ClariS Restarts with Karen as a New Member

Five months after the announcement that one of Claris' duo, Alice, will graduate from the J-pop idol unit to focus on her studies, the nineteenth volume of LisAni! magazine announced a new member. Karen, who is also an active high schooler like Clara, will replace Alice.

On January 7th, ClariS will release their eleventh single, "border," which will be Tsukimonogatari's ending theme.

It was also announced that the new ClariS will make an appearance at the LisAni Live-5 Music Festival, along with Kalafina, KOTOKO, ZAQ, fripside, Suzuko Mimori, and LiSA.

Someone who think that fame won't last long. This is the kind of people who think that fame won't solve your financial need forever which is true in many artist case.

as much as I liked "connect" by them, I happy they are back. New member makes me exciting, cant wait for new releases <3

I have heard their (Clara and Karen) first single and it sounds really good ! Karen has a more mature voice ~ I'm really happy that Karen successfully defended ClariS' name! >~<

I just hope this matter doesn't end up like Perfect Blue. xD

They have yet to reveal their looks to public right? Pretty sad yeah. Going back to study (normal life) without anyone recognizing. Seem like a good dream.

claris' producers should have used this as an opportunity to make a new sound instead of rehashing the same thing over and over

I miss ClariS a lot. They were an excellent duo who sang fantastic songs.

This. You should always have a backup plan, and they both have regular lives outside of music.

Ah, nice. But it's probably not going to be the same... and not just that the band is "ClariS" not "ClareN" ("ClareN" wouldn't be as punny, anyway).

I guess it makes sense they'd want another high schooler_ I bet it helps with marketing.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I loved ClariS before, and was very sad when I heard one was leaving, but I had accepted it. Things just won't be the same now. No matter how similar the sound is, it just won't be quite the same to me. It's gonna bug me. Oh well, maybe i'll learn to love the new girl having hearing more songs.

They are not ClariS anymore then.. Well, I hope we can get the same quality of music and I'm glad their single will be on Monogatari series again.

I'd have preferred a name change. When bands change members, it's normally fine since band names mostly aren't based on the names of the members themselves...the ones I like anyway. This is like if Dave Matthews left Dave Matthews Band.

Was always confused as to whose voice was whose while it was still Clara and Alice lol looks like the deep voiced, mature sounding one(not sure how to exactly describe it lol but in their song Drop, the verse before the chorus, the 2nd voice that sings) was actually Clara.

Karen's voice sounds like one of those soft spoken, elegant ojou-samas in animes XD and the way she's represented by a star............a sun = star XD and a moon is accompanied by stars lol

The only songs I know by them are the Madoka Magica, Nisekoi, and Oreimo openings. But from those they do seem like a pretty good band.

So are they going to go by the name "Claren" now?

Is it just me or does Karen sound lower than Clara, or do I have both of their voice mixed up? O.o

I do like Karen's voice, it's very mature. I am gonna miss Alice's warm tone A LOT. Hope she comes back and join these two later when she will be done with her studies.

Honestly, I can't even hear the difference. I could never tell apart Clara or Alice in the first place. Still sad the group changed though.
