Shakugan no Shana III (Final)

Flawless masterpiece.

Shakugan no Shana is the perfect example of how to write a story with beginning, middle and end, a story that doesn't throw away its themes and ideas and commits to them to the very end.

The third season of this show is not only one of the best anime ever made, it also makes the two previous seasons better in retrospect. What seemed like a regular paranormal anime is now the first step in a fullfiling journey.

A masterpiece is not something that is perfect but something in which the good overshadows the bad and Takahashi's-san writing accomplishes that like a really hot, burning ... flame.

Shana III is a complete mess, from start to finish

- Story 3/10
I really don't like when a game, or anime, starts with a spoiler, the episode with tells how most of the history will develop. Most of the time, the history does not develop to a point where there spoiler plot will blow your mind, and you just leave you with the felling "is that it ?"
This is Shana III, no explanation about anything, a majors of loosen dots through the history, too many elements that does not add anything. A mess. And in the you ... just keep thinking "why not just do X or Y ?".

Nothing to complain, pretty good.

- Characters 3/10
This one I can't even rank it properly. If we just had similar characters from Shana II, that would be understandable, but there was so many people in there, that history development was affected too. And I don't get that because they had two seasons to arrange the plot, even then looked like a completely new anime there. Therefore, the characters could not even be explored properly.

TLDR: A mess. Complety.

Some shows are great from beginning to end, over many seasons and OVAs and movies etc while other aren't and there are some that just fall apart after only part way through and should have gone final long before the end.

SnS Final should have gone Final before reaching "Final."

The first season was fantastic to me and I could hardly wait for season 2. All but the last 5 or so episodes were really worth much of anything.

Then, we reach this. This is a huge disappointment and I'm not going ... to even bother completing the remaining episodes.

The story is dry, wrung out form all of the previous content that was already dried up. The same visuals stand, which I appreciate, but the story does too. Consider how much of a chance you want to give this one if you anticipate on sitting it all the way through (which is one more entry after this one.) There's a huge potential for disappointment.
