Synopsis

15-year-old Kurosaki Ichigo is not your everyday high school student. He has from as far he can remember always had the ability to see ghosts and spirits. A fateful day arrives as Ichigo encounters the shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, who saves him and his family from a Hollow at the cost of injuring herself. During this encounter, with Rukia unable to defeat the hollow she transfers her shinigami powers into Ichigo. In the aftermath, unable to continue with her job, Rukia allows Ichigo to take on the role of a shinigami in her place as they together defeat the Hollows plaguing Ichigo's town.

Bleach is one of the three so-called "mainstream shonen animes"; together with Naruto and One Piece these three are immensely popular, and the topic of endless comparison among their fans set out to prove that their favorite is the best out of them. They simply refuse to exit their fanboyism to view the series in an objective light, which is a shame, because they are probably missing out on great adventures, which is the case of Bleach in many ways. If you want my review short and good, give Bleach a try no matter what people have said, as it, despite a lot of shortcomings, read more

One of the most mediocre animes I've watched. Episode 311 was my limit. I have no clue why I'm still watching this anime other than the fact that I can procrastinate a good 22mins every week, this week was, however, exceptionally frustrating.

The storyline is decent, but constantly revolves around the I'm-going-to-whack-you-until-you-die-so-that-I-can-protect-some-people-that-arent-even-going-to-be-hurt-by-you, oh I forgot that they spend no time trying to solve any conflicts peacefully, they just get straight into drawing their sword, and dueling it out with as LITTLE effort as possible?

Why? Because, they will put in a little more effort the next week, and just a little more effort the week after, before read more

I hate this series more than most of anything else. It is clearly undermining the quality of shounens, it’s trolling away like there is no tomorrow, and yet most seem to like its ludicrous plot and retarded characters.
Before you immediately press the dislike button for saying something bad about your religion here, let me at least try to explain myself.

Bleach began as urban fantasy, with teenagers being able to see ghosts and fighting to protect themselves and their friends. It was very good in the first dozen episodes as the aesthetics were great for this sort of series and each episode there was read more

Story:
Bleach is a mixed bag as far as story goes. The first arc (ep1-63), which covers the soul society, is interesting and engaging. It contains both action and a good plot. However, after episode 63 things go downhill. A lot. The Bount arc which follows it isn't even in the manga and has no relevance to the overall story, as well as being entirely uninteresting. It picks up a bit when the story shifts back to the plotline of the manga, but there isn't much of a plot to follow at that point. Basically, the main characters fight the bad guys from there on out read more

spirit detective.. supernatural stuff and offcorse monsters and demons that is not possible to see by us. so yeah both show have them in common not to forget comedy, and other stuff
Fighting and great character development. Because of the expanse of different characters, there is bound to be one (or a couple) that instantaneously become your favorite.
Naruto and Bleach both synomonous with action animes. when you hear bleach the next anime that you would think of would be naruto... if you like it that is. they both are epic anime with outstanding character devlopement and plots so intricate you might would who were the brillant minds to think of this (I did anyway...) also there is some comic relief, a little bit of romance, and tons of serious parts too. and they're great for anyone
Well... Both are adventures of inumerous characters, each one with his own power and distinct personality, against the evil guys. I didn't get this part of the anime yet, but people said me that it has fillers like all those other similar series (as Naruto, Dragon Ball, etc...). For me, these animes are all the same after all...
Both are about boys who meet a woman and gain the ability to fight in her world. Without giving too much away the story lines have similarities with character and plot development. Busou Renkin is however not as serious as Bleach, which is refreshing and also has a good end point.
Simular setting as soul eater: Shinigami fighting monsters who feed of human souls. Comedy, action and romance elements are also present in both series. The animation style is different though, soul eater has cartoonesk elements while bleach has a more common animation style
