Pretty disappointed in the review you made for "SukaSuka" but honestly exploring your anime stats ( dropped / completed / scores ) it all makes sense and it made me feel better. Could get alot more into it but i guess it would be pretty pointless.
( As for "SukaSuka" it could've been alot better , it was sad with a bit of happy feels , I can't say I feel 'complete' and feels like somethings missing , I can't say it was a 10/10 but it was a happy feeling overall and yes it is and its totally worth watching. )
I'm not really going to try to defend SukaSuka's anime but just to throw in an acknowledgement toward @StigmaticDoc 's comment and also to some extent your review, I really believe the adaptation serves as a poor representation of its source material. Indeed, you have a very good point when you mentioned that it seems to be unable to" decide whenever it wanted to be a dull light novel adaptation or a good story", but wording it as such appears awfully misleading to me considering SukaSuka itself is a light novel adaptation. If you have suggested that he lacks the talent as an anime script writer, or that his attempt to alter the anime so that it centers around Ctholly rather than Willem was a poor production choice, then I could not have agreed more, for I, too, felt that the quality of the anime was disappointingly sub-par to other series; however, as a huge fan of the light novel, I felt that it is somewhat unfair for your review to bash the LN or the author's penmanship as a light novelist based on the anime alone. For one, the anime only covered around half of the entirety of the series, and one quarter of the entire franchise if we consider its sequel SukaMoka;it is an incomplete representation of source material at best; at worst, it is a distorted one. It is perhaps also important to note that the author himself declared the anime a standalone work not to be compared to the light novel. While I may not be the most well-versed when it comes to light novels, I find SukaSuka to be one of the most well-written series among the number of light novels I've read, finding little fault in the quality of the writing; from my point of view, the situation is incredibly ironic in that the very element of "dull light novel adaptation" you describe which degrades the anime is by no means attributed to the light novel itself. Although it's not my intention to push my opinions onto others, I believe a distinction should be made between evaluating Akira as a writer and as an anime staff. Of course, should you ever venture into the realm of light novels, I'd love to have a thought provoking discussion with you on SukaSuka in the context of its light novel and light novel alone.
Good SukaSuka review for the most part, but you've put a lot of the blame on the author when he doesn't deserve it at all and even more so considering you haven't read the source material, the ones doing the adaptation do. As it was extremely rushed and it allowed itself to deviate from the LN at plenty of moments. Including the last 2 episodes being entirely anime original. (Although they were written by the author himself, but what he was aiming for couldn't really come to fruition considering the extremely limited screen time he had to work with and that he had to pick it up from a point where plenty of moments were already written by someone else to now follow his work.
Although I was surprised just now when I came to leave this comment that Made in Abyss is in your favourites when it's just about as shallow as SukaSuka's anime and it too is widely missing out on being something it could be but it just doesn't quite reach there.
