Can you elaborate that a bit? Does it have monsters murder lolis in graphic ways or rape them, or is it just the contrast between cutesy lolis and darker looking monsters? I really don't care about more lolis with an edgy twist shows.
Its a bit more...sexual than that. It tries very very hard to shock you and to be honest it kind of worked, but that doesn't mean it's actually well written or anything.
If you really wanna know what scene I'm talking about, I'll put it in spoilers. You can try and find the actual pages in some 4chan threads for the series or something, no way I'm posting that shit here.

Remember, that's just one edgy scene out of many. I have absolutely no idea how they'll air shit like that on national television, hopefully they'll just skip dumb shock factor things like that, and they probably will. Though without the shock factor this series really isn't anything interesting at all. Just an attempt to ride the coattails of Madoka and Gakkou Gurashi.

Sound to me that you never read the manga at all.

I'll follow that. Kinema Citrus and 3hz Studio, both funded by the same former Bones and Production I.G.

Why are you cherry picking Bones and P.I.G from the lot when there's also people from 8-bit involved? :P
Although that only counts for Studio 3hz afaik.
Ryouma Ebata most famously.

Looking at the PV for this, when she runs down the hill it seems like it could be his style, so maybe it's Kinema Citrus too.

The manga has indeed some scenes that can be considered edgy but it's definitely not it's main draw. What makes the manga great is the sense of exploration, the protagonists are always meeting new stuff from nightmarish insects to an adorable bunny in a totally fantastic yet wild awe inducing world with always a promise for more wonders beyond.
If I were to compare, I'd say it's very similar to Etrian Odyssey. There's an entire explored land that is clearly hostile to humanity yet it rewarding to those brave and resourceful enough to get past it, it tempts human curiosity and adventurous spirit so much they can't stop keep going down even if they know it means death (or something worse). For the audience, the Abyss is very attractive to us as it is for the characters but we also start admiring them too: Ozen's harsh yet protective personality, Nanachi's adorableness and reliability, Bondrewd's infectious madness and even the monsters are interesting, Tamaugachi and Kuon Gatari has the charm of apex predators.
Trying to distill MiA into a single word "edgy" makes me wonder if you really read the manga or just saw some pages over 4chan and made up a story in your mind. Considering you suspected Reg's "urine" contains more than urine, it's probably later.

Thanks, I probably found the same thread on /a/ because I saw that shota scene, and many more. Guess I know with what mindset to go into this series now, almost expected something good from it.

That's exactly what it is. It's nothing more than suffering porn for edgelords with shota and loli. There's also some very, very disgusting scenes in it which I doubt will get adapted. Well, at least I hope.
Either way, it's just another follower of the trend of 'cute looking show is actually super dark and bloody'. Original, I know.

If the last portion of the trailer is misleading, then you have a warped way of thinking, my dude. That was pretty fucking ominous, alright.

you know it's not a kids show just by reading the synopsis, so yeah it's not really that misleading.

Nah, the synopsis is pretty normal. I'd think its a simple fantasy adventure with cute characters.

This looks and sounds astonishing, can't wait! Although I'm not fond of the character design.
