I noticed while watching Naruto I saw a lot of christian symbolism that is targeting non-religious people such as myself and is trying to convert me into Christianity. Is there any anime you noticed are religious propaganda/have religious propaganda?

Wait wtf :D
Naruto of all things? How so?
Or just a shitpost?

Japanese generally aren't that pushy with religion, shintoism is barely even more than spiced up spirituality.

The most obvious answer is Superbook.

Yes, Fullmetal Alchemist is definitely a satanism propaganda: Main characters draw pentagrams, make contracts with Satan and use a dark magic. In real life they'd already be burned in fire.

So having symbolism in a show means that the show tries to convert you?

Erm what day is it again?

Neon Genesis Evangelion. I don't buy that the symbolism is there just because it "looks good".

Buddha Saitan is probably the most blatant example, literally being produced by the 'Happy Science' cult/NRM adapting a book written by one of its founders.

I probably regret this post by now.

Every anime will convert you to waifuism and your waifu will be your deity. Good luck and have fun.

Since Japan and Japanese people aren't big on religion, you'll never see such things.

You just over analyzed the Naruto thing. Stop over analyzing things.

Edit- oh, it's you. The girl with shit taste. Didn't recognize you with your name change.
Weak shitpost.

Don't know if it qualifies as propaganda, but Neon Genesis Evangelion has a lot of religious content.

But with that name, it was pretty obvious.

i’ve never seen one, but if i can point a manga, there’s one, and that is Raqiya, it’s a story about a war over the choosen prophet of heretic christian against christian, i read those and i rethink my faith for awhile after finishing it, because there are some true words there, but it gets very weird and confusing

The only religious propaganda I saw was in Madoka Magica,
they were trying to convert me to to the one and only goddess Madoka.

The Ancient Magus' Bride: Elias Ainsworth looks like the Templar's satanic God Baphomet, whose "bride" is the Church according to some mystics. Even his name, Elias means "Yahweh is God" in hebrew.

+1 for Madoka, but with no humor. This attempt of adaptation of christian morality in anime looks terrible bored.

Angel's Egg had some christian stuff in it (cross, fishes, noah's arc) but I think Oshii chose
those symbols because they looked cool.

Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood definitely. I am glad that the fans didn't fall for its brainwashing technique and just thought it as a harmless enjoyable shounen action adventure anime with Cute Brothers Doing Cute Things a.k.a CBDCT.

I would rate it much lower if it wasn't for veterans like Kugimiya Rie, Miyano Mamoru, Miki Shinichiro, Mizuki Nana, Koyasu Takehito, Nakamura Yuuichi and Fujiwara Keiji being in it. Especially Kugimiya Rie as Kathleen was amazing!

I just recently remembered that one of my favorite childhood anime Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne is...really christian?
The heroine is the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc and fights in the name of God against demons with a cross and gets angel wings and shit.
Ran home from school to watch that shit.

Nowadays it shares my list with Boku no Pico and Training with Hinako.

Lol Arina Tanemura clarifies she only wanted to draw an interesting story; none of the Christianity was meant to be her own beliefs. The manga goes a lot deeper into it and she makes a lot of it up.

Naruto shippuden was a trainwreck...after a while, I moved on to better and shorter shounens like D gray man and Magi.

Umm...... i don't notice it too much, but every shrine scene at new years in many anime like wishing with putting coin and push the bell, buy the 'this year prediction', and so on. Also the chrismas scene included

It may have some indirect message "if your join that religion, you'll be able to doing that 'interesting' activity irl".
But i'm dont take it seriously, 'propaganda' like that wont ever affect with my current believe

Same thing with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Hideaki Anno chose the Christian symbolism (crosses, angels etc) just because they looked cool.

Christianity appears so often, in part, because it's such a small and foreign religion in Japan.
