Wait, it's that time of the year in this series already? Mm, Christmas...

A bit of a more serious episode I guess. Something from it reminds me of Death Gun because of the character design. And hoping for that guy to not ruing Christmas, they try to go after him. But the way the hero design is portrayed in this episode was just hilarious. A new hero is in town although I'm not even a bit impressed lol.

Didn't expect to see that the tech girl is an andorid O_O That's pretty interesting lol...Loved her backstory...Dat bear is really kawaii btw

Action scenes were pretty awesome too and I loved the displays from everyone that fought against each other as well as to see that our favorite ghost leveled up again.

The comedy was pretty good as well, the scene when they thought that the android was pregnant and was talking about periods had me dying and WTF the MC got a nosebleed from a child...What type of pedophilia is this xDDD

Mika trying to hide her identity, using the door to mimic both voices.

That was some random guy, getting bitten being a good wake up call xD

Meika being an android and that Kenji hero person.

Plenty of fun moments, the cat knows Yuuta better than himself! A good follow through would be the cat saying "I understand" with a straight face.

Mika's attempt at hiding her identity as Strange Juice was pretty dull. I thought Ito would figure it out immediately.

That superhero guy got owned, but did payback twofold though. Wonder what powered him up inside the house. O.o

Meika being an android was a bit surprising. Those misunderstandings over the wall were hilarious though!

Average episode. Judging from Yuuta's nosebleed at the end, everything will be reverted, I'm assuming?

I'll say this for Punchline: it's not boring so far. The action is always good and whilst the comedy and characters aren't great, they're amusing enough. I also get that it's supposed to be some kind of Flamenco-esque hero story mixed with video game tributes and whatnot. But in terms of executing said story, it still needs some work. Like why did you combine the two in the first place, considering they're not really related to each other.

episode was meh. 3.5/5. like how they keep all the action and gritty stuff so random and makes you lol a lil every ep. Mikas attempt was adorable kinda childish but i dont mind all that kid stuff i suppose, anime is rather soothing on that part and the action is iight. meh i like how ghost boy is improving every ep but seriously that last part had me loling like wowowowowowow ahaha.

M-Meika's a robot?!
I'm not so sure how I feel about this sudden reveal.

As for the episode, well it's pretty much the same problem I've had with the rest of the series so far; the comedy is shit. There was more action this episode though and the actual plot seems to be going in a decent direction so it's definitely worth sticking around for. I'll be hoping that once the show gets more serious with each episode, we'll see less of the comedy, but the slice of life scenes are fine.

Also that engrish was glorious.

The bear has CuRe Virus.

One of the two girls in episode 1 must probably be Yuta's sister. Not sure what the Mikatan look a like is there. They are also wearing the some clothes, were they in an experiment facility in the past?

Also, Zero makes a guest appearance.

Yuta and Mikatan must be related somehow (blood, or that facility thing), since they have the same kind of power (physical stregth, both eye and hair change color to orange, lasts for a short period of time).
And another person might be that white-haired guy. Their hair shape is very similar + he knows Yuuta (he said something to him. "Okaerinasai, Yuuta" matches lip movements, hehe).

Makes sense. I don't think he has white hair, though. He looks more like a blonde with nice fashion sense.

Seems like he's a very strong high level since he can possess a full grown man like the driver and a big bus. But aren't ghosts the only ones who can do these things? He looks healthy to me. Maybe he's Tsubouchi, the dead guy and leader of Qmei?

When you realize that Meika actually subscribed to a magazine about handstands. Which was foreshadowed in the last episode. Funny.

I don't think this is a possession, because driver acts rather... mindlessly? Plus his eyes are orange, which hint that it's related to "power" (and that possession/spirit thing is different).
So I would make a guess that "control" (like Geass) is the power of that guy.

Also eyes of possessed Yuuta are not orange (well, those couple of pixels from 1080p video).

My theory is that possessed Yuta, is a Yuta from another timeline/from the future. The OP foreshadows this. That's why he has the exact same powers as ghost Yuta.

Jesus Christ, what's is not to get? We got backstories of two main characters, another sets of mysteries and foreshadowing. Does animewatchers these days need to have everything on a silver plate from start?

Well, there was a little bit of plot in that one.

It seems unclear what type of show this wants to be. Is it supernatural? super-hero? comedy? slice-of-life? It really comes off as a jumbled mess.

It's also weird in that the main character doesn't really interact with the rest of the cast. It's almost as if we're watching someone watch tv. While we're learning stuff about the girls we know almost nothing about Yuuta himself.

I have a hard time caring about anyone - except the bear; he's cute.

It was shown in some short flash backs but he's a ghost right now so he can't. Its safe to say that the physical Yuta does interact with the other residents in the Korai House, offscreen.

Physical Yuta is this Captain Falcon, so he isn't actually a bad guy? Maybe?

stephen5000 said:

I think MC is some sort of representation of the viewer's perspective.

stephen5000 said:

That's the biggest mystery. Who is Yuta? Who is the person inside his body? Why does a otaku pandering fanservice pantsu bait show have a plot? Is this really the fall of notaminA? Is MAPPA doomed? Why indeed.

Minor back story with Meika, She's a Robot...(who is trying her best to do handstands?)
Tribute to 999/Zero Escape...ugh i-i can't accept seeing one of my favorite games being a tribute here as something that redeems this anime. (though i suppose it helps slightly)

Side note/just something that slightly bugged me: Is the cat the Doc? I don't know they (looks wise) reminded me of each other (i know that sounds weird, considering ones a bloody (ghost) cat the other a human) Idk i couldn't shake that feeling, like as soon as they introduced him.

Now that you mention it, the cat does act like some old man. And he can tell the future too? Like how the granpda said that Meika will meet Strange Juice?

But Meika's grandpa looks more like an older Yuta

Who knows.

I think it fits the shows very random feel. I may be overthinking but it's plastered with symbolisms.

It might seems like anime logic at first but cinnamon were used on dead egyptians pharaohs so that the bodies won't decay when they go through the afterlife. I don't think cinnamon is a random thing they decided because it has something to do with spirtual things?. I know its a stretch

Why don't we see more interaction with the physical Yuuta? Do the girls just ignore his presence. Why isn't he included in any activities? Also, it's obvious he is Kenji. And what's up with Yuuta's sudden realization at the beginning. If this didn't have a "save the world" plot and was just random SoL hi-jinks and they keep the panty shots down. It may be somewhat enjoyable. But it's meh. Mikatan is the only reason I'm still watching.
