I thought this episode would signal the return of hamon ; /

He already used it , in Mariah's fight to win , besides get over with hamon it won't appear again past this part.

Not true...It will appear again (unless you mean past part 3 :p )

Epic episode, I remember this from the original OVA's and this sure was a lot better! Really nice to see it again though. Let's see what's next!

Polnareff being a dumbass like usual

Sure I'll bet my soul. This guy must be joking with all the supernatural powered guys trying to kill us

Man I really wanted Joseph to win as it was a battle of Wits and his stand is pretty weak and now Jotaro is properly going to win it :(.

Well at least Joseph has had a better fate than his grandfather Jonathan who's fabulous abs have been abducted by Dio and his father who didn't even get his own series because he was a normal guy that ended up getting eaten by one of Dio's zombies. So yea, he might not be the main center of badassery as he was in BT but he still gets some love in SC.

I doubt anyone who's made up their mind about SC will have a sudden change of heart at the end of it, regardless of how good the final 10% of SC are.

IDK. I never liked the first half of Stardust Crusaders when I first read the manga either, but the latter half changed my mind.

This, of course, was definitely one of the fights responsible for it. That and pretty much every single thing from Petshop onwards.

Pretty late to the party, but I agree wholeheartedly. I marathoned season 1 way back in 2014, and have off and on followed Stardust Crusaders since then. While there have been good stretches where I've kept watching SC episode after episode and really liked it, I've had looooong periods of not watching & times were I felt it was lacking. Like, tbh I love the characters, stands, and I like the plot a lotV but for a while SC might have been my least favorite part. That saidV these past few fights have been great especially D'Arby! If this last string of fights are as great as they are reppedV to be than SC will have risen a lot in my eyes. (My favorite fights before this probably were...Hanged Man Ebony Devil Steely Dan and Oingo & Boingo if that last one counts lol)

This is my favourite episode of the entire series so far. It reminded me of kaiji where people gamble and use tricks to win.

So they rely only on D'arby's gambler's pride? There is no reason for him to return their souls even if he loses.

Read all the comments here.
People put Joseph on a pedestal and have such high expectations of him.
I really don't get it.

I watched BT and never have I once thought he was some special snowflake or warrant a best jojo label.
Maybe I need to rewatch it.

I can understand why Joseph lost. The opponents I faced in part 2 were a lot different from Darby.

Still, I love battles that are won through wit. Jotaro is up next.

Aww no Hamon.

Joseph mispronouncing D'arby's name did not put off the brilliant tactics.

Barbie managed to kill two of Team JoJo, a feat that none of the previous stand users managed to pull off (What Hanged Man and Emperor did to Avdol doesn't count) Although temporarily, they're not breathing which makes them dead.

The gambler tricked the trickster... OOOOOHHH NOOOOOO.

Jotaro seems confident, his poker face never breaks. Maybe he'll use that to his advantage.

This is hands down the best episode so far imo. Kind of surprised Old Jo got tricked. He should have been able to see that trick. Still I hope that this is how the rest of the series is.

Barbie eh? Interesting name
I think this dude called Obie will make 2 episode a bit more interesting
Though I know that the main characters 100% will win xD

You know you can beat him until he can't see or anything like that
Then gamble about things you can see
But eh.. Not interesting for plot I guess xD

Like someone else said, even Jotaro didn't notice the trick while using Star Platinum's vision so give Joseph a break ffs. It's amazing that even at his age he's still able to outwit people and fight while traveling across the world.

Most dangerous stand user Jotaro has faced so far? Truly so... This cheater of a gambler single-handedly took the souls of Polnareff and Joseph, effectively killing them there. Seeing Joseph losing a battle of wit is quite sad to say the least, although I do have to agree that D'Arby Barbie's tactic is actually next level!

Didn't D'Arby's appearance looked similar to that of George Joestar I (Jonathan's father)???

Sadly they can't kill him.
