Dat Engrish~

I think the episode was kinda interesting as it goes into more depth about the investigation related to Makata Shiki. I think Souhei's curiosity about her is more unique than originally expected. The weird running with the amount of imaginative surrealism was quite amusing this episode.

Also really creepy at how Makata just laughs after the crime she committed.

God, finally the story progressed a little. That thing Magata created is truly wonderful. I really didn't see that coming, it was so interesting!

Please, don't start complaining about 'engrish' like In every fuckin episode, in every anime with English conversation. It's ridiculous. If you are talking with foreigner, you are complaining about his/her accent too?

The story is great, but art is killing me (especially 3D scenes). But it's A1, so I don't know why Im suprised, most of their anime looks like this...

Didn't expect that Engrish conversation to go on so long, but it was pretty interesting to hear thing's from Miki's perspective for the first time. I also think that the conversation puts a damper on the idea of Magata and Miki swapping places, given the way that Miki was acting. It may have all been a convoluted act (stranger things have happened), but I just can't see it as a real possibility. Also, that invention of Magata's was pretty impressive, though I did initially think it would be pretty pointless until she actually showed up. Speaking of that scene, why do the conversations between Magata and Moe (as well as large parts of the show in general) always seem to come back to the death of Moe's parents? Why is that of all things so significant? There has to be more to it than what we've actually seen, even if this episode did provide a far clearer picture of how that all played out.

Excellent episode, definitely one of the best so far.

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't laugh at their accent and at least the 'engrish' doesn't sound like they got it directly from google translate, but the stiff delivery of dialogue is just...well they tried, and there's really nothing they can do.

"I know almost nothing about my sister who was separated from me when I was born and I only met her a couple of times but she has a very attractive personality that one time I scratched my knee on the swing she said something totally out of place and difficult to comprehend and humans are stupid and I just want to stay away from this unfair world." Yeah I can see why you found your sister so attractive and it's a good thing no one asked what you think about the murder of your parents at the hands of your beloved sister 15 years ago.

Seems like everyone buys into the idea that she looks just like she was 15 years ago, well she is Japanese, sometimes mothers look younger than their daughters, must be something they eat.

Shiki Magata is really smart because she can invent 'plot device', and who put those machines that require you to submerge into some kind of liquid in the same room with foosball and pool?

So this is what Shihi meant for 'freedom', free from her parents, but she paid a really high price for that, was there a better way that didn't make you end up in a physical confinement? I mean it's usually nice to have choices.

Great episode. This series feels back on track now.

Something weird happened. I was trying to work and watch this episode at the same time. I thought, "It would be nice if this was dubbed so I wouldn't have to stop to read the subtitles." And then they started speaking English, haha.

I'm getting tired of them saying this though.

(screenshot)

Saikawa's aloofness doesn't seem as contrived to me anymore; the characters are aware of it, and even criticized it.

The Paprika segments were intriguing, and answered some questions I had.

Great music.

They're both Japanese. It wouldn't have been strange for both of them to be speaking their own langauge. There was no reason to have them go through all that terrible acting.

Amazing Engrish, 11/10.

No but really, why throw in a random Engrish conversation between two people of the same nationality? They both know Japanese, they should have just had them speak in Japanese. Whatever, it wasn't that terrible, I've heard worse Engrish.

Nishinosono's dream world was pretty amusing to watch until shit got real with Dr. Magata. And Magata laughing hysterically after killing her parents was pretty creepy. I really wish the transitions from the present day to the flashbacks with Dr. Magata were handled better. They always seem too sudden and "out of nowhere."
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Why are 2 japanese characters talking to each other in English for so long? Even if she lived overseas, why doesn't she speak her own language?

I loved that Moe chose a bikini with the same pattern as Lum.

I just read this comment here (I can't think by myself sometimes, it seems) and it would be pretty cool if things turned out this way. I think it's an interesting theory, but perhaps a little too dark and over the top lol :p

I'm really liking this but it's the kind of show to marathon, not watch weekly

I cannot be sure whether the anime will follow the book faithfully regarding the final resolution of the murders, but if you really want to know:

Just don't think about it, because it makes no sense.

Sorry but I liked the enrgrish parts because it shows that Japanese can capable too hey, props to the VA's though the dialogue was not that awesome.

And the second and last part was awesome. Soooo it was Sensei that was really on Moe's side when she lost her parents. And Shiki not having guilt after killing her parents lol. I could see the parallel between the two.
The world shall know the truth soon.

I find really suspecting that they put so much emphasis on the "doll" theme, and again this episode made clear how magata thought that the human body is only a shell for the mind. So i have one theory: what if Magata managed to find a way to put her consciousness in a computer or something like that? many things would start to find an explanation and it could be that the robot which was in the room cut magata's body and rearranged it following her orders, dunno.
Also one really interesting thing is the lego soldier in the room: it's actually so big it could fit a person inside.....
spooky...

Damn this was a good episode.

Liked that long 7 minute long English conversation, their pronunciation was surprisingly good.

But that ending though. Magata is not right in the head, I guess she's one of those evil geniuses (though for her it's not evil but crazy).

dat engrish. halp. ears bleeding.

But damn. The second half of the episode made up for that. When Michiru appeared inside the dreaming machine and repeated Moe's conversation with Magata. That left a cold feeling. From the Moe flashback to when her parents died, and the Magata flashback when she killed her parents, it seems their stories have many more parallels. Blood on a favorite doll/dress gets thrown out. I also wonder if the coincidences in hair color means anything: Young Moe and Magata both have short black hair; Current Moe and the Doll both have short light brown hair.

I have heard way worse Engrish myself, the accent itself was off and the enunciation was completely off but it was actually understandable.

As I thought Moe's parents died in a plane accident but it is very interesting how it was Saikawa's blood that got on the dress. I'm not too sure how I feel about the very plot convenient super-dream machine- seemed like I was watching Paprika for a second- but the delivery of Moe's flashbacks was impeccable.
