To me everyone looks suspicious, except the idiot of this episode. In this regard, is a coup d'etat really something that must be stopped when a disastrous leader is about to become king? I wonder which side is the bad one.

Things are getting tense. Jean caught all kind of unwanted attention. But I'm more interested in the meaning behind that cigarette inside the letter. Crow talked about it with Grossler, so it's probably not just a simple gift.

Also, Mauve is bae.

The dark guy is cooler than I thouht. What's his name? Lilium? I don't think it was ever said in the anime.

The first episode was a bit slow, but this is getting more and more interesting. Why is the score so low?
At this point, this is the only anime I'm looking forward to. (Maybe also LWA)

The character design looks a lot like the beautiful art of Koreans comics/manga.
And Tanaka Atsuko with her sexy as hell voice on Mauve is so good.

That they made such a major development in just the third episode makes me expect greater intrigue and politics and suspense later... Overall I like how things are going.

Oh, and points for showing us an unexpected side of Jean.

Neither side is apparently good nor bad, which is good suspense. Now we wait as the plot thickens...

The only actually good character, right now, as it can be deducted from Opening sequence and her stance on protecting the order, is Mauve. While someone has selfish or "set on grand things" motives, she simply does not want chaos to ensue as it almost always happened with overthrows.

"A clue is a clue, two clues are a coincidence, but three clues are a test." Borrowing the famous Agatha Christie sentence, I can believe and say that there are elements to say that I'm seeing an "spy story". This is the element that has me and keeps me glued to the screen when I watch this anime. The plot once again, advancing with stealthy step, and with such grace that even the claims of the Crown Prince, shake their narrative, with a certain nonchalance, forward undeterred in her describe the tangle of increasingly tangled situations, that little little, it is being built around the figure of the protagonist. What a vivid expressive power is found in it but also in the dialogue, describing the events so that they are clear even to the most absent-minded spectator. And as not even notice the improved quality of the drawings and backgrounds, that complete the picture; in short, I have witnessed a great episode, now.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Jean was actually part of the coup, but let's see. This was probably the best episode yet.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Ooh! The plot thickens with this episode, and a whole lot comes to light. It's good to know that there are multiple players in this coup, maybe even two people planning separate coups. Ooh, it's all so interesting.

Analysis-wise, there wasn't much to analyse heavily. Other than the prince maybe having illicit relationships with his guards, which I'd dig.

Jean blushing at Mauve was utterly adorable, a little characteristic of his I'm liking.

It is getting more and more interesting! The fact that everyone is so suspicious of Jean furthers my doubts that Jean is somehow a member of the royal family (I'm not accepting Lilium's theory, smells too much like a red herring). After all, why would someone watch over Jean for 30 years unless he was a threat since his birth?

I keep looking over everything Jean does, with hopes of seeing his plans, but he just remains an enigma. Still, the end of the OP song makes me fear that whatever he is doing will eventually lead to a tragedy where he loses both his best friend and his sister.

Well you are contradicting yourself, be careful. The only reason they would watch over someone for 30 years since his birth is because he is either way a royal heir of this monarchy or some other monarchy. THIS actually supports the theory that he is a noble of sorts and can contest the current prince.

Maybe I worded myself wrong in the sentence before? What I meant is that I'm more and more certain that he is a member of the royal family. I doubt that the said rumor would make all these people look at him, but rumors that a secret prince might be planning a coup? Now that's something to be worried about... or something to be hopeful for, depending on your political leanings.

This is getting interesting.. but I am a bit confuse on that last part. So there was a flashback to the lady General-director when the CO asked Jean for help. Somehow makes me feel like she is together with Groshular? Since Groshular didn't really say anything too when Crow reported that she know who he is.

A flashback again to the President of the Privy Council on that last scene too. What does that mean? Is he the actual top dog rather than Groshular for the coup?

I love how everyone is being presented with their own possible ulterior motivations.

Obviously they have pushed Grossular into the spot as the main bad guy but that could easily be a misdirect.

I love how they are keeping it vague right now. Anybody, even the main protagonist, could be the one trying to make a power move.

so in simple terms, let's see if i got this right so far...

Jean is part of the FBI, or second-in-command
somehow, he's become the posterboy or mascot for the FBI
the FBI is very involved with all other agencies and very connected

the leadership is a monarchy and is potentially up for turmoil when there's a question of who the next leader will be, especially considering the age of the current leader and the idiocy of the next potential leader

seeing this potential power grab, everyone sees that the FBI is key in controlling the country and are thus suspicious of the FBI or want to control the FBI

so various local agencies control each state, the FBI controls the local agencies, and Jean is seen as the controller of the FBI.

...yes?

This episode was very good, can't wait to know who is behind it.
Finally, someone that believes in Jean and mistrusts Groshular, he always seemed doubtful to me.
Btw that dinner was pretty nice, can't believe that Jean was so excited/shy xD
So now he is basically working for Acca, Mauve, Lilium... hmm i wonder how this will end xD

Jean isn't made out of stone, he also fancies people, women in particular.

Knot is another favorite of mine. I want to see his children.

The plot is increasingly becoming more interesting compared to its pilot episode. I'm glad because despite its aesthetics I would have dropped it if the characters weren't interesting.

Lotta looks so cute in her dress. She's forming her own mini reverse harem filled with idiots.

Did someone poison Jean's cigarette or something?

Ok that was slightly surprising. At the end of the last ep I had the feeling Mauve had something to do with the coup d'état but that turned out to not have any basis anymore when she was talking about protecting the country from exactly that. And I was also surprised that the guy at the end actually told Otus that he is suspected to be plotting a coup d'état.

I'm really wondering where this is going. The possibility of Otus actually planning a coup d'état still is not out the window, too. Although I highly doubt it. Or more like I'd prefer if he is just the neutral guy he seems to be.
