| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hmm, more info dump narratives this episode. We got Cardinal explaining the virutal world as well as part of the Underworld. There's also more story development of Cardinal's purpose in the current timeline. Pretty much a development episode. But knowing Kirito, he's the type of guy to get himself involved to make things right. That embrace scene though and reality of being human. |

| By making contract with the devil, the lady who is now like a "God" is created two "Gods". Fight against two gods. That librarian sensed that she cannot win against her with the body that she hid to a place that she created library. That lady also found a partner, so the librarian also needs a partner. So that little spider (Charlotte) has been looking after the two for the librarian and lead the road. There's no change to the world to defeating the lady, but she doesn't approve of the lady, so she wants to reset it. The librarian wants his help on defeating the lady, and promised in return to make his wish come true. To feel human, which is feeling via hug. Main guy agreed to go along with the plan while thinking about alternative way. So that thing that came out from that knight's head is really the key to become the lady's knight. The memory's fragment of each knight is also hidden on the top. Knives with the librarian given in order to fight against Alice girl. First, they need to get swords back from the 3rd floor, then level up, then to get memories fragment in 100th floor (!). OP and ED still from first cours. |

| I guess it was a decent episode, kinda felt it was weaker than all the previous episodes. Probably cause of the long info dump that while good just wasn't as interesting as even say the previous episode. I was a little confused by one of the opening scenes, from my impression of the previous episode, it seemed like Cardinal had existed since the beginning but this episode seems to portray her being made from the Administrator. Did Ufotable work on this episode? The CG in the little skirmish in the beginning between Cardinal and Administrator felt very reminiscent of something I would see in a Ufo show. The upcoming episodes are gonna be good. |

| Nice to see SAO return for the second cour. Hmm so the admin in desiring to continue living and expand her knowledge resorted to overwriting other humans huh. The fight between cardinal and admin though brief sure was a fierce one. Cardinal's plan though sure was a drastic one. All this time the one thing that Cardinal wanted was a hug huh. It was cute seeing Cardinal's reaction. So the piety module is the lock that is sealing away the memories of the knights then. Makes sense that the most vital of memories will be the key to freeing them. An excellent ep that did well in expanding upon administrator's characters while also showing how cardinal came about as well. Now the real challenge begins. |

| That embrace between Cardinal and Kirito was sweet, it always warms my heart to see cases like that where people who've never known what it means to care for someone or simply just be human, get to experience that feeling for the first time....I must say that I really like her as a character despite how cynical her goals are Overall, this episode was filled with exposition and gave us the rest of the backstory for her and Administrator and I enjoyed hearing about it all, as well as hearing Cardinal explain herself and her motives because its really important that we at least get proper reasoning for how she and Administrator are different from each other and exactly why we would even consider being on her side in all of this, so on that front, they did a good job I kinda hope Kirito does find a third option but at the same time, I wouldn't be mad if Cardinal's option ends up actually happening (Also, I liked how they found a loophole around killing Alice lol), especially because I want to see a war happen between the dark beings and everyone else Good episode though, and I can't wait to see the battle against the Integrity Knights (I hope we get some great fights from them) and I also hope that unlike in the Aincrad arc, we actually get to see a good amount of these 100 floors explored |

We got the rest of the backstory/flashback and then the rest of her episode was explaining her goals, followed by her explaining how certain things would work, what else was there to even show lol? |
| THis episode had a lot of info dumping which is nice. Cardinal just wanted a hug huh? Talk about 200 years of waiting to be rewarded with that. That aside the first cours or first 13 episodes was slow. Not too bad on some things, but it will get more intense later with those fights with the Integrity Knights I imagine. Looking forward to the 2nd cours or the next 12-13 episodes. |
| Not story-plot related question, but is it A-1 Pictures have messed up the airing episode for this 2nd cour after a week break?? Supposedly they finish the 1st-cour in this episode 13 at last week because we still have same OP & ED, beside the plot is just narrative-explain of the Underworld by Cardinal for two episodes, 12 & this (kinda weird have to wait for a week gap just to continue the explanation)... Is it because they want to paired up with other new airing of Winter series (that majority start this week)?? |
| I liked this episode. I enjoy episodes like this. If we didn't have this episode people would complain in the future saying that an episode like this was needed. If the season only have episodes with action people will complain about that saying that season was boring only action nothing else. This was a good episode. I think Sword Art Online: Alicization have been really good so far, much better than the first 2 seasons. I'm really enjoying this. |

| I have mixed feelings towards this episode. Cardinal vs Quinella was animated well so that is good. But everything else that made reading this part great was rushed. They skipped what exactly was recognised as 'error of the main process' by the sub process. They skipped how cardinal disconnected the entire library away from the church ( its space is randomly determined coordinates that continuously change, so no outsider can enter) They skipped Kirito pondering over how can he decide which 10 people he should save when all the people are under the same threat of death. They skipped the fact that Gigas cedar and some similar objects were placed by Quinella to limit citizens expanding territory. They skipped most of the memory of the swords. Probably they will show it again later. I know it is only 4 episodes per book. But when they rush so much it is disappointing. Also the characters talk in very long sentences without any variations in voice. There is no time given for their reactions in between sentences. They could have fixed this if they had one extra episode to work with. |

| Awe, after all these years all she wanted was a huge, should have went outside and held out one of those free hugs signs. Her backstory is interesting though, being a regular child and then in an instant she basically becomes the most powerful person in the world wielding all that authority thanks to Quinella. Yay only another 100 floors lol, Aincrad all over again, Kirito's face told us exactly what he thought of going through all that again. Ah excellent, they now have a way to save Alice, I can tell it won't be that easy to get her with one of those knives though, I'm sure she is very powerful by now, it will definitely take some effort. At least they can know enhance their own weapons once they get them back, looks like that red knight from the previous episode will be in their way first, looking forward to the upcoming fights. |

| I was actually hoping for a new opening, but I guess we will get it next week with the beginning of the 2nd cour. Episode was pretty nice, but I guess I have to rewatch it to memorize everything that was explained here. |

| Ayy I can already feel the doujins being made, the whole convo was ripped straight from hentai "I feel the warmth" " Im curious how this will progress, everyone was constantly talking about how much better alicization is. I mean we still have 1 /4th left, but its like the episode before the final (arc) They have a goal now and climbing the tower should be a pretty straight forward business. I do think the setting is even more of an asspull than the previous ones though. Also, admin sama can apparently erase the memory and souls of people. Can she do the same to humans? Is kirito the only human right now? This would have been my first question, if she wants to erase everyone, what about real humans? And what about the dark territory, she mentions the dragons are strong enough to be significant.. yet they were quite easily slain.. and they could always just create more knights, right? just copy paste them if you have to. Feels incredibly weak- I hope this is just the character not knowing everything and not whats actually going on Overall I liked it so far, but I cant bring myself to care about the NPCs. | Another good info episode and also buildup for next episode! We see more about Cardinal backstory, Cardinal fight against Quinela was well animated, we also learn about what Cardinal wanted to do and how they could save Alice, and why they weren't able to recover Eldrie memories. They now have the "mission" to recover their swords. Looking foward next episode! |

Like holy fuck. Anyways, with it being animated, you got Jeanne vs Nero...I mean...um yeah Administrator vs Cardinal was cool. Now for the mortal combat. |

| I think its normal to be bored by info dump eps, but you need to understand that its part of the story of this arc. So a little eps of info dump is necessary. |

| As someone who likes infodumps, I find the motivation to go against the administrator very weak. Why Kirito wants to follow a path that may lead into a genocide-like event that would make Asuna cry in a corner and probably jeopardizing years of research? |

| This felt really short. I can't believe I am saying this about SAO. Too many terminologies that they're hard to remember. I usually try to remember the Japanese word so that I don't need to depend too much on the subtitles, but I am not being able to catch the words here. I love that they actually animated Kirito and Eugeo walking. A lot of anime, I have seen recently, just use a motion tween. I also like that their walks weren't synchronised as it would look unnatural and awkward. This reminded me of Game of Thrones a little bit. While people are fighting against one another, a bigger enemy is getting ready to attack them. lol. (Hope they don't use this as an excuse to add the administrator into a harem.) I just noticed that Eugeo's hair is rounder than Kirito's and his cheeks have more baby fat than Kirito's. It's no wonder I found him so cute! |

| Aniplex is so bad at subbing. Bunny Girl had grammar issues every week. Every few weeks they had a translation issue. SAO has been pretty good so far, but this episode they messed up hilariously.Subs are the same on Hulu as they are on CR so it's definitely Aniplex themselves at fault. Here's the lines I'm referring to Cardinal: How long do you plan on standing there in a daze? Kirito: No way The first sentence is the one that was mistranslated from what I heard. It should've been more like: "Do you plan to stand there forever?" Basically, "no way" doesn't work grammatically when used in response to "How long". Really bothered me, obviously. As a whole, episode was pretty solid but also felt really long lol. |

I've long ago accepted sao's bad writing and characters but shit like this pisses me off. Instead of wasting time on garbage like this you could have shown the arc you skipped, (idk what was skipped i simply heard an arc was skipped). I enjoyed the fairy trash more than this. |

System Call this, System Call that...man if Kirito comes up with Macros for all of those commands he'd dominate... Charlotte! She's gonna die, isn't she... Cardinal gonna make some backup data for Kirito.10 people...so Eugeo, Alice, the two girls back at the academy, that one guy who challenged Kirito back at the academy, Cardinal...That's 6...so we're probably going to meet 4 more on the way. Maybe Quinella might be one of them... Cardinal Social Link Established! 100 floors...ehe...ehehehe...Here we go again! |

Plus, this is an optical acoustical medium and it does not deliever the way it's supposed to be. If I wanted to read words (or subtitles) explaining everything that's happening I would have read the novel that does exactly that. |

SAO defenders are framing criticism to info dumps as not understanding world building. You can have world building without people standing around explaining pages and pages of arbitrary concepts that might explain why a singular event happens later. Look at HunterXHunter(to use your avatar) - Magic system and world building all came about by watching antagonists and protagonists interact with that world and reveal the differences to our own through cause and effect. Not sit in a library, cafe, tavern, hallway, command center, open field, for 10's of minutes on end and just narrate with lip flaps. It's really bad story structure and writing and it's frustrating that many in these threads make excuses for it. "Just wait guys, it gets better! This is needed to setup what happens later". Fune wo Amu had more compelling story telling and that was about making a dictionary. This is just "infodump" the anime. And it is getting worse, not better. |
