According to Weekly Playboy News, scenario writer Urobuchi Gen plans to release some new anime by the end of 2012. He was asked to write a sequel to Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica but he has been irresolute about the offer.
He said he wanted to be a novelist but "I have never read any serious literature. I was only interested in entertainments with oppai (breast) and explosion." "It's nothing special for me to make cool girl characters armed but that's not the case with others. I put a bow, swords and guns to the scenario of Madoka as a common interest with Aoki Ume, who had been obsessed with Monster Hunter game as well as I."

Can't wait!
I'm actually glad there won't be a sequel for Madoka. I don't know what more they could do with it other then a spin off of some sort.

Gen is not the person who I would trust making an ecchi anime, it will be worse than HOTD.

We shall see how this turns out...
Sequel for Madoka really isn't necessary and I'm glad he also thinks that way. Seeing manga spin-offs turned into anime wouldn't hurt, though.

Well, looking forward to it.

A sequel for Madoka isn't really necessary IMO.

But HotD still managed to be better than most other ecchi anime.
Well, physics aside.

Trick answer...Fate/Zero airs in October.

I wouldn't be against a Saya no Uta OVA or something though.

Sequel for Madoka? Pfft. Masterpieces don’t need sequels. But another anime by Urobuchi-shi is certainly going to be delicious. Who knows, maybe even Saya no Uta will be adapted one day.

Nobody will be fooled if he tries to make another happy looking anime and then turn it all dark.

I really hope they don't make a sequel for Madoka though, the anime finished perfectly, continuing it would feel cheap. I'm fine with spinoff manga. Maybe they could do a few remake movies in 10 years or something though, lol.

Madoka doesn't need a sequel, plus Fate/Zero is coming out in Autumn, so I'm guessing it isn't referring to that.

Shall be looking forward to what he does though, his stories are great.

I'm glad Urobochi doesn't feel the need to write a sequel to Madoka, but a spin-off anime based on one of the manga or an entirely new spin-off wouldn't hurt so much in the future.

I wonder what kind of new anime he's planning to write...either way I look forward to it as well as Fate/Zero.

I too, have always been into breast and explosions. I seriously hope he can release something so tragic that it blurs the line between "okay" and "bad or illegal" content.

Whatever it's gonna be, can't wait. Hopefully, something more serious, i don't see Gen making ecchi show.

I don't know. If he played it straight I'm sure a lot of people would be fooled; and upset that it's not dark.

One more person who's happy with his decision of not writing a sequel to Madoka. It ended quite well as it did, I don't think a sequel could be pulled off without ruining it.

On the other hand, I am definitely looking forward to whatever he plans on writing.

Good on Gen for knowing when it's appropriate for a story to end. I wouldn't mind the franchise being milked a little more, but eh. Whatever he's up to now, I would love to take a peek.

Whatever he's writing, it's certainly better than most of the stuff out there. Now the question is whether he's going to say it's a happy story or not

Sequel for Madoka? Does that mean it'll be based off the Mahou Shoujo Orika Magica manga?

I'd like to see Gen Uroubuchi and Mohiro Kitoh write an anime together.

With the success of Madoka, it'd be nice to see a really good anime adaptation of Kitoh's works, and i think Gen Urobuchi is the one who can pull it off.

Kikokugai would probably work better as an anime compared to Saya. Though I would be perfectly fine with either of those 2.

It doesn't say he discraded the idea, can't you people read? And there's a lot of ways to make a sequel from madoka, the end was quite open.

Anyway, he's surely planning to air an anime during the last four months of 2012 so he can end the world with his creation on 21/12/12

Or air it late in Summer season, then delay the ending until as close as possible to 12/21.

Regardless, he's not fooling anyone, I think that we all know how it's going to end.

No wonder, Mahou Shoujou Madoka Magica scored really high and ended up ranked #13, personaly, i think it is overrated.

I'm fine with it I guess as long as its better than s1. On the other hand, I'll be really interested in watching a prequel of madoka magica the main characters would be charlotte and the rest of the witches that we saw in madoka magica and that would be another tragic anime, more darker than madoka.
