The previously announced Tate Anime app has added an anime adaptation of Jiro Taniguchi and Masayuki Kusumi's Kodoku no Goumet manga to its lineup. As mentioned before, the anime will contain ten episodes with each running for three minutes.

Kodoku no Gourmet was serialized in Futosha's Monthly Panja magazine from 1994 to 1996. The manga restarted its serialization in January 2008 in SPA! magazine, and has since been publishing irregularly. The series received a live-action TV drama in Japan, and the sixth season began on Saturday. A Chinese live-action web drama ran for 12 episodes between May and August in 2015.

This seems interesting, but at the same time I am not sure how it's gonna work. Making it a series of 3-minute shorts definitely makes everything more skit-based, but other than that it feels like something more suited via a live-action medium.

I really wish I could buy the manga, but it's impossible to find in my country and I don't want to read online so this is good news to me.

If its aim was to make me hungry, then it's already succeeded.

So glad more old stuff is getting an anime adaption! Pure SOL aint my thing but ill check it any way.

they should REALLY adapt this manga too,hi Haruka na Machi e the same artist but he did the story this time, it would work since it fits with the trend returning to the past as a child but with memories intact.

Too bad it's short.
I think I'll stick with the live adaptation.

Good news to have one of the manga of Jiro Taniguchi animated though i would have prefered an adaptation of Kamigami no Itadaki.

Please don't
The live action show is fine.

With all respect to Jiro Taniguchi, I have my doubts this can work out.

It's basically a cooking show, something that works out better in live-action and documentary form.

The closest anime I can think of which has a similar theme is BARTENDER, which talked about drinks. But even that was more an anthology story with people.

Still, I'll give it a watch. I hope it's good.

Whoa, seriously? I haven't read it yet, but it was published in my country, and I've heard it's basically about guy going to restaurants, eating food and thinking about it lolz. I guess 3 minutes per episode could work though?
