They finally found the corpse, damn. Their time together is over and Shimizu is dead...? This was a great volume, we discovered more about Punpun's life and there was a lot of Sachi. 10/10

Police are now actively searching for Aiko while Punpun fills out a cell phone contract under her name, what a cliffhanger. They are so screwed. Well, at least she is.

Interested to see how Nanjou is going to fit into all this.

I absolutely love how over the course of twelve volumes this manga evolved from a coming of age title to something grim and shrouded with despair...
I have never hoped for a happy ending as much as I do now - and even though it doesn't take a prophet to realize we're in for a head-on collision with a door to the realm of despondency and sorrow, I still choose to believe the most tragic of endings is not in store for us. Eh, I need to prepare myself for the second Narcissu or this winter won't be the merriest.

Aiko an Punpun's story is so tragic and sad :( I can't wait to see the final. I will cry if Aiko dies from her wound.

Man, the way Asano handles and interweaves all of the "separate" story-lines is absolutely brilliant. I have no doubt that the final volume will be awe and tear-inducing.

This was an amazing volume, and now that the police are searching for Aiko, things are just going to get intense, especially since Punpun is writing her name on that contract. From how thing are going so far, I'm not sure if the ending will be good or bad, because we still don't know what'll Nanjou will be doing yet, so that just makes things more interesting.

Can't wait for the finale!

This volume was great and Asano did a great job on setting the story up for the final volume. I'm hoping for a happy ending for Punpun and Nanjou, but I doubt it.

Sachi confirmed for Inio's self-insert. I kind of had a feeling that this was the case for a while, but someone pointed out that Sachi's manga in Punpun is Solanin.

It IS Taneda from Solanin but there isn't a single page in the whole manga that looks like this one:

Wow, lots going on in this volume. The multiple stories going on right now are great, and there are so many cliffhangers! I can't wait for the finale to this masterful manga.

So Punpun's left eye is gouged out, Aiko has some weird bruising/infection going on with her left eye, and now Seki's left eye has been burned up.
Is this supposed to mean anything?

Glorius volume

2 questions,

1. When Aiko gouge out Punpun's eye, nobody in the restaurant say nothing?
2. When Aiko was writing a wish for Tanabata and start to shout. Why is she shouting?

Whoa didn't even notice that...now I'm wondering if it has any significance too. I did a little reading though and there's some Egyptian mythology surrounding the eye of Horus, which was Horus's left eye that was gouged out, and it says it represents sacrifice, healing, restoration, and protection, so maybe the left eye does have some significance, because that sort of makes sense with what was/is/will be going on... Or I'm going too in depth LOL sorry, sorry

Anyway, this was such a crazy volume... I'm seriously hoping for some kind of happy ending, where at least Punpun makes some kind of peace with himself... I am expecting to cry haha. Looking forward to it, even though it'll probably be quite some time before it comes out, like this latest volume. I'm really interested in seeing how everything is resolved, but I am SO SAD this manga is ending!

''The eyes of Daruma are often blank when sold. The recipient of the doll fills in one eye upon setting the goal, then the other upon fulfilling it. In this way, every time they see the one-eyed Daruma, they recall the goal. One explanation how this custom started says that in order to motivate Daruma-san to grant your wish, you promise to give him full sight once the goal is accomplished. This practice might also have something to do with the "enlightenment", the ideal attainment of Buddhism. This custom has led to a phrase in Japanese translated as "Both Eyes Open". Referring to "opening" the second eye, it expresses the realization of a goal. Traditionally, the Daruma was purchased as a household, and that only the head of the household would paint in the eyes.''

I think that is the intended symbolism since we also see a one-eyed daruma doll in some scenes. ''Unfulfilled goals, hopes and dreams''.

Wow. I waited a bit to read the translation, but I finally read Vol 12.... Damn. Chapter 13 is going to be intense. I really hope this gets translated and sold for english fans. I rarely buy manga, but this is a masterpiece and would be added to the collection of few manga I've actually purchased. I know and Solanin and What A Wonderful World are translated because I own them, so it's possible...

So what do you think about what Punpuns dad said about being traumatized when he was younger when his friend got hit by a motorcycle and died? I noticed some of you said things like "we learned some things about Punpuns past. I felt that was just his father lying and not admitting what truly traumatized Punpun, him nearly killing his wife.

And Nijigahara Holograph is going to be available on February. At times like this i wish to be italian or at least know how to read it because Oyasumi Punpun is licenced in that language and they are also translating Umibe no Onnanoko.

I have no clue how Asano can wrap everything up in 1 volume, this is either gonna be the best manga ever or become a failure due to its ending.

I thought that Punpun's mother tried to slit her throat, and Punpun's dad tried to stop her so he ended up hitting her with something...

Dear Aiko, that wasn't so smart. The police will definitely find you now.

Saving the world from the Black Marks and the upcoming tragedy actually meant having them all drink the Kool-aid, oh god. Most of them were too scared to do the deed but Wada made sure that all of them including Shimi would go down in a blaze of glory whether they like it or not...

Aiko and Punpun were able to find jobs but the cops have found out the body and even ruled it out as a homicide and they're catching up fast... Punpun listing down her real full name like that while the broadcast was playing pretty much meant that they're fucked.
