| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well that was interesting. I especially liked the style of the OP theme song. The OST also gives off a bit of mystery-like feel too. As for the main characters, I find Souhei to be an interesting character actually especially with his personality. Magata Shiki is also a strange character but the episode establishes a story already in terms of content with her background and intellect. Not sure what I think of Moe yet though... Overall, interesting episode. There's a lot of ways this show could go about with this and Magata's character has a fascination side to it. ED theme song is also catchy imo.  |

| Apart from the OST that REALLY suits the mystery theme.....Like....Nothing happened lol I hope that the dialogue was interesting because this was so underwhelming xD EDIT: Alright, the subs made this a lot interesting to me....Really digging the characters so far (Well the 3 main ones) and the mystery aspects are starting to come into play around the long dark haired girl Really excited to see where this goes now |

| Aniplex really getting into the whole talking anime thing these days. Considering this is some of the most popular stuff around in Japan right now it's probably the right call. Sakurako-San sure made itself a whole lot more lively though as an introduction to a mystery anime and a cast. |

| Well , it was really hard to understand without the subs but , most of all , i understand what is going on. Interesting story. "What is life?" "What are we?" Where are we come from?" "Where are we going?" That is really interesting. i like this one. gonna be enjoyable to watch. And i love the OP and the ED. there were some smooth jazz in it too. i like it. |

| Right up my alley!! Will try to find the original novel for this. Loved the OP theme and OP theme animation. Something different, refreshing and suits the theme of the story pretty well. Character designs were decent and animation was fine. CG was a bit weird. |

| Most of the first episode took place in Souhei's room. A highly psychological episode and the series will somewhat be the same I predict. Good animation, can spot hints of 3D but suits this show. Loved the animation in the OP & ED respectively. Two days, two very promising shows. This and Beautiful Bones are the ones I highly recommend. |

| I torn about it. On one side I love the tone and general style this episode had. The characters are also interesting, Saikawa-sensei fits my taste especially. Then the we have all those questions that fall into category "meaning of life". I liked it all very much On the other hand though the whole episode was filled with endless conversation, which isn't bad but I still don't know what this story is supposed to be. Hopefully it's not about the romance development. I believe that it won't be. (hopefully) In the end, the style in which this anime was made wins my heart, so the story must go really badly from here to make me drop it. Even in this glorious season. |

| Not the quickest of starts but I'm definitely intrigued, possibly even more so than I was with Sakurako's start. At the very least, I'm really interested to see what direction this takes going forward (I mean, what's with Magata Shiki for instance?). Either way, I have a good feeling that this is going to be one of the highlights of the season. The OP and ED are excellent as well; both are up there with my favourites from this year. |
| Loved the overall atomsphere and theme going on, but my god was this slow, and I can handle Monogatari as well. The conversations were simply dull and uninteresting and unfortunately I was bored throughout. Nothing happened as well. Though the premise is interesting, so I'll stick with it. |

| Very uneventful first episode, but had enough to solidify my great expectations for this show. The next 2-3 episodes will really be what decides how much I like it. I enjoyed it . Asano's character designs look great, and the writing was pretty good(that was more what I was worried about). Very much looking forward to more. |
| What are the odds of finding the same piece by Bach in different anime on the same day? Well, as with Hyouka, no complaints about the OST. Anyway, a very interesting episode with top notch character designs (Asano Inio, who else?), nice color scheme, some food for thought and well, very slice-of-life-ish nothing happening. So far lots of potential. Hope it will be used to the fullest. |

| I must say the pacing was really slow as a first episode, felt more like a tv novel than an anime in this aspect, also filled with lots of dialogue, which was really interesting though, there was nothing that seems pointless. The animation looks good, tough that car CGI is really silly in my opinion. I haven't readed the novel nor watched the old movie, but i find it interesting. And the opening is already one of the best of the season, the BGM was good, that bachian suit at the begining... lol is that a trap? |

| This looks good. Good direction so far. I don't really like MC girl yet but that might change over time. She is the overly-jealous type but at least she has the right disposition to be likeable later on. At least she seems intelligent and observant when it comes to human behavior so there is a chance for her to change. Sohei is already likeable. Not much known about the mystery yet but it seems like that it's going to be one long one instead of many small cases. To you and all complaining about car cgi: Show me one modern tv anime where the main car isn't cgi. This one just stood out more because of it's design. I agree on the opening. | Aside from the "Bach Cello Suites" playing in the beginning and towards the end, barely anything stood out. The mysterious ambiance is there, but that's all there is. The pacing is a bit sluggish, but that's nothing major. I do expect this to become a great show though, considering the author of the novel Hiroshi Mori, has been a big influence to NisiOisiN. Hopefully, I won't be let down. |

| Not exactly what I expected but it's decent so far. Nothing much really happened but I liked the introduction to the characters through body language and dialogue, not heavy-handed exposition. Everything felt natural. Obviously this first episode is simply setting up the mystery behind Magata Shiki and introducing us to our cast of characters. The conversations were fine, Moe is definitely a jealous type but I'm sure she'll get over it. Sohei is interesting, but kind of irritating in a way. He's definitely eccentric, if not a bit of a pseudo-intellectual. I like how Moe calls him out on it, though. Overall I liked it, though that whole '7 is the loneliest number' conversation was very cringeworthy. I know it's probably there to magnify the fact that Magata is a genius but it seemed very forced and pretentious, as if randomly talking about big numbers is somehow intelligent. Meh. |
| I feel smarter just watching this. This is definitely an anime for intellectuals. Seven is a lonely number because 1x2x3x4x5x6 = 8x9x10  "never tell others what you're really thinking" "luxury means something with no meaning at all" |

| I don't mind if it's dialogue-heavy (Monogatari series is awesome), but if it's dialogue heavy and it goes [almost] nowhere, then there's a problem. Overall it was okay, probably will get better later. The BGM, ED and OP are really good though. 3/5 |
