I'm starting to warm up to Miyokichi a lot and i like the relationship she and Yakumo have. I feel like she really understands, and accepts him as a person and how he's not really attracted to women. Also when Bon takes off his obi on stage and revels he's actually a man was so cool!! He acted super confident and sassy and I loved it :) |

| Another great episode. We can clearly see the difference in how the two treat women and it's nice to see Yakumo opening up to Miyokichi a bit. The play was awesome! Seems like that's when Yakumo really discovered his love of having the audience's attention huh? :P Preview looks like we're going back to Yakumo's childhood surprisingly enough ... I wonder why they've stopped going through his adulthood? Hmm ... :O |

| Wow this was good! Yakumo was really shining this episode, and he was really enjoying himself. I honestly felt as if I was in the crowd watching the performance. Miyokichi is also really fun to watch on screen. I really loved this episode :D |

| That was beautiful. This anime is like a big movie, I'm always eager to see the next episode. I hope that Yakumo will be more confident after this nice theater play. His girlfriend is so kind with him, he is lucky :) |

| Damn, this show really is great! Enjoying every second of it. The atmosphere is warm and calm (sometimes even quite intense). Character development and relationship is very likable. Can't get enough of this.. Top nothc! Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu > Boku dake ga Inai Machi |

| Kiku-san! :D That was such an awesome performance. I think this episode was a pivotal point in how he became so good at Rakugo and not just the verbal part but the acting part as well. It's interesting to see the birth of a legend. Yotarou has some tough shoes to fill. |
| Wow, that was great! I liked the first half with Miyokichi but second half of this episode when they both acted on the stage in that play was just brilliant! This show is doing good, it almost felt like I was in a theatre. I really can't say I'm into rakugo but this anime always manages to absorb me in its unique atmosphere. |

| For some reason, I feel nervous in each episode. I really like the play and it was really fun. Kiku looked and acted like a real female and the photos turned out to be amusing. |

| The everyday life insight, advancing in an almost flawless, another stumbling block on the past of the protagonists is cast into the lake of understanding of history. Pleasant narration, characters that you make love for their purity, quality of good drawings, even the sets are beautiful. |

| Okay, so now I'm kicking myself for dropping this halfway through episode 2 when it was still airing. I didn't like the first episode at all...in fact I nearly fell asleep, but with each episode, it just gets better and better. A slow burn for sure, but once everything comes together the reward is worth it. Miyokichi is a character I didn't think i'd like, but she's great & I'm finding myself really routing for her and Kiku. They're definitely starting to care about each other and it's evident by their body language (which this anime does so, so well). Kiku's development and characterisation is wonderfully done too, and he's definitely my favorite in the anime. Him playing the woman was pure gold- I'm glad he finally found his Rakugo!! Of course, we know it's inevitable that tragedy is going to strike because of the present...so I'm definitely on edge! |

| They continue playing on the inferiority complex Yakumo has right from the beginning to now, this was a slight breather to allow Yakumo to shine for once and truly savour the spotlight. This is a trope that I hardly ever see in Hollywood, such complex and contradictory feelings of love and hate, pride and jealousy. But I could easily count the shows that have this angst between the favoured MC and perceived side character of the MC. Looks like we'll be revisting this, even delving back in time to their childhood again. It's hard to believe that Sukeroku would be the 'bad guy' but I have a feeling that it will be the case. Off course I doubt that Yakumo would be snow white innocent leading up to the tragic incident. I think the main reason would be because they become professional rivals much like 'the prestige'. But the straw that breaks the camel's back is women. It's a trope that they've introduced as far back as when they are becoming futsuname. It's also a common storytelling device in East Asia and Europe with Christian morality mixed in. I also remember that whenever Sukeroku's daughter stares in contempt at Yakumo, Yakumo looks physically uncomfortable, it's something that Yakumo is still unused to. I think that may imply that the final trafic incident was not malicious but an accident in that turbid environment. |

| If I didn't know Kiku was a man and watched that play scene, I'd just assume he was a woman without any doubts. I like how this anime is a story-telling of a story-telling and yet does it well from what I've seen so far. I didn't even feel time pass by watching this episode. |

| LOL that play awakened Yakumo's inner narcissist. And more bromance between him and Shin. Also liked the interactions between Kiku and Miyokichi a lot more this time around. Probably my favorite episode so far. |

| Shin's got bitches in the living room gettin' it on and they ain't leavin' till six in the morning...or not. Yakumo was having none of that. Yakumo could've won RuPaul's Drag Race with that getup. I'm glad this play looks to be giving him the "big break" he deserves; looks like racy rakugo and feminine roles are his thing. |

But Miyokichi seems a nice lady, so I guess I'm okay with it, but STILL! ;-; Kikuhiko as a woman is so fucking beautiful. Hahaha. I'm wheezing when he's so shy and too anxious to go out on the stage. Hahahaha. So fucking adorable. I can't. That play is still a form of rakugo, right? Or that play was just an introduction to Kikuhiko's rakugo performance? I'm lost. Hehe. |

| Yakumo is my favorite trap. He was struggling lately and felt some jealousy towards Sukeroku because he was becoming a lot more popular while not struggling nowhere as much as him, but I think this great performance will give him a nice boost in understanding his potential. |

| Yakumo's relationship is really interesting... Honestly, he seems romantically interested in him, especially with the way the anime tells the story and chooses to focus on certain expressions and scenes... As well as that, there's his unhappiness with Sukeroku bringing home women and his own inability to seemingly truly fall for women... And this episode, where we have him get in touch with his feminine side (while a tad cliche) and embrace it / excel in it. Regardless, I was happy to see Yakumo feeling a bit more confident for once. |
