| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's kinda hard to watch a sad Sora if you ask me. When he shows emotions, that's a load of emotions coming out. Madoka also learns more about him during her haircut session. Kinda funny when the girls laughed at the guys with their practicing routines. Also, Chiaki riding that swan duck thing...lol. I'm not surprised some of the guys got into more fights again. |

| What's his mother mean they'll never meet again...?? I'd rather know what's up with her than the whole thing being hung up in the air and not getting clarified. Great scenes with intense emotions, the insecurity is not good for my heart though. The new guy looks like fun, I already like him. While Momoharu seems to have grown up to be the most responsible of the group, he really seems to have found his purpose with basketball. But stop showing close-ups of a the random hanger instead of the obviously shirtless guy, what the hell. Perfect opportunity for a bit of fanservice, perfectly missed. |
| Really liked how Madoka and Sora's mom got more focus this episode. Madoka carrying Sora on her back and her chasing Sora after pulling an all nighter were hilarious. The short backstory was pretty touching. |

| See, this is how backstories should be done, unlike Hoshiai no Sora were they are randomly cut with weird tonal shifts in an attempt to look more "serious". Clean "Show don't tell" linear backstory that goes to the point. We still need to know what's up with Sora's mom, but I bet they are saving that for later. Sora's backstory really got me, and the promise he made to his mother twisted the dagger ;_; So we got another bad boy now, seems like things are going to get complicated. It's nice to see the gang taking Basketball on a more serious approach, although they seem to be on a tight spot as they need to stop getting on fights. Chiaki riding a swan was really hilarious xD, Chiaki's gags are always the best. @Aniik8pv2, Off-topic, but I'm quite curious, where is your signature from? |

| Sora's backstory was touching. :( I laughed when Sora's grandmother ask Madoka for money. xD New guy seems skilled but has a terrible attitude. I expect he'll come around at some point. yellowheartren said: What's his mother mean they'll never meet again...?? . This statement was a little too vague, I think she was implying that if Sora would only meet her after winning the Inter-High, then they wouldn't be able to meet cause of probably some restriction or something for entering Inter-High or something along those lines in the first year or whatever. It could also mean something to do with her condition so yeah, extremely vague statement that I didn't know what to think of. |

| I see, now, this series is leaning towards that Slam dunk delinquency basketball rather than the "kuroko" standard. But I like Tobi/Kite whatever his name, I hope he'll revive this series, because something major is missing from it. I was impressed by Momoharu in that situation, all he could think about was basketball. Sora's backstory was okay in a sense. How could you hit your mother though, you little twerp? Poor Yoshino. |

| Fucking Chiaki xD The guy bringing a mechanical swan and riding it while having a "serious" talk with Momoharu was bloody hilarious. Haven't laughed this hard in a while xD OK episode this week. The backstory part, though a bit generic, was still interesting but I don't understand all this secrecy concerning the health of Sora's mother. I mean, based on how the rest of the characters were acting, her situation doesn't look like something "so" serious so I wonder why not just saying what illness she has... I think this just builds unnecessary tension but well. On the other hand, the new guy seems... interesting. A bit exaggerated with his "I don't give a shit" kind of attitude but let's see how Sora will manage to convince him to join the team. P.S.: By the way, Madoka's new haircut looks absolutely awful. It had to be said, people. |

| The episode was pretty good. The way Sora’s mom acts seems a bit forced to me but nothing so important to be seen like a negative thing. This new character doesn’t inspire me too much, he seems the “Aomine” of the case, hopefully it could be a good character. |

| The fights in this series are okay, they don't have the same impact as the fights in Slam Dunk did. The cast in Slam Dunk looked way more menacing and I could tell the height difference between characters. Here, I didn't know that Momo was supposed to be tall but Sora mentioned Momo's height being one of his admirable traits when he wrote to his mother. It's still my feel good series for the season and I enjoy each episode as they come every week. Knowing there will be 50 episodes makes me really happy. That guy has a tattoo but I'm surprised that they haven't expelled him. That's a serious offense. I don't think many foreigners understand that. That's why Sora and the others were really shocked to see him tatted up. Tattoos are looked down upon, yes they're slowly becoming more accepted as a fashion statement, but onsens, companies, etc. will not allow someone to enter or hire someone if they have a tattoo, even if they're a foreigner. That girl at the end, I feel sorry for her but at the same time, when you see someone running towards you, normally your first response is to move away. She just stood there. Cheap plot device to get the guys into trouble so they'll have a hurdle into forming their basketball team. However, that guy isn't even an official member so he should be punished separately from the team. |
