 An official website opened for a television anime adaptation of Ryudai Ishizaka's Iwa Kakeru!: Climbing Girls (Hang On! Climbing Girls) web manga on Friday. The anime series will air under the title Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls.Synopsis Konomi Kasahara, a junior high school girl, has made a big name after winning numerous competitive puzzle game tournaments. The story begins when she finds a sports climbing club in her high school. Using special skills other than that of puzzle games, Kasahara becomes fascinated with climbing. Staff Director: Tetsurou Amino (Nijiiro Days, Break Blade) Series Composition: Touko Machida (Harukana Receive, Runway de Waratte) Character Design: Yoshihiro Watanabe (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Sora no Otoshimono) Music: Tsubasa Itou (Egao no Daika, Princess Connect! A sequel manga, Iwa Kakeru!!: Try a New Climbing, launched the following month. Kodansha published the first two volumes of the original manga in 2018. Shogakukan will re-release all four volumes on April 30. The company released first volume of the sequel manga digitally on February 28. | As a climber I'm excited for the first climbing anime. However, I would have preferred an adaptation of Noboru Kotera-san (https://myanimelist.net/manga/92859/Noboru_Kotera-san?q=noboru) which is a more serious (less fan service) look at the world of bouldering. |

| From the synopsis and the cover image I just really get a combination of Yuru Camp, Dumbell Nan Kilo Moteru!? and Keijo!!!!!!!! vibes, just without it's ecchiness. I feel it's going to be something in between those 3. I hope I'm right and if I am and it's going to be made good and not fucked up, then it will for sure be just my thing and one anime I would never forget. Note: I know nothing og source material or anything, only this synopsis and cover image. |
