Pretty intense episode.

We got Rin who regained the control of his sword but still struggles to overcome the Supreme King. I like the new form that sword took on this episode though as it highlights how much Rin has mastered its ability.

Action is nice, camera focused well on the main attack on the Supreme King. I'm impressed by how far Rin has come this season honestly and to me, this was a climatic episode of the arc. The Shimei and Izumi character chemistry was also nicely done, goes to show how close they've become.

The teacher caught up so fast.

Barrier already to the limit.

Even if he's in ashe + water form, the regeneration is fast.

That huge fire bird is offering help. Blue fire?!

The girl still tried to save tsundere girl even though most of her power ran out.

Struggling to release a fire that only defeat the demon, then he did it.

The bird reminding him he would need to make clear about his identity.

No ED, main guy falling unconscious.

26:12 next, and one more ep. The brothers need to talk.

Finally we got some nice action in this episode. More than flame control training I think Rin needs to be trained on how to use the sword, since it's his primary weapon. One more to go!!

No! Suguro 。・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

Yukio is a dick! Well, I think he's afraid as well, for Rin. Worried.

I want to see Suguro and Rin and everyone visit Tokyo tower!

Rin did it! Nice moment when his flames cleansed everyone.

Shiemi's moment with Izumi was the best though, that got me (really anything concerning Shiemi gets me).

His friends are accepting him now as the friend he has always been to them.

I enjoyed watching the flame burn only the Impure King, that was fun to watch.
I kinda liked this episode, but not enough to make me think this season even comes a little close to season 1.

Oh dang, when the ending credits starting showing up I thought this was gonna be the last episode. Glad there is gonna be at least 1 more. They're gonna finish off with the after math at least.

I feel like they added some more action sequences to the fight it. Recall him one shotting the impure king pretty fast.

Finally a cool episode. Took it long enough. I really like the idea of warm flames which don't hurt. except cleanse everything bad. Wanna experience that.

Very great episode. Rin has control over his flames now, for the most part at least. The action was pretty badass and I'm glad that no one besides the Impure King was killed off. Can't wait for the final episode!

Great episode, awesome action.

Loved Rin's purifying flames along with Ucchusma's power.
Shiemi and Izumo's scene was really nice as well.

That ending, Yukio's pretty mad. Glad Rin finally accepted his demonic nature.

I fail to understand what's Yukio's problem. Rin saved everyone's asses and he's lashing out at him. What else was he supposed to do?! Rot in jail and let everybody die?

I admit it, the moment in the last scene when Rin says to Yukio that he accepted he is the son of Satan looked incredibly badass. The entire episode was badass, but that moment took the cake for me.

Nice to see Rin not only destroyed the Impure King, but he also was finally able to control his flames. That was a very big step in his development, since now he won't have to deal with the fear of damaging his friends.

Mephisto's laugh was awesome too.

That was, without a doubt, one amazing and awesome episode! Nothing else to say other than that, really. It really sucks that the next one will be the final, so I hope for a decent wrap-up.

Great episode, the last scene with Yukio and Rin was especially a great scene.

This has been a pretty great adaptation, even helped me remember some of the smaller details since it's been so long since I read this arc.

Hoping for another season announcement in the future since next episode is the last ;_; I really enjoyed the next big arc too

It is possible since there is whole other big arc soon after the Impure King + some more short arcs, but still there's more than enough to make 3rd season

Oh the manga sales were really boosted thanks to the new season:

No one expected a second season, so we might as well get a third in a few years...

thats great news! so we can expect another anime sequel then

i was worried of the weak disc sales of this season lol but we know that an anime adaptation can still have a sequel if its source material like manga sales increase a lot

While I thought this was a good and well-done episode, I can't help but be a bit disappointed with how anticlimactic this felt. The Impure King never really seemed like much of a threat, it just kind of showed up and then got taken care of pretty quickly. So much buildup for something that didn't even last very long.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Luckily for us those flames didn't burn away Rin's amazing personality~

Yukio's just really frustrated that Rin gets to break the rules all the time and still gets to save the day as a big hero. He was probably hoping deep down that the incident that got him locked in the cell would make him take things more seriously (like Yukio has to, all the time).

As good as this was (and it was excellent), I have to wonder what content this leaves us with for the final episode. The preview seems to suggest a calmer episode to close this arc off, but I don't think we've actually seen the last of Todo either, not until he's definitely confirmed as dead at least.

He just came out of a fight with a guy that's been messing with his mind for, how long did the whole fight last I wonder, about a couple of hours? He's wound-up after that no wonder. And last he knew of Rin he was under threat of execution and now he's out doing flashy dangerous things with his flames again. So cut him some slack...

For Rin this is the arc where everything starts going better, he accepts his powers and starts to learn to control them and he starts being real friends with everyone. For Yukio what starts happening is essentially the opposite, which is interesting for some people and annoying for others I guess.

Awesome episode! Super exciting and really makes me excited about the future of the show. That dialogue at the end with Rin saying "this is who I am, too" to Yukio really showcased his growth. Absolutely brilliant. :)

I honestly love this anime. I'd love another season, but if it's not in the cards, I wouldn't mind picking up the manga again. It really deserves attention.

While the beginning of the arc was dialogue-heavy and difficult to slog through, the action in these past few episodes has really blown me away. This is the kind of action we need in shonen -- fast-paced, focused on the strategy and the characters -- not a mess of flashbacks intermingled with constant inner monologues that don't highlight the actual fight at all.
