I think there is more to this episode, it showed the other side of Motoko. She revealed to Kuru-tan that she was cyberized at age 6, same age as her friend's patient. She said that she would cry when she would hold her doll and end up breaking it.

Also, this episode reveals Motoko's more caring nature. True, she scared the 3 medical students shitless but in the end she gave the guys a piece of her mid. Her advice to them was worth remembering and I hope the guys followed it. She said, something in this context: "you have education, good families and potential good careers, do not waste your lives by this illegal organ trade. If you cross paths with the Mafia, they wont hesitate to kill you." She wanted to punish the kids but ultimately, she still wants them saved and take the path that is right.

Batou: "Bah, you should just switch into a guy's body for a change"

That cracked me up. And yeah i agree with Leibstandarte, more like another side of Makoto, the lil' girl gave her the reminiscence. Obviusly she felt somewhat diferent now that she was no longer needing a human organ.

Organ trafficking is sadly becoming a reality in third world countries. The poor would willingly give away a kidney for a measly thousand US Dollars or less. People are that desperate because they couldn't feed their families and are without jobs or any means of livelihood.

A little comfort in this episode is that we'd be needing pigs with the help of human DNA/genes to manufacture organs in the future. No more humans would be harmed or exploited, only the bovine population. On a lighter note that would pretty much piss-off peta....

Oh interesting epi!!! It was nice to get into some of Motoko's past... Thou the bad guys were not real bad guys, they still gave Section 9 some troubles... like chasing them til they gave up... and freaking them out to no end with the evil Tachikoma and a Femme Fatale Motoko XD.... thought the case was going to be a piece of crap, but it ended up being a nice one... the Illegal Organ Trafficking is quite a serious theme... No wonder why the Major went all crazy with the leader.... What's surprising is the fact that the Organ trafficking hasn't come to an end although there's cyberorgans.... That's... worrisome... if that happens... then i dunno what will be of us...

That really was a nice smile, funny end to the episode as well.

Those Medical students had a good life, they really shouldn't try to throw it away by getting into the trafficking business.

Probably one of my favorite episodes, Motoko is such a fascinating character. I personally prefer this version of her character over the manga and movies.

It was a really interresting reflexion on cybernatization. Mokoto saw a young girl that wanted to stay human. On the other hand, someone else sold all is organ to become an entire robot with a conscience. She is between the two of them, it must have conflicted her psychologically.

And beside all this, some scum trafic human organ. It was a pretty messed up story about a pretty messed up society.

Episode green color again!
Deep and the full emotional impact on the character of Motoko that for once you let go, so we retrace the history of her.
There is mostarta during the narration the irrationality of mankind.
Nothing wrong the final part where Major puts in place Batou!
Is priceless ...

Huh. I've been wondering why Motoko wears such a skimpy outfit all the time for awhile now, and this episode offered some explanation. I hadn't really thought about the psychological side affects of a completely prosthetic body; I think she's overcompensating out of some desire to still feel feminine/pretty. That's pretty interesting character-wise.

The tachikomas are as amusing as always.

Batou punching himself was pretty amusing too.

Illegal organ trading is a pretty nasty business.

totally agree, they add just enough humor, like when it got stuck and screamed desperately just for the mayor to say "wait" and it then is like "ok!"

every fiction and real life take on organs traffic make me feel weird in my stomach, yet I enjoyed the story a lot, particularly when Motoko confronted the band leader in the corner xD

Pretty decent episode, some character development, seeing their personalities a bit more.

Seems Motoko went with a scared straight approach. Funny little fight at the end there with Batou.

Wondering what the watch is supposed to be about, if anything, seemed like Motoko was trying to remember what it was like to have her arms or a moment of regret having the cyborg parts.

An interesting stand alone episode yet again, and it may just be my favourite. Organ traficking and the question posed about whether the Major falls in the camp of having prosthetics just for the joy was fascinating. Im loving the psyche of her personality a lot, and cannot wait to exlpore more of it!
