their resolve. Akame ga Kill! follows Tatsumi as he fights the Empire and comes face-to-face with powerful weapons, enemy assassins, challenges to his own morals and values, and ultimately, what it truly means to be an assassin with a cause.

A Great Story with Political Dilemma. Incredible Characters. A Surprising Plot with Unexpected Twists. What More Can You Ask For?

Akame Ga Kill is one of those stories where you can simply do nothing more than contemplate and admire.

This anime is a mix of two great pop culture classics. In the style of Star Wars, it tells the story of a fight between a group of rebels against an oppressive empire. And in the style of Game of Thrones, it has a narrative where anything, anything can happen. Everyone can die, everyone can bring out a side you didn't expect.

The great value of this anime lies ... then, not only in an interesting story, but also in that simply, each chapter is a separate adventure. Everything is possible, anything can happen, and unexpected twists are the order of the day.

Unlike other works, in Akame Ga Kill, no twist in the story is ridiculous. Here everything is well told and makes sense.

I definitely highly recommend this anime. It is 24 chapters of emotions, making Akame Ga Gill a classic of the 2010s.

THE GOOD. A surprising story where there will not be a single chapter that will not leave you speechless.
THE BAD. It has nothing wrong.
I JUST DON'T LIKE the power of the main villain a little bit. It seems unattainable.

Mixed Feelings

The cool art style and animation can't really help the show's overall lack of focus, character development and creating anything worth any sort of investment beyond some cheap shock factors. The villains are a joke, the heroes are a joke, everyone is a lazy trope and only potentially the powers were interesting. But the scaling was so tremendously off that it just made no sense. Every explanation for any 'mechanic' or 'lore' was mostly ex machina bs. the ending - without spoiling it - was a disappointment as well. The anime tried to just string together a bunch of cool looking people hoping the cool ... aesthetic will overshadow the lack pf personality or actual story. It didn't. It was an okay watch, one time only, no need to revisit this for anything.

This anime tries to be serious, featuring shocking deaths that are supposed to move the viewer, but it ends up being a joke in itself. Whenever a fight and death scene ends, right after comes a cute comedy scene to break up the atmosphere, apart from the fact that all the girls mysteriously fall in love with the unsalted protagonist. These silly and childish elements tucked into the middle of the work take away all the seriousness that the anime could have. Honestly, it was a huge struggle to watch all the episodes, and I think that even if it were a seinen this ... work would be saved from the mediocrity that it is.

Esse anime tenta ser sério, colocando mortes impactantes e que supostamente deveriam emocionar o telespectador, mas acaba sendo uma piada de si mesmo. Sempre que uma cena de luta e morte acaba, logo em seguida vem uma cena de comédia fofinha pra cortar todo o clima, fora o fato de toda as garotas misteriosamente se apaixonarem pelo protagonista sem sal. Esses elementos bobos e infantis enfiados no meio da obra tiram toda a seriedade que o anime poderia ter. Sinceramente, foi uma luta enorme assistir a todos os episódios, e eu acho que nem se fosse um seinen essa obra seria salva da mediocridade que é.
