I think that depends. I classify them into different priority : the weekly grind, the daily grind and the marathon. For weekly it would be the currently airing anime, seasonal in short. For daily it would most likely be some of my favorite anime that i want to rewatch, so 1 epsiode a day would be fair. And the marathon is something i just took an interest on and will finish it ASAP. But right now i'm putting a lot of anime on-hold to get over the trauma from LoGH.

I actually used to be like you when I first started watching anime. I used to watch one anime at a time but then my PTW list kept growing and I found out about the ridiculous amounts of anime airing every 3 months so....Now I watch at least 9-10 anime per season but only 1 regular anime at a time. Sometimes 2 if the second anime that I want to watch is on Netflix.

i don't recommend watch 2 anime at the same time (like watch anime1 for 3 ep and then tomorrow anime2 for 3 ep)

u would no enjoyed anime1/2 fully cause you'll think something like this when u were watching anime1/2 "dam anime2 are much better than anime1".
thats just my opinion tho, i don't judge anyone that watch multiple series at the samr time.

I mean i watch anime in the same time cause I just don't want one to be dropped. So I get entrertained with another e that can be more interesting. But I won't call it in the "same time" but more "jumping around" XD

I'm watching 8 at the moment, with 6 of them being seasonal shows. I used to watch only one show at a time too, but because now I'm interested in seasonal shows, you have that 6 already that I keep up on when new episodes come out. I'd like if I could just have 1 more other than the seasonal shows, but because my brother gets interested in what I'm watching sometimes and doesn't let me continue without him, I have an extra show to watch when he's not around so I don't get bored. I don't think I'll watch more than 10 at the same time though, too many.

It depends on what's airing in the season and what older titles I decide to watch or marathon.

I'm watching 13 at the moment. 11 Currently Airing, and 2 that have finished airing the past. What I usually do is watch the usual episode of anime that's out on that certain day, and if I ever have any free time, I'll try to watch one of the two anime that's finished airing.

If the point of your thread is asking do you watch some anime at the same time (season), yea I do. Currently, watching 3 or so anime this season, albeit I put some anime in this season on hold due to its genre; mystery. Somehow, if I watch mystery anime in weekly basis, there must be some clue that I miss out (I am bad at long-term retention xD). Thus, I decided to watch it when finished airing, so I can enjoy to the fullest watching anime without missing any clue.

It can be good to have shows at hand that fulfill different purposes or fit different moods. You'll likely see people write that, after a stressful episode of Attack on Titan, Re;Zero or whatever, they like to relax with an episode of a comedy / slice of life / iyashikei "healing" show. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Iyashikei

Aside from the currently airing stuff, I generally have one main show that I've assigned myself to watch every day and get through, whether I want to or not. At the end of the day I'll reward myself by watching something relaxing. If I didn't practice self-discipline like that, I'd probably fall into watching nothing but moe shows all of the time.

I try to keep it to 3. Typically it falls to one that I almost binge watch until I cry/finish it, and then fill the void in my soul with the slower, less soul crushing one.
Eventually, I get back to 3, and repeat!

There's no method to how I watch or what I watch. I'm not really currently watching anything, but one season I watched more than thirty at once.

I guess it depends on my free time.

One or two at the same time, it really depends which anime I'm watching.
If it's interesting then I'm gonna stick with that one only until it's finished.

No matter what, I am always watching around 70, according to my profile.
I try to watch 30 seasonal anime, as well as others on the side.

I watch at least 2 but not more than 6 at the same time (not counting seasonals but I rarely watch seasonals anyway). They all have to be different, so for example no two sports anime at the same time.

I usually watch some seasonal along with some older, already-completed anime to go alongside the airing anime - just so that each day I have an anime to watch.

But that can change depending on how many seasonal anime I am watching.

I know, my anime-watching ways are odd. Somehow it all works in my head though. ;P

When I first started out, and for like the longest time, I watched several at a time. Nowadays, I try to prioritize one show, and then I'll also mix in a bunch of seasonals as well. So it's like I marathon one show + my weekly seasonal anime.

There are various factors such as the season itself, are you busy or free? Are you enjoying your Holidays? Normally I watch 4-5 weekly anime and if and only if I get enough time out of my busy life I catch up with a show I planned to watch.

At one point I had 30+ on my watching list because I would watch a few episodes before starting a new series
Now I try to keep it 10- which is really like 7- because some are long running and will take way longer for me to finish than a regular 13-26 episodes series

There isnt a definitive number. I just switch to any anime I want without a second thought. There are animes on my Watching list who have been sitting for almost a year already, and I casually watch some of my completed ones.

I tend to watch around 3 airing anime, 1 or 2 short shows and 1 or 2 long running at one time. So that would constitute +- 5-7 on average

I watch five at minimum + however many currently airing shows I find interesting. I get bored of a series really easily, so I have to constantly switch between shows... This method is also why it takes me weeks or even months to finish a single series, though.

What's the difference?

Multiple of course, the number depends on what the season offers + if I'm in the mood to watch some from previous seasons.

It really depends on what the season has to offer, but I've been watching 10-20 anime per season for the last year. As for non-airing anime, I do one at a time, 4-10 episodes a day depending on the length of the anime and how quickly I want to finish it. I used to be able do 3-4 different anime at a time, but that was when I was new to it. I find that it's just easier to go one at a time these days.

Only one or from time to time two(if I'm watching a slow burning SoL, then I'll put on an action packed series too). This way I can be immersed at everything I watch and not really miss a beat with its themes and plot points. This is also one of the main reason I don't watch anime as it airs.

Only one at a time for me.

I might sidetrack and jump into another anime if I get bored with the first though. I've only done this once so far, when I was watching InuYasha. I got bored around the 90 mark and put it aside while I watched through a few other animes before returning and finishing it out. I believe it was like filler episode after filler episode after filler episode... so I got bored since they didn't really entertain me.

I don't usually get bored though, but that's the only scenario in which I'll jump into another anime without finishing the previous. I watched the entirety of DBZ followed by GT (Movies included, so that's like 355 episodes + 16 movies) without sidetracking, so it's just a matter of it keeping me entertained/interested throughout.

I think the majority of people watch multiple anime and watching one at a time is the minority, may be wrong though.

I don't tend to watch airing ones, just tend to go for whatever piques my interest

And then I get tragically addicted to whatever I pick and then watch all of that one

And then repeat the process because I'm an addict
