An official site opened and revealed that Akihito Tsukushi's manga Made in Abyss will get a TV anime adaptation.

Synopsis
The enormous cave system, known as the Abyss, is the only unexplored place in the world. Nobody knows how deep down this titanic pit goes. It is inhabited by strange and wondrous creatures and full of mysterious ancient relics whose purposes are unknown to modern man. Generations of bold adventurers have been drawn by the cryptic depths of the Abyss. Over the course of time, those bold enough to explore the dangerous pit came to be known as "cave raiders."

In Oosu, the town at the edge of the Abyss, there lives a little orphan named Rico, who dreams of becoming a cave raider as great as her mother was and solving the great mystery of the pit. One day while exploring the murky depths, she stumbles upon a little boy, who turns out to be a robot...

Looks interesting. I'm always excited for more science fiction adventure.

I read the manga awhile ago but only a few chapters.

Looks pretty nice. Manga does look a bit childish designs-wise so hopefully this is neither a short nor a kids show.

Wow, sounds like a fun adventure! And the art looks gorgeous.

I think I'll read the manga beforehand!

Beside the fact that only 29 people scored it, 7.3 is not even a bad score.

I think, it's needs to be at least 200 people, to call a score reliable. But this anime seems promising. It's rare to see steampunk nowadays. (I'll hope it will be steampunk.)

I wouldn't consider reliable something scored by 200 people.
For example Sekishoku Elegy (scored by 200 members) is probably a better work than a lot of higher rated manga.

At least.
But yes, score of manga means almost nothing, if it not popular one, which got anime already, or if it really interesting manga, which already become popular without anime.

Pretty sure its not going to be a short and for this being childish ... i havent seen it but looking at the page of Comic Gamma in MAL, its pretty much a bunch of edgy looking mangas so i have a good feeling that at least its not going to be for kids.

It looks like 3DCG. I wish that it's not true.
But in other side, it's Kinema Citrus, so it shouldn't be 3D.
Dub = fake crap. Always.

OMG, I literally NEVER was so excited to hear about an anime adaptation. Made in Abyss is one of the best titles I've ever come across, hope they'll be able to transfer the magic on the screen adequately.

They have nothing in common.
DanMachi is an action comedy about dungeon-crawling teens - level up, become a hero, impress the girl, see some boobs. Decent but forgettable.
Made in Abyss is a gritty drama about little kids (but nor FOR kids, mind you)
~~minor spoilers ahead~~

It is quite a harsh tale, but it only depicts violence and suffering, never revels in it. Stuff happens because that's how this world works, not because the author thinks that spurting blood looks cool. And the catharsis of the last chapter of volume 3 is well worth the build-up. It was the first time a book actually made me cry, I can't wait to see how this emotional tsunami will play out on the screen.
Besides, most likely they'll tone the violence down somewhat and if the art is anything like the original we'll be looking at the most impressive anime of the season, easy.

Now only to wait for Hakumei to Mikochi and Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou to get animated.

I'll pass until I know it's not CG. The artstyle just reeks of ending up being full CG.

The studio never made a CG anime before, so they are unlikely to start now. This being said, I'll give it a try even if it's CG (although that would be my first).
