According to Weekly Playboy News, scenario writer Urobuchi Gen plans to release some new anime by the end of 2012. He was asked to write a sequel to Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica but he has been irresolute about the offer.
He said he wanted to be a novelist but "I have never read any serious literature. I was only interested in entertainments with oppai (breast) and explosion." "It's nothing special for me to make cool girl characters armed but that's not the case with others. I put a bow, swords and guns to the scenario of Madoka as a common interest with Aoki Ume, who had been obsessed with Monster Hunter game as well as I."

Nobody will be fooled if he tries to make another happy looking anime and then turn it all dark.
I really hope they don't make a sequel for Madoka though, the anime finished perfectly, continuing it would feel cheap. I'm fine with spinoff manga. Maybe they could do a few remake movies in 10 years or something though, lol.

It doesn't say he discraded the idea, can't you people read? And there's a lot of ways to make a sequel from madoka, the end was quite open.
Anyway, he's surely planning to air an anime during the last four months of 2012 so he can end the world with his creation on 21/12/12
I'm fine with it I guess as long as its better than s1. On the other hand, I'll be really interested in watching a prequel of madoka magica the main characters would be charlotte and the rest of the witches that we saw in madoka magica and that would be another tragic anime, more darker than madoka.
Mawaru Penguindrum doesn't have any scriptwriter confirmed for it yet...
Remember what SHAFT tried, but failed, to do with Madoka in regards to Urobuchi?
Yeah, Urobuchi may be trolling us again by trying his hand at an actual shoujo (I assume it's going to be a shoujo with the bishies and Ikuhara's previous works taken into account.) that's due for release in a couple of week's time.
The CMs for Penguindrum are certainly indicating that it's going to take a path similar to that taken by the likes of Madoka Magica (and Princess Tutu), that's for certain. Also, there was Utena references in Madoka.
