| If there was no Geass in Code Geass then it would have ended in the first episode with Lelouch getting shot, it's the entire premise of the show. As for realism in anime as a whole, I don't think it'd be better at all if there was more realism. Some shows aren't made to be realistic at all and that's to be expected since anime is fictional. Hammering more realism into those types of shows would make them a lot less entertaining. |

| If it had been more realistic, the author would have been stuck in hell trying to write a plot that worked. Unrealistic fantasy geass elements + realism = difficult to write plot A lot of the plot holes were ignored because it wasn't realistic and even then some were noticed. Let's be real, what was realistic about this? |

| Some anime/manga does have much more realistic themes than others, but then again it's all about execution. I've seen people complain about KnB not being realistic, particularly in the latter part of the story. This is frustrating as the author established early on it wouldn't be the next Slam Dunk. |
| The reason people watch anime in the first place is they want to escape from their boring and uneventful realities. If you want to see a realistic anime then you might as well not watch it. As it will be super boring. To end it on the positive note, give anime in a slice of life genre a try. They are the more realistic anime out there. |
