Nearly two years later, I just happen to stumble onto this golden piece of work. Well done. Bleach has long lost most of its appeal to me. But, I think I may now have to slowly finish it when I need something to kill time. Thanks for this wonderful list outlining all the trash that I can skip.

I'm thinking about finishing bleach. I dropped it before after HM arc since I got too busy. Now I can rewatch the whole thing without filler. XD

Wow I wish that I've read this thread sooner.
As far as I think the Heuco Mundo Arc was like a Spanish version while the Quincies for the 1000th death on the final arc was German, due to my observation with their 2nd forms and bankai's

They have lots of action but they have nothing to do with the main plot. I explained the 4 filler arcs thoroughly in the spoiler:

Most of the other few filler episodes are just some daily life stuff that has nothing to do with action nor the main plot.

Filler is always pointless. They all should pull a Gintama and just go on Hiatus. IMO. Really just skip it all, unless you absolutely love the show with a burning passion (which is kinda sad) then you could tolerate the filler. But if you think its "MEH" like 85% of everyone that watches it. I suggest skipping it you ain't missing anything important :D

Though, if you want a good show drop this go to One Piece or Hunter x Hunter :D As they all say Bleach is just DBZ with swords and a linear swiss cheese plot.

Nice thread. BAck in the day I dropped bleach because of the shitty bound arc.
After a quick calculation, there are 151 (like pokemon in R/B/Y) crappy fillers out of the 366 episodes, that equals to 41% of garbage lmao.
I'm so glad I dropped this long ago.

Anyway, this would be helpful for people new to this anime to get to the point. No need fillers to kill the show, it does it by itself (imo).

Cheers.

Tyvm for this helpful guide. I stopped watching this during the Bount Arc, but that was back before I knew what the fillers were. I really loved the SS Arc and now want to pick this back up and give it another shot. Thanks for posting this. :D

Content that was not in the manga, that's how we define it on this site. Though there is another one about content even if was in the original material that didn't bring the plot forward or offered any other info.

Substitute Soul Reaper Disappearance : is this worth watching? i watched the main story without fillers so far ( until ep 310 ). Or should skip this and go right to the manga. Or will they animate the manga some day when it is finished cuz then i rather wait.

Why would you skip it when it's a canon arc? Either way, watch it, it's fun, and it should have some stuff to do with the final arc, the current arc in the manga. Some characters from that arc already re-appeared.

There are no news of a continuation of the anime till now, and no one can tell whether there will be or not.

So basically filler would be like.. In Inuyasha, how the characters constantly do random crap that has nothing to do with the central plot events?

Say.. they go and help an old woman with a problem and fight a random demon.

Thats filler?

If it was not in the manga then yes. Most longer anime do have filler as to not catch up to the manga because the anime can animate at least a couple chapters at a time.

Question.

This part on that list: Skip 311-341?, why does it have a question mark?
Is it because you're unsure if it was filler or was it something else?

I just want to make sure, even though I still have a while to get to those episodes...

Episode 342 is a mixed canon filler episode, with the last chapter of the Arrancar arc in the manga extended a bit to put some character interactions (with glorious animation). It's an epilogue to the Arrancar arc basically.

Not really, just start from episode 342. The filler arc between the Arrancar arc and the last arc in the anime is about the mod-souls and how they were created. It's one of the better filler arcs, but it's still not that great, and you're ok if you just skipped it and started from 342 only.

303 - 305 are three random filler eps, the first is a karuta special, the second is an Ichigo dreaming episode, and the third is a Hitagi and Matsumoto mission.

Yeah it should be, he gets help from manga readers and possibly uses those other guides. If you need to, those pages I linked you to has a full episode guide, color coded that marks which are filler and which are not. And it also arranges them by arcs and also gives you episode synopsis.

EDIT: I realize those links I gave you are acting weird. If you click one and then near the top of the page click the episode name right below the talk button it will take you to the right page or just use these links.

I don't even mind the Bount saga, Captain Amagai, or even the Zanpakuto Rebellion. Some of the one shots were actually pretty good, mainly the Hitsuagaya and Ikkaku fillers around 131-133, I believe it was. The problem with most of the filler is that the timing is terrible. The Bount saga was simply too long, Captain Amagai happened right in the middle of the battles with the Espada, as did the Zanpakuto Rebellion. I'm only on 311, and I know I've got a lot of filler coming my way yet, but I don't really mind. Even canon Bleach stopped being amazing long ago.

That being said, I do appreciate these guides. There is a TON of filler, and I know not everyone enjoys it.
