Rough Translation of the Synopsis One night right before summer vacation, Daiji Manatsu, a second-year in high school, sees a weird round rainbow floating in the sky above Seed Island (Shuushi/Tane Island) and ventures there alone. He has seen this rainbow before. With the memories of his father's mysterious death and an encounter of a mysterious boy and girl, Daiji arrives on the island while the alarm of a building labeled "Earth Engine" is going off. Someone asks him "Are you a captain?" just as robotic intruders from Uranus called "Kiltgang" arrive. The battle around the shining stars is about to begin. | hype hype hype Apparently this is going to be a much darker mecha story and have life endangering battles from what the interviews were saying, so this will likely be a very very different in tone and style from star driver Also that mech looks like tauburn after major steroid binges |

| Can't bring myself to be excited about this news though. Aside from not really into mecha genre to begin with, Bones' previous mecha series have been complete miss for me. Eureka seven AO was completely pointless storytelling and characterization-wise, while Star Driver was only mildly entertaining at best, never managed to pull its punches for the most part and suffered a lot from repetitive monster-of-the-week format. If they really want to make a new mecha series, they'd better bring out their A-card this time. On the bright side though, i generally prefer the stylitic flair of Bone's mecha series more than Sunrise's |
