THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Selesia and Meterora looks decent in their casual clothes imo.

We got more info dump about worlds and stuff this episodes. Well for their efforts, they did get some Earth food (Oh Meteroa and her gluttonous appetite). Meterora's explanation was rather cleverly done as she continuously talks about creators, traces, etc

We finally get to see the old guy that was referenced by Yuya the previous episode. I'm really curious to see what role he'll play this season. For what's worth, I'm guessing he'll play an important role with the military girl soon. Alicetelia and Mamika seems to be getting along well.

All that food made me so damn hungry lol

But putting that aside lol, it was really heartwarming to see Meteora's new resolve and getting her full reasoning behind her actions was very informative and I greatly appreciated it because it got me thinking even more which I love. I liked her already but this episode made me love her even more than I thought I would have and this main cast of protagonists just works so well together man

The reason why that's the case for me is because this series could have easily went full retard and had everything be normal with no consequences for these game/anime characters being here but instead they decided to make things more logical and introduced a very fitting plot device that balances things out and in turn makes things more interesting in terms of how these characters use their abilities and interact with regular humans

We finally got properly introduced to the old dude (I like his chill personality lol) and Alicetania whom kinda reminds me of Saber with how noble she is and I gotta say that so far I don't have any problems with them and I liked the interaction that she had with the magical girl

Great episode overall though, but I will say that I love how we got a representation of the typical mecha genre with a kid piloting a giant mech xD

So instead of actively destroying their world with their abilities, they can destroy it even by simply using them, since they don't respect the laws of physics.. In a way Gunpuku is already close to her goal, by having brought them to the real world. All she has to do is set up as many fights as she can.
Somehow Mamika joining the "evil" side didn't suprise me. Then again maybe she just wants to stay with Alice and might not necessarely help Gunpuku.

A pretty informative episode I suppose.

So we basically might be heading towards something like a Doomsday plot due the very contradiction of the fact that beings who are not supposed to exist in fact exist. If that law were true, every Isekai anime out there should not exist. xD

My favorite part of the episode was when Meteora said she respected her creator for creating such a great world. It was really nice to see her appreciating him. :)
Too bad the guy died in an accident.

Seems the military princess really does want to destroy the world, no info on the mystery from the ending of last episode though.

The soundtrack in this series is pretty good.

I can see what they are trying to do, but there's something missing and weird in the presentation. That whole explanation felt like it came off from nowhere at a convenient time and I'm not sure how she is so certain in the validity of that information, except if Himegimi gave it to her. I hope she has better motives than destroying the world for the lulz. (however that happens.. ?)

The constant blabber doesn't help much either and most of the stuff is more than easily concluded from the other clues they give, at least the ep end was more interesting again, but I will appreciate if they introduce some action and stop following the same formula of big talk + little cliffhanger.

Mamika is kawaii though

Seeing how pissed off Alicetaria was about the type of world her creator made got me thinking about how pissed off the characters from, lets say, Attack on Titan would be if they could meet Hajime Isayama in real life. Or maybe Sasuke, I'm sure he'd have a thing or two to say to Kishimoto about killing off his entire clan.

Anyway, pretty interesting episode with a lot of information again. It was nice to see Meteora being appreciative of the world her creator made and how that kind of strengthened her resolve.

Very informative episode. It's unfortunate Meteora's creator died before she could meet him. It was nice of her that she appreciates the world he created. That strengthen her resolve. Alicetelia is mad at her creator for creating such a cruel world. She and Mamika are getting along.

Another amazing episode! I enjoyed Meteora's speech about remaining loyal to what she believes in, whether she is a real person or a fictional character. It really drives home that she has renewed her sense of purpose. The best part? Inori Minase delivered that monologue without changing her tone of voice. Once again, Meteora serves as the one in charge of exposition, this time with more serious results.

The conflict between the protagonists and Military Uniform Princess grows more intense with this episode, particularly with their opposing ideals. The interactions with Aliceteria and Mamika were simply beautiful and give the characters more understandable, human sides.

That ending, though!

When world building, there are much better ways to do so than talk to the audience. Souta is so incredibly passive that I feel like I'm just being lectured about the plot. Meteora's conclusions come at a very convenient time for flimsy reasons, and all the interesting interactions in the background go unvoiced while Meteora just TALKS TO THE AUDIENCE. Not once, but twice.

I cannot stress how lazy this kind of directing is. When writing a script, you should try to show, not tell. There is even less excuse in a visual medium since the whole point is to show. But instead, we get told while watching a bunch of mini-scenes that aren't even voiced. This show is just bleeding potential all over the floor.

Looks like Gunpuku wants to destroy the world because her creator killed herself. It also seems like she met said creator (Setsuna) and Souta, before everyone came to this world, and started to care for her more than just a creation of it's creator. Souta knows Setsuna very well and has probably met Gunpuku for at least one occasion but for one reason or another he has forgotten her. When Setsuna killed herself (probably bullying or hate for her work), Gunpuku decides that rather than killing the people who drove Setsuna to suicide (or realizing that it's futile to do so), she should just end the existence of the world who rejected her creator (and dear friend).

Don't get much impression about the episode unlike before. Maybe because most of the topic is about Meteora talk about her creator and the effect of that "Reset". But whoa, Selesia is looking GOOD wearing that not-usual-armor cloth.
Well at least another "Creation" appeared.

Maybe it's impossible to show something you can't see, at this point in time the phenomenon Meteora is explaining is not happening and probably there won't be any traces for a while. This exposition was just a way to give characters motivation to fight for the world instead of just destroying it.

That or maybe the whole anime industry right now has a boner for Minase Inori's long drawn out speeches

i hope she ok or maybe later found a new creator if possible ?

and then i hope they not give tooo much info episode after this because already episode 4 tho its too much for informative, giving too much informative meaning same as giving spoiler what happen next to this end episode.

they should be learn informative episode should be just 2 or 3 episode just like hataraku mao sama did only 2 episode then next for comedy and action for balance out.

The poorly handled exposition is just too much. The characters are just too bland and uninteresting. I am guessing the main character created the antagonist and the setsuna girl committed suicide from bullying from either fans or school life. If its going to take 22 episodes to reach that conclusion I am out. None of the characters seem to question the fact they as fictional characters exist. all they seem to care about is their creator made their "worlds" bad. Its a interesting premise but the execution is poor so far and I don't think its going to end up being a masterpiece at this point.

Too much dialogue...

But I understand it was necessary so that the flow of events don't feel rushed. I mean, it would feel weird if Meteora was like "Btw, creations contradicts the law of your world so there's a chance we're all fucked" and the others went "Oh Ok, let's get to work".

Still, they could've used at least some imagery to accompany the dialogue, instead of a bunch of still frames.

Eh, for a series with such a silly premise and poorly executed character psychology (the otaku pandering with how grateful anime characters are to exist, how serious they take their "creators", how much they like Japanese food, how reasonable so far most "creators" are etc.) this show probably should've focused on action and fantasy aspects, let it be even fanservice. Too many listless infodumps from the white haired girl, and it's not interesting to watch or even listen to at all. It's not an example of a good storytelling and very unimaginative, which is sort of ironic, considering this is a story about storytelling and imagination. I like the art, and I want to see all characters introduced, especially the occultist girl... speaking of which, why did they feel the need to make an infodump move the introduction of the mecha kid? and what's with the weird things like that glasses shot or cookies used to write "creator"? Episodes like this seriously dampen my interest and hopes for this anime. And it carries the heavy air of the second half of A.Z on its shoulders as it is, with the same director, the same stale Sawano and the same attempt at being a super hit despite some obvious plot problems. Maybe with the same issue of the pilot episode being much better than the rest of the series too, if they don't pick up the pace.

Warning: Pretentious rant incoming

10...damn...minutes...of characters...talking in a room...giving out obvious dragged out exposition...a speech about hope or some shit that we never SEE...
And then ANOTHER 10 minutes...of characters talking about...things we already know...
Of course we know that the characters have been, "translated" or some shit when entering the real world, and that their physics-defying powers may cause destruction of some sort. You don't need to spend more than 5 minutes telling us this!
Even in Fate/Zero where we are actually given little direct info about the servants, those small bits of info were shown and elaborated. You could actually FEEL, that they are HEROIC SPIRITS.
In Re: Creators, what is there to enforce that these characters, are from stories? That they have magical outfits and powers? That's every fantasy anime ever. That they, "talk about coming from another world"? WHAT ARE THOSE WORLDS?! GIVE CONTEXT!
When Saber talked about her ideals of what it meant to be king, you would just go, "Fuck yeah, now THAT is a heroic spirit right there!"
In Re: Creators, when white-haired girl talks about having a, "wonderful world", you go, "Wait, what? What world? What's your world like?"
When white-haired girl began to write something as obvious as, "trace" with fucking letter cookies, I could not stop laughing. At this point it shows that the studio has stopped giving a damn. You know what, at least make it full-blown ridiculous with dramatic music like the potato chip scene from Death Note.
What is the point of a voice over montage when the characters doing the voice over are doing the montage? In other words, why not just have the characters eat pizza AND talk at the SAME TIME, aside from not having to anime both, spending time, effort, and resources?
"I bought this box of cerial with my face on it, cause I liked it!"
NO SHIT! WHAT OTHER REASON IS THERE FOR YOU TO BUY A F*CKING BOX OF CEREALS, WITH YOUR FACE ON IT?!
Stop calling the villain, "Military Uniform Princess". Call her ANYTHING, as long as the word "Nazi" is in the name. The creators of this are Japanese, who are from a country that's recent fought with Germany. We know the girl looks like a Nazi, the studio knows, just call her a fucking Nazi. I'm begging you.
Fuck it. I've been WAY too nice to this series. Dropped. If I want to see an anime where story characters beat the shit out of each other, I'll just rewatch Fate/Zero for the 3rd time.

Well this episode did quite well to develop some hypothesis as to what Uniform-chan's plot is, and just how they are expecting her to achieve it. What I loved the most though was how they are incorporating how both parties are assimilating to their current situation, both the characters and their creators.

Oh and now we have not only a mech pilot here, but an actual mech as well... Betcha scientists of our world would give an arm and two legs to test the feasibility for creating our own.

Now here's a thought.... what if the characters were extracted not from their original medium, but from an alternative medium.... like from a doujin instead of from an anime..... would they have the settings from the doujin, instead of from the anime? I could see so many things going wrong if Uniform-chan picked the wrong medium, what with different endings and medium exclusive content and stuff...

I don't mind dialogue heavy shows, and I liked the monogatari seasons that I've watched so far, but the dialogue here is neither as interesting or presented in nearly as compelling of a way. Monogatari has a really unique presentation, here all we get is just watching a bunch of characters eat. It doesn't help that the characters in Monogatari are more interesting too. I don't hate this episode personally but I do think it's clear that exposition is not this show's strong point. My personal problem is not that they're talking too much as much as how it's pulled off. But whatever, interesting exposition is not this show's strong point, I'll live with it. The main takeaway from this episode is that they're setting up the excuse to have these characters beat the shit out of each other, so that will be fun when it actually happens kek.

I actually think the exposition is handled here better than in epiode 2, but it's still not the show's strong points. World building is better integrated with story events instead of sitting and talking, but since it's all theories and future possibilities meteora is talking about well it's a bit harder.
Btw inori minase's voice (meteora's VA) is so sleep inducing .

Holy shit stop talking. The concept is what's keeping me watching this, but holy fuck the execution. 'Dialogue' that is obviously an excuse to allow the writers to get away with less work later on is not good dialogue.

And if by chance they're just trying to be 'true' to Meteora's character with all the infodumping they could have a little more fun with it, but given how serious it is that may not be the case.

i know it was a fuck load of more exposition this episode again, but i liked it a LOT more than last episode.
i'm liking that the series is taking its time and not trying to rush everything to keep viewership - i think the staff probably had faith that word of mouth would spread once it ''got good'' and more people would pick it up. idk. eiher way i'm glad.

i'm just waiting for the animation quality to drop LOL there's no way they can keep it going for the whole series, surely?! it just amazes me that they're even going out of their way to animate things that don't need to be animated...

i'm in love with the soundtrack, too. it almost makes me feel like i'm listening to a hollywood soundtrack. something about each track just has a full body to it; more life than the usual anime ost. even great ost's from this season like scum's wish feel flat in comparison.

on a final note, i love how you can almost always tell where they got inspiration from for the characters LOL. welcome to the gang, shinji? (or apparently ald.zero according to my friend but idk i never watched that show)
