I think it gets more readable after the first episode, that, or I got used to it or something.

Download it and watch it at 80 % speed or something like that. That's what I did and it worked well.

Not a fan of the animation, and the main character being a Rap God doesn't help either, but I won't be shallow and give this anime a chance to impress me.

Oh boy....looks like I found another Kaiba, Trapeze type show...and they talk way too fast.

This one may take some time to digest.

First Impression:
Not really that phased by speed; on the contrary there's plenty to keep you interested
main character seems relatable enough
ozu seems pretty gay
akari seems pretty cute
"I like young-girl sexual creations, Lolicon is just one hobby of my many hobbies," he says.
I ask what his wife, standing nearby, thinks of his "hobby".
"She probably thinks no problem," he replies. "Because she loves young boys sexually interacting with each other."

Damn, us who have to watch the sub version got this one very hard to follow lmao, not impossible though. Interesting plot, great dialogue and voice acting, awesome ending theme, unique animation, etc... Great way to begin.

Stumbled upon this using a random anime button and it looked interesting so I gave it a go. Only after watching the first episode I realized that this is Tatami Galaxy, a show I've been hearing a lot of good things about. For a moment I was certain this was a Shaft show. I'm looking forward to watching more of this.

Fast like Bakemonogatari, but not as fast. Anime's art, animation style, and story remind me of Bakemonogatari too.

Seems promising. Let's see how he relives his life.

I really love the core of this show, and I want to watch it.
But the narration is just too fast for me to enjoy the show as it is.
I can't comfortably read that much text and also watch the animation, this actually kills it for me.
I've always been a "subs masterrace" kinda person, but honestly I don't think I'm going to watch this unless it gets dubbed.
I despise dubs with a burning passion, but this narration style + subtitles totally kills the enjoyment of the show for me.

Main character is so relatable.
Feels a bit pretentious/melodramatic so far. MC's not a likeable character. (Thinking about catcher in the rye here...)

Another fast paced anime I've across out of no where! and this is only possible to watch thanks to subtitles XD

Another thing shocked me that this is produced by MADHOUSE! So I guess this anime might be more like Madhouse version of Bakemonogatari XD (since both anime gave me trouble in the beginning episodes)

Started first episode yesterday, finished today... aside it being interesting with some really different animation, dunno what to think about it, absolute no idea where this plot will go for, but I m eager to try more out.

It interesting this was adapted by Madhouse but is very similiar to Shaft's Monogatari series, almost like it was written by the same writter (different writers here).

I've been wanting to watch this for a while now, mainly because I loved Yuasa's work with Ping Pong but I surely didn't expect them to talk this fast. I'm already watching another dialogue-heavy anime at the moment so this ain't making things easier for me lol. I hope that I'll get used to it so I don't have to pause at almost every sentence to understand stuff~

It's definitely his fault for entering a hook-up sports club looking for love despite not being sociable nor sporty xD Those fireworks looked gorgeous alongside the dark background ♥ The character designs were really weird but Akashi looks damn fine despite her RBF~ The ED was really good too!

Not wanting to actually advance on his love life backfired on him to the point of literally going way over the edge. Ozu being competition though lmao.

I don't like this anime. I'm watching in fast forward but only like 1.25x because the narration is too fast to watch much faster. I don't find this anime charming or entertaining. I'll watch some more and see how it goes.

But I really liked the first episode!
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

Really fun first episode, it was entertaining because they talked too fast. Feels like they are rapping the whole story, not as boring as I thought it would be. This would not entertain me if I still hasn't watch Monogatari Series which have the same type of dialouges, but more faster.

OP was great, it gave off a vibe of a long Summer with times being spent just being idle, or maybe that's just my depiction since the OP showed a maze of cluttered rooms. On the other hand, ED was phenomenal, from the singer's melodic voice to the simple yet aesthetic visuals on top of the lyrics of the ED song itself. Nothing short of amazing...

If I haven't watched a dozen comedy anime before which generally have a faster than average talking speed, I would've never even barely keep up with how fast characters talk in the first ep alone, damn. Puts rappers to shame.

Obviously, the art style is the most eye-catching thing. I am still not sure whether I hate it or love it, but it's by any mean not boring, especially with all the 'quirky' visuals and colours, coupled with the already extraordinary story itself. Well, almost 10 years since this show is released, and I am finally here, taking my steps towards this somewhat obscure yet legendary series. Well, here goes, the journey begins!

First Anime since Steins;Gate that has made me ready to binge watch the whole show.

Realized the director is the same who wrote the script and directed Ping Pong the Animation.

Such an amazing talk they had here. Surely this show became a legendary premises as ever. Like, the fuck? Yeah, good, yeah, weird, thats it! And wtf with that moan in the beginning? Nice catch and interesting story. I pretty sure forget 99% of the conversation and begone with it. Atleast the art in a god mode so that i can easily satisfying myself. The joke was real.

I don't know what's the point of reading lines this fast... I can deal with McGinley in Scrubs, and it added to the character, but here it's the whole time no matter what happens.
Looks like the whole screen is being "used", taken advantage of, I like that.

Anyway, very nice starting episode setting everything pretty clearly. I get we won't have so much details for the other rewind episodes, at least for what concerns the central dynamic.

5/5 (but also 1/5)

Be it subtitled in french or english, I had to pause and read consciously rather than watching the whole screen and letting the sentences "come in". And hearing the jap.voices, the problem clearly came from the original.

@St0rmblade 10/10 Really?
Is this again all about a student getting (unhealthily) obsessed with getting a girl instead of studying? I loved the film Yuasa did based on another work from this writer but... seriously? All this technique and mise-en-scène would be better used for something else. (Well, at least, I am prepared and will avoid thinking the story is trying to tell something, outside of its realm.)

Well he won't be studying there, that's for sure. Watching the film first seems a rather strange choice since it tries to build on the established characters from the show. The author is writing a sequel, by the way - I tried adding it on MAL but it'll probably take forever to get approved.
Don't be surprised by my Yuasa marks since I'm pretty biased in favor of his works (and gave 10s a lot more liberally years ago), mostly for presentation (though sometimes the story is nice too). I'd say he started getting more "normal" with time though.
The show is rather a series of vignettes with bizarre twists that attempt to teach the protagonist something. I did find it enough to be enjoyable and entartaining to watch (not forgetting the show's other strengths though). It's probably a different experience for people who live through the same things as the protagonist, I suspect.
