This analogy doesn't work, because you're essentially comparing a whole category of videos to a single show.
The more accurate analogy here would be if someone was to watch hundreds of isekai shows, and then claim that they hate isekai and their favorite genre is horror or something.
Like, if you're watching hundreds of isekai shows, you can deny it all you want, you're clearly an isekai fan, the same way that if you watch hundreds of gay porn videos, you're very clearly gay (or at least bi/pansexual. But definitely not straight.)

You can watch 500 eps of Naruto but if you are in love 5 years later and you watch a cute romance anime, obviously you will be strongly emotional about it and you'll be running around internet telling everyone how 10/10 this new anime is. Being a "true fan" is pretty subjective. You are the one who decides if you are true fan of something. There's nothing more annoying than people gatekeeping content and calling others "fake fans" because they didn't consume enough of something. |
