TV Anime 'Made in Abyss' Final Episode to Receive 1-Hour Broadcast

The official Twitter account for the currently airing Made in Abyss TV anime has announced on Friday that the thirteenth and final episode will be receiving a one-hour broadcast on September 29. A pre-screening event for the final episode will also be held on September 24 for a talk show with the main cast members, director, and producer attending.

Made in Abyss began its serialization in Web Comic Gamma magazine in October 2012. A total of six volumes have been published by Takeshobo, with the latest volume released on July 29. The TV series will be distributed in two Blu-ray and DVD volumes, with the first volume containing the first seven episodes releasing on October 25, and the second volume bundling the last six episodes releasing on December 22.

That is really great, Made in Abyss is already an outstanding show and now it gets even more special. I just hope te quality doesnt drop.

I am hoping for a second season in the future and with a final episode of 1 hour maybe isn't going to happen.

I'm in love with Made in Abyss. But I'm not that much confident in a second season, this looks like the kind of show that will never have a sequel. Just my intuition.

Maybe we can see something in the future depending on how successful in Japan the anime turns out to be. But I bet this won't go any further regardless of sales or whatever goals investors had.

Considering how it slowed down the pace a bit in the middle, for a good stopping point, they'll need that 1-hour episode. Happy about the news though.

Well this is pleasant news considering the show is one of the best of the year, no question. I'm interested in where it'll leave of since there could be more room for a sequel

Yaaaaas! Thank you so much! I really love this anime so much, still hoping that this will be 2-cour, though. :/ I'm going to miss this show so much once it finished airing. Definitely, AOTS for me! <3 I need a season 2 confirmation from them. Gaaah!

I have yet to watch this show, but seeing this news, they probably wanted the show to finish airing with a bang.

I'm scared this means we aren't getting a season 2. I know the manga doesn't have much out, but I also don't know how much they're adapting. Either way, I may have to read the entire manga from the start once the show ends.

there was recap episode before it tho... and pretty sure 1 hour broadcasting special is anounced after they got delayed..
