If you're a MAL supporter, simply go to Settings -> List -> Popularity and you'll be able to check directly on your list. If you're not, just check every anime season, filtered for only completed anime. If you're not, you can just go into your List and then Filters -> Sort -> Primary -> Popularity -> Desc (Thanks Vaturna for the tip) |

| Some of these aren't subbed, so be ready to either git gud at Japanese, or learn AI subtitling. OVA = Koha Ginjiro: A very obscure one, but honestly pretty good. No subs though, so you're on your own with nothing but raws. With only 662 Members, it's right there at the bottom of my list. MAL won't even show the amount of users here, or a score. TV Special = Mogura no Adventure: It's a charming '50s anime, nothing more. 864 Members, 421 users, and a MAL score of 4.51/10. TV Anime = Oi! Ryouma: Very good anime from what I've seen. Like Koha Ginjiro, no subs, just the raws. 1,206 Members, 456 users, and a MAL score of 6.44/10. Special = Nanaka 6/17 Special: It's filler. 2,169 Members, 891 users, and a MAL score of 6.54/10. Movie = Koneko no Rakugaki: A very fun and cute '50s anime. 2,329 Members, 1172 users, and a MAL score of 5.78/10. ONA = Robot Girls Z Episode 0: It's... an anime. One that is better described with the GIF attached below, as opposed to trying to explain it. 3,724 Members, 1,447 users, and a MAL score of 6.08/10. It's also 4 minutes, a whole MINUTE more than your "Not counting 1-3 minute shorts" bit.  Does the Go Nagai-ness make itself clear, here? Somehow it's only his 29th most obscure work. |

| An opportunity to cry about that more people on MAL should watch my favorite Chinese cartoons 😋 More people should watch Kay's Daily Doodles (2.8k members) and Let Me Check the Walkthrough First (8.1k members). They both have Japanese dubs and the second one even aired on Japanese TV. While we're at it, it's criminal that they're rated so low. People don't have a sense of humor and hate everything that doesn't look like your standard 23 minute episode anime. ^^ When it comes to Japanese animation: Either Nijiyon Animation (season 1: 12.8k members; season 2: 6.0k members) (3 min. per episode) or World Dai Star (15.3k members). Especially with World Dai Star I'm a bit sad that there isn't as big of an audience for these idol/musical type of shows. It's not that deep, but I absolutely love the concept of the anime to take stage actors and to give them superpowers. | FYI, as a non-MAL supporter, I also just had to go to my list, and sort by popularity. I'm kinda surprised that it's the one Anpanman movie I watched, at 500 some views. Then it's the latest season of the Bakugan Battle Planet reboot, followed by a bunch of Battle Spirits, specifically the sequels (Mirage, then Galette's revolution then Saga Brave, which makes sense). Least popular non-sequel show was SD Gundam World Heroes, which feels a bit weird to me, since I've only seen this, IBO and GWitch from that series. For some reason or another, the above are all counted as ONAs, so if you discount that, the one right below SD Gundam is a TV show; Acrobunch, a very old Mecha anime (it does not stand up in story, I do not recommend anyone watches it). Going by the categories set by OP, Special: Cyborg 009, the one that involves the actual author of the show. I'm pretty sure people just assumed it was part of the actual prequel (series), and not separated as it's own special, though. OVA: Melty Lancer. Obviously, some of these have a lot more views, just not by MAL users (the first episode of Mirage (which was a 6 episode series) has 583k views on the official platform on YouTube, and Anpanman is clearly not targeting the same type of audience as MAL, same for Bakugan). |

Granted, I'm in Gundam groups so I've seen stuff about Seed Freedom being posted a lot, but I'm still surprised that it's so unpopular here. That goes for everything Gundam in general here, my list was almost all Gundam stuff. Grendizer U being almost unknown was also a surprise, considering I learned about it via Twitter comparing it's OP to other stuff Fukuda also worked on. Granted, I watch it via torrenting not int he usual places I torrent from, and the place I get it from has Arabic as a subtitle choice, so... yeah. |
